10 natural Antibiotics to fight infection

My Comments: Let me tell you a story. Years ago my husband got pleurisy, (infection of the lining of the lung), and it was very painful. I knew what he had before I sent him to the doctor. He got a round of antibiotics, but then the pleurisy came back. Got another round of antibiotics, and the same thing, the pleurisy came back. I said, THAT’S ENOUGH! Every night I poured a large glass of grape juice and cut him two fresh cloves of garlic and made him eat them, and then drink the grape juice to kill the garlic taste.

The pleurisy went away after a few days and never came back. I had to throw away his bed pillow which smelled like garlic, but he was well. It really does work.

Fellowship of the Minds

Superbugs increasingly defy medical treatment, as Big Pharma’s manufactured antibiotics lose their effectiveness from over-use, especially by big corporate factory farms pumping antibiotics (and hormones) into chicken, cows, and pigs.

Here are 10 natural antibiotics that our ancestors used, from Refreshing News, May 17, 2015:

1. Oregano and the oil of oregano

Oregano isn’t just a flavoring in Italian dishes, it has antibacterial properties! Carvacrol, an oil found in oregano, has been found to fight the bacteria that can lead to infections. An oil that is found in oregano, Carvacrol, The oil of oregano has been found to treat digestive infections and one particular yeast infection. Oregano also can help with digestion and weight loss.

2. Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has antibiotic and antiseptic properties. Daily doses of ACV alkalizes your system and can help in managing your weight to lowering cholesterol and your risk…

KILL THE ‘EVERY CHILD ACHIEVES ACT’

By Charlotte Iserbyt
September 19, 2026
NewsWithViews.com

Grassroots still has a chance to kill S1177, Senator Lamar Alexander’s The Every Child Achieves Act, which passed the Senate on July 16, 2015.

The House version, H.R. 5, Rep. John Kline’s The Student Success Act (H.R. 5), a virtual copycat version of S1177, passed the House July 8, 2015, by a very slim 5-vote margin (218-213). HR 5 was defeated in the allotted time. Time had to be extended to get the necessary votes.

Student Success Act (H.R. 5)

The following quotes are taken from a very important article by Alex Newman, The New American, publication of The John Birch Society, August 12, 2015:

These quotes relate to above bills and pending community education legislation S1787 (Full Service Community Schools Act).

“Under the plan, adopted in the Senate last month as part of a massive “education bill” solidifying federal control over children and schools, federally funded so-called community schools will “target” families and children for “services” covering their “academic, physical, social, emotional, health, mental health, and other needs”

.”In other words, children ensnared by “community” schools can spend virtually all of their time there and receive all of their “services there — one step short of Obama Education Secretary Arne Duncan’s recent pitch for government boarding schools that he said should have children 24 hours per day, seven days a week.”

“Essentially, these Obama-backed “community” schools will become your child’s parents, nanny, educator, doctor, dentist, food source, psychiatrist, and more. It was not immediately clear whether hugs would be included, but practically everything else is. In other words, these “schools” will expand and accelerate the ongoing usurpation of the role of families and parents in raising the next generation of Americans. And just in case, parents can receive home visits from the swarms of federally funded school bureaucrats — in addition to parenting lessons from Big Brother on how to care for Big Brother’s children. The federally funded “full-service community schools” will also be keeping watch for Big Brother, with tax funding allocated to help the parental-replacement centers create data-collection systems aimed at knowing everything about everyone.”

Grassroots should reproduce Newman article and related posts at abcsofdumbdown.blogspot.com (January - September 2015) and forward this researched info to their respective Republican Representatives, those who voted “no” (with a huge thank you) and those who voted “yes” (with an urgent plea they switch their yes vote to a no vote) when the final post- Conference up/down vote takes place later this month.

Grassroots should also send their representatives latest information related to Washington State Supreme Court’s recent ruling that charter schools are unconstitutional; at the same time pointing out that many pages of S. 1177 relate to the use of funding/use of tax-funded charter schools which have no elected school boards which is Taxation Without Representation.

State Supreme Court: Charter schools are unconstitutional

HOW THE CONGRESSIONAL SYSTEM WORKS:

After S.1177 ESEA Reauthorization, Every Child Achieves Act, passed, both members of Senate and House are required to go into Conference to iron out differences. After the “ironing out” takes place, there is a bipartisan-approved Conference Report released. Both Senate and House members will then, separately, take a final UP/DOWN vote.

The Conference Report must be passed (as is…with no changes) by both the House and Senate or it will die. It is at this point that we feel we have an excellent chance of overturning this very dangerous/totalitarian legislation which is guaranteed to end the America we have all come to love, the America which guarantees freedom to ALL citizens (lifelong) and especially the freedom for parents to bring up (make ALL, repeat ALL decisions regarding their children’s attitudes, values, and beliefs, health, education, future employment choices, and futures, in general).

We believe the grassroots has a great opportunity to kill ESEA. We almost killed it in February when Rep. John Kline, Chairman of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce was forced to table HR 5 due to not having enough votes. And we sure almost killed it July 8, 2026 when it mysteriously passed by a 5-vote margin (five necessary votes coming in at the very end!) The bill was defeated in allotted time. Time had to be extended to get the necessary votes!

HOW CAN WE KILL IT? Very simply by persuading enough of those Republicans who voted “yes” on H.R.5, July 8, 2015, to switch their “yes” vote to “no” votes. The information that has been unearthed since passage of S.1177, including above very important information regarding charter schools being unconstitutional, should convince these Republicans that they should change their vote from Yes to No.

The Cutting Edge Gets Smaller

By Wendy Elliman for HADASSAHMAGAZINE

Method: Take two magnets. Put one in the stomach and the other in the small intestine. Wait a week for the attraction between the magnets to alter the digestive anatomy and for tissue to grow around these changes. Redirect food exiting the stomach so it bypasses the duodenum to enter the small intestine further along its 10 feet of coils. Result: cure of adult-onset (type 2) diabetes mellitus.

This cure, now being developed for a disease endured by more than 285 million people worldwide (doubling their chances of early death and costing the global economy an estimated annual $612 billion), won its inventor, Dr. Yoav Mintz, the international Society for Medical Innovation and Technology’s International Prize last October. Dr. Mintz is no diabetes specialist. Director of the Innovative Surgery Center at Jerusalem’s Hadassah–Hebrew University Medical Center, he is a surgeon, and it was from this perspective that he developed his healing procedure.

“The technique mimics bariatric or gastric bypass surgery, which is typically performed for weight loss in the morbidly obese,” he says. “Gastric bypass has known benefits for patients with diabetes: Their disease resolves within days of surgery, before they lose weight—suggesting the cure is connected to changes in the anatomy.”

Complications from bariatric surgery are, however, frequent and can include infection and breathing problems, making it a procedure solely for those whose lives are at risk. “What we needed for diabetics was to imitate gastric bypass without performing invasive surgery,” says Dr. Mintz. “And that is what we have developed with the magnets and rerouting the food—both procedures accomplished safely and simply by endoscopy.”

Endoscopy and laparoscopy (also known as keyhole or minimally invasive surgery) have fascinated Hadassah-trained Dr. Mintz since his surgical residency in the late 1990s. A technique in which slender instruments are inserted through a tiny incision in the abdominal wall to visualize or operate on what is inside, laparoscopy speeds recovery and minimizes the bugbears of all surgery: pain, infection and bleeding. Preferred to open surgery wherever it can do the job, over three million laparoscopic procedures were performed worldwide last year. Dr. Mintz trained in San Diego with two of the field’s trailblazers—Dr. Mark Adams Talamini, president of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and Dr. Santiago Horgan, chief of Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of California San Diego Health System. Dr. Mintz returned to Israel in 2006, where he now has a growing number of laparoscopy-related patents to his name and is recognized in the field as an out-of-the-box surgical innovator.

Laparoscopy has only been around for 25 years, and it is improving all the time,” he says. “When initially practiced, surgeons peered into the abdomen through a laparoscopic cylinder. Today’s laparoscope is a thin, fiber-optic tube with a tiny video camera on the end that transmits high-resolution images of what is going on inside the body cavity to a high-definition screen. The first instruments used were longer and thinner versions of those for open surgery, but this was imperfect as the way of operating is entirely different. New instruments and devices are continually being developed so laparoscopy can be expanded and handle more complex procedures.”

During the past decade, Dr. Mintz and his team at the Innovative Surgery Center at Hadassah have created an efficient assembly-line system for inventing new laparoscopic devices and instruments. “We identify a need, or an individual or company approaches us with an idea,” says Dr. Mintz. “We find the right people, brainstorm it and begin its development with bench studies and simulations. Next we move to preclinical trials on animal models, after which we seek approvals for clinical studies from the United States Food and Drug Administration and Hadassah’s Internal Review Board. From there, we progress to prototypes. At some point during the two years this process usually takes we create a startup company or enter into a collaboration with industry and its greater resources.”

The Innovative Surgery Center has actively partnered with numerous companies in developing their new medical technologies. Fifteen-year-old Lumenis in Haifa, the world’s largest medical laser company, is one such collaboration. Working with Dr. Mintz’s lab on laser instruments for laparoscopy, the company has developed four cutters and coagulators to-date, each extending the reach of minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Mintz’s lab at Hadassah is currently working on a versatile laparoscopic surgical stapler with the two-year-old Tel Aviv-based company StepWise Biomed.

“We need a fast, accurate, uniform and nontraumatic way of reconnecting tissue severed in surgery in the intestine, colon and small bowel, so that its structure is preserved and it continues functioning,” says Dr. Mintz. “As such, we wanted to take an existing stapling and cutting mechanism and improve it, making the device significantly smaller than its predecessor, so it will cause less trauma when inserted and more accurate and secure closure. This is in active development.”

Another fruitful collaboration is with Given Imaging, the Israeli company founded in 1998 that developed the revolutionary “pill camera.” Swallowed, it transmits images of the small intestine as it journeys through the digestive system. However, it does not confirm the presence of blood. “We are working with Given Imaging on a method that will enable the PillCam to detect blood in the gastrointestinal system,” says Dr. Mintz. “It will be like a hemocult test done in the doctor’s office, but far more accurate because it is performed by the PillCam as it travels through the intestine.”

Hernia surgery is set to be eased by a laparoscopic tissue-repair kit, on which Dr. Mintz’s lab is collaborating with Easy-Lap Ltd., a private medical device company established in Kfar Truman in 2007. In some 90 percent of the three million hernias repaired in open surgery each year, the weakened abdominal wall is strengthened with a surgical mesh while it heals. With laparoscopic hernia repair, however, attaching the mesh can be problematic, for several reasons. First, laparoscopy instruments are designed to work in straight lines from where they are inserted—and because they do not articulate, attaching a mesh is a challenge. Second, the force with which doctors tack the mesh to the stomach wall must be carefully calculated. And, third, the tacks themselves, while initially strong, will dissolve within the three months it takes for new tissue growth to hold the mesh in place. F.D.A.-approved and on the market, the Easy-Lap kit comprises a flexible mesh placer that takes the webbing to the tissue repair site and a surgeon-friendly articulated mesh stitcher and tacker to fasten and attach it.

Virtual Ports Laparoscopy Systems, a nine-year-old medical device company in Caesarea, is collaborating with Dr. Mintz and other leading surgeons in Israel and the United States to reduce the number of incisions needed in laparoscopy, thereby improving patient outcomes. Traditionally in laparoscopy, two 5-millimeter incisions are made for instruments held in the surgeon’s left and right hands, and two 12-millimeter cuts for the camera and retractor.

“First, we considered the size of these incisions,” says Dr. Mintz. “Five millimeters, about the width of a slim pencil, was considered minimal because of the instruments used. So we thought, let’s take the instrument diameter down to two millimeters—the size of a thick needle—and that will minimize the chances of infection and bleeding. But a two-millimeter diameter resulted in instruments too flimsy to be effective.”

Dr. Mintz and his colleagues came up with an elegant solution: a single 20-millimeter incision—ideally in the navel, to prevent visible scarring—through which several instruments can be placed, adjacent to one another. A radical departure from the conventional four cuts, surgery through a single incision or port produces less postoperative pain, less blood loss, faster recovery time and better cosmetic results.

“Single-port surgery is, however, more complex, needs more expertise and training and better and more flexible instruments that can be angled inside the abdomen,” says Dr. Mintz. “The organ to be extracted—gall bladder, appendix, uterus—must be both clearly visible, distinguished from the overlying organs and soft tissue, and securely held as it is drawn up and removed through the navel.”

Partly based on work performed in Dr. Mintz’s lab, Virtual Ports has developed a proprietary technology called MicroAnchoring that uses exceptionally small devices to retract organs laparoscopically. MicroAnchoring enables surgeons to lift the organ targeted for extraction, anchor it to the abdominal wall and then withdraw the retractor and insert the cutter, so that only one incision is necessary.

And the flimsy instruments with outer sheaths of less than two millimeters? This is another laparoscopic hurdle that is about to be crossed. With startup Eon Surgical, Ltd., Dr. Mintz and his team have been developing microlaparoscopy—use of instruments with diameters of two millimeters. This cutting-edge research in the design of fiber-optic instruments was bought up together with Eon Surgical in 2013 for tens of millions of dollars by global medical devices giant Teleflex, Inc. Heralded as the new standard for diagnostic and therapeutic abdominal procedures, the first large clinical study of the technology is expected to begin this year.

“Improved instrumentation and improved technique modifications will enhance the possibilities of laparoscopy, and even open diseases such as diabetes to surgical solutions,” says Dr. Mintz. “We are progressing rapidly, but I believe we are still far from what we may ultimately achieve.”

Immigration Reform That Will Make America Great Again

My comments: The only thing I disagree with is e-verify because that makes all natural American citizens go through a nationwide database to get a job, that is unconstitutional. Donald doesn’t know about NUMBERS USA and John Tanton who owns it. Tanton is one bad dude.

Goals 2000 is in place, School to Work is in place, Secondary, Elementary Education Act is in place, and ALL THAT IS LEFT IS THE GLOBAL WORKFORCE! How would you like to go through the government data base for employment? Link This is what E-Verify does, for everyone! Read Marc Tucker’s letter to Hillary. All that is left to finish their agenda is the workforce and they will hide that in “inconspicuous legislation.” What a more perfect place than illegal legislation.

To top it off, most of the anti-illegal organizations were founded by John Tanton. Here is a list of his network, and please notice population control and eugenics. John Tanton M.D. is “publisher of The Social Contract and served as editor for its first 8 years. He is a retired eye surgeon whose boyhood on a farm made him into an ardent conservationist and advocate for the environment. His conviction that continued human population growth was a large part of the conservation problem led him to chair the National Sierra Club Population Committee (1971-74), and to the national board of Zero Population Growth (1973-78, including a term as president, 1975-77). In 1979, Tanton shifted his focus towards fighting immigration to reduce the U.S. population, and organized the anti-immigrant Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) based in Washington, D.C. Since then, Tanton has formed, funded, or otherwise been affiliated with many prominent anti-immigration organizations, in what has been termed the John Tanton Network. He is also closely affiliated with a number of white supremacist organizations such as the Pioneer Fund. Tanton’s close relationships with white nationalists and eugenics is documented at the Center for New Community.

The three core principles of Donald J. Trump’s immigration plan

REPOSTED FROM DONALDJTRUMP.COM

When politicians talk about “immigration reform” they mean: amnesty, cheap labor and open borders. The Schumer-Rubio immigration bill was nothing more than a giveaway to the corporate patrons who run both parties.

Real immigration reform puts the needs of working people first – not wealthy globetrotting donors. We are the only country in the world whose immigration system puts the needs of other nations ahead of our own. That must change. Here are the three core principles of real immigration reform:

1. A nation without borders is not a nation. There must be a wall across the southern border.

2. A nation without laws is not a nation. Laws passed in accordance with our Constitutional system of government must be enforced.

3. A nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation. Any immigration plan must improve jobs, wages and security for all Americans.

Make Mexico Pay For The Wall

For many years, Mexico’s leaders have been taking advantage of the United States by using illegal immigration to export the crime and poverty in their own country (as well as in other Latin American countries). They have even published pamphlets on how to illegally immigrate to the United States. The costs for the United States have been extraordinary: U.S. taxpayers have been asked to pick up hundreds of billions in healthcare costs, housing costs, education costs, welfare costs, etc. Indeed, the annual cost of free tax credits alone paid to illegal immigrants quadrupled to $4.2 billion in 2011. The effects on jobseekers have also been disastrous, and black Americans have been particularly harmed.

The impact in terms of crime has been tragic. In recent weeks, the headlines have been covered with cases of criminals who crossed our border illegally only to go on to commit horrific crimes against Americans. Most recently, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, with a long arrest record, is charged with breaking into a 64 year-old women’s home, crushing her skull and eye sockets with a hammer, raping her, and murdering her. The Police Chief in Santa Maria says the “blood trail” leads straight to Washington.

In 2011, the Government Accountability Office found that there were a shocking 3 million arrests attached to the incarcerated alien population, including tens of thousands of violent beatings, rapes and murders.

Meanwhile, Mexico continues to make billions on not only our bad trade deals but also relies heavily on the billions of dollars in remittances sent from illegal immigrants in the United States back to Mexico ($22 billion in 2013 alone).

In short, the Mexican government has taken the United States to the cleaners. They are responsible for this problem, and they must help pay to clean it up.

The cost of building a permanent border wall pales mightily in comparison to what American taxpayers spend every single year on dealing with the fallout of illegal immigration on their communities, schools and unemployment offices.

Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards – of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options]. We will not be taken advantage of anymore.

Defend The Laws And Constitution Of The United States

America will only be great as long as America remains a nation of laws that lives according to the Constitution. No one is above the law. The following steps will return to the American people the safety of their laws, which politicians have stolen from them:

Triple the number of ICE officers. As the President of the ICE Officers’ Council explained in Congressional testimony: “Only approximately 5,000 officers and agents within ICE perform the lion’s share of ICE’s immigration mission…Compare that to the Los Angeles Police Department at approximately 10,000 officers. Approximately 5,000 officers in ICE cover 50 states, Puerto Rico and Guam, and are attempting to enforce immigration law against 11 million illegal aliens already in the interior of the United States. Since 9-11, the U.S. Border Patrol has tripled in size, while ICE’s immigration enforcement arm, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), has remained at relatively the same size.” This will be funded by accepting the recommendation of the Inspector General for Tax Administration and eliminating tax credit payments to illegal immigrants.

Nationwide e-verify. This simple measure will protect jobs for unemployed Americans.

Mandatory return of all criminal aliens. The Obama Administration has released 76,000 aliens from its custody with criminal convictions since 2013 alone. All criminal aliens must be returned to their home countries, a process which can be aided by canceling any visas to foreign countries which will not accept their own criminals, and making it a separate and additional crime to commit an offense while here illegally.

Detention—not catch-and-release. Illegal aliens apprehended crossing the border must be detained until they are sent home, no more catch-and-release.

Defund sanctuary cities. Cut-off federal grants to any city which refuses to cooperate with federal law enforcement.

Enhanced penalties for overstaying a visa. Millions of people come to the United States on temporary visas but refuse to leave, without consequence. This is a threat to national security. Individuals who refuse to leave at the time their visa expires should be subject to criminal penalties; this will also help give local jurisdictions the power to hold visa overstays until federal authorities arrive. Completion of a visa tracking system – required by law but blocked by lobbyists – will be necessary as well.

Cooperate with local gang task forces. ICE officers should accompany local police departments conducting raids of violent street gangs like MS-13 and the 18th street gang, which have terrorized the country. All illegal aliens in gangs should be apprehended and deported. Again, quoting Chris Crane: “ICE Officers and Agents are forced to apply the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Directive, not to children in schools, but to adult inmates in jails. If an illegal-alien inmate simply claims eligibility, ICE is forced to release the alien back into the community. This includes serious criminals who have committed felonies, who have assaulted officers, and who prey on children…ICE officers should be required to place detainers on every illegal alien they encounter in jails and prisons, since these aliens not only violated immigration laws, but then went on to engage in activities that led to their arrest by police; ICE officers should be required to issue Notices to Appear to all illegal aliens with criminal convictions, DUI convictions, or a gang affiliation; ICE should be working with any state or local drug or gang task force that asks for such assistance.”

End birthright citizenship. This remains the biggest magnet for illegal immigration. By a 2:1 margin, voters say it’s the wrong policy, including Harry Reid who said “no sane country” would give automatic citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants.

Put American Workers First

Decades of disastrous trade deals and immigration policies have destroyed our middle class. Today, nearly 40% of black teenagers are unemployed. Nearly 30% of Hispanic teenagers are unemployed. For black Americans without high school diplomas, the bottom has fallen out: more than 70% were employed in 1960, compared to less than 40% in 2000. Across the economy, the percentage of adults in the labor force has collapsed to a level not experienced in generations. As CBS news wrote in a piece entitled “America’s incredible shrinking middle class”: “If the middle-class is the economic backbone of America, then the country is developing osteoporosis.”

The influx of foreign workers holds down salaries, keeps unemployment high, and makes it difficult for poor and working class Americans – including immigrants themselves and their children – to earn a middle class wage. Nearly half of all immigrants and their US-born children currently live in or near poverty, including more than 60 percent of Hispanic immigrants. Every year, we voluntarily admit another 2 million new immigrants, guest workers, refugees, and dependents, growing our existing all-time historic record population of 42 million immigrants. We need to control the admission of new low-earning workers in order to: help wages grow, get teenagers back to work, aid minorities’ rise into the middle class, help schools and communities falling behind, and to ensure our immigrant members of the national family become part of the American dream.

Additionally, we need to stop giving legal immigrant visas to people bent on causing us harm. From the 9/11 hijackers, to the Boston Bombers, and many others, our immigration system is being used to attack us. The President of the immigration caseworkers union declared in a statement on ISIS: “We’ve become the visa clearinghouse for the world.”

Here are some additional specific policy proposals for long-term reform:

Increase prevailing wage for H-1Bs. We graduate two times more Americans with STEM degrees each year than find STEM jobs, yet as much as two-thirds of entry-level hiring for IT jobs is accomplished through the H-1B program. More than half of H-1B visas are issued for the program’s lowest allowable wage level, and more than eighty percent for its bottom two. Raising the prevailing wage paid to H-1Bs will force companies to give these coveted entry-level jobs to the existing domestic pool of unemployed native and immigrant workers in the U.S., instead of flying in cheaper workers from overseas. This will improve the number of black, Hispanic and female workers in Silicon Valley who have been passed over in favor of the H-1B program. Mark Zuckerberg’s personal Senator, Marco Rubio, has a bill to triple H-1Bs that would decimate women and minorities.

Requirement to hire American workers first. Too many visas, like the H-1B, have no such requirement. In the year 2015, with 92 million Americans outside the workforce and incomes collapsing, we need to companies to hire from the domestic pool of unemployed. Petitions for workers should be mailed to the unemployment office, not USCIS.

End welfare abuse. Applicants for entry to the United States should be required to certify that they can pay for their own housing, healthcare and other needs before coming to the U.S.

Jobs program for inner city youth. The J-1 visa jobs program for foreign youth will be terminated and replaced with a resume bank for inner city youth provided to all corporate subscribers to the J-1 visa program.

Refugee program for American children. Increase standards for the admission of refugees and asylum-seekers to crack down on abuses. Use the monies saved on expensive refugee programs to help place American children without parents in safer homes and communities, and to improve community safety in high crime neighborhoods in the United States.

Immigration moderation. Before any new green cards are issued to foreign workers abroad, there will be a pause where employers will have to hire from the domestic pool of unemployed immigrant and native workers. This will help reverse women’s plummeting workplace participation rate, grow wages, and allow record immigration levels to subside to more moderate historical averages.

PROTECTING OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

Donald J. Trump on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms

REPOSTED FROM DONALDJTRUMP.COM

The Second Amendment to our Constitution is clear. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed upon. Period.

The Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that belongs to all law-abiding Americans. The Constitution doesn’t create that right – it ensures that the government can’t take it away. Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendment’s purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families. This is about self-defense, plain and simple.

It’s been said that the Second Amendment is America’s first freedom. That’s because the Right to Keep and Bear Arms protects all our other rights. We are the only country in the world that has a Second Amendment. Protecting that freedom is imperative. Here’s how we will do that:

Enforce The Laws On The Books

We need to get serious about prosecuting violent criminals. The Obama administration’s record on that is abysmal. Violent crime in cities like Baltimore, Chicago and many others is out of control. Drug dealers and gang members are given a slap on the wrist and turned loose on the street. This needs to stop.

Several years ago there was a tremendous program in Richmond, Virginia called Project Exile. It said that if a violent felon uses a gun to commit a crime, you will be prosecuted in federal court and go to prison for five years – no parole or early release. Obama’s former Attorney General, Eric Holder, called that a “cookie cutter” program. That’s ridiculous. I call that program a success. Murders committed with guns in Richmond decreased by over 60% when Project Exile was in place – in the first two years of the program alone, 350 armed felons were taken off the street.

Why does that matter to law-abiding gun owners? Because they’re the ones who anti-gun politicians and the media blame when criminals misuse guns. We need to bring back and expand programs like Project Exile and get gang members and drug dealers off the street. When we do, crime will go down and our cities and communities will be safer places to live.

Here’s another important way to fight crime – empower law-abiding gun owners to defend themselves. Law enforcement is great, they do a tremendous job, but they can’t be everywhere all of the time. Our personal protection is ultimately up to us. That’s why I’m a gun owner, that’s why I have a concealed carry permit, and that’s why tens of millions of Americans have concealed carry permits as well. It’s just common sense. To make America great again, we’re going to go after criminals and put the law back on the side of the law-abiding.

Fix Our Broken Mental Health System

Let’s be clear about this. Our mental health system is broken. It needs to be fixed. Too many politicians have ignored this problem for too long.

All of the tragic mass murders that occurred in the past several years have something in common – there were red flags that were ignored. We can’t allow that to continue. We need to expand treatment programs, because most people with mental health problems aren’t violent, they just need help. But for those who are violent, a danger to themselves or others, we need to get them off the street before they can terrorize our communities. This is just common sense.

And why does this matter to law-abiding gun owners? Once again, because they get blamed by anti-gun politicians, gun control groups and the media for the acts of deranged madmen. When one of these tragedies occurs, we can count on two things: one, that opponents of gun rights will immediately exploit it to push their political agenda; and two, that none of their so-called “solutions” would have prevented the tragedy in the first place. They’ve even admitted it.

We need real solutions to address real problems. Not grandstanding or political agendas.

Defend The Rights of Law-Abiding Gun Owners

GUN AND MAGAZINE BANS. Gun and magazine bans are a total failure. That’s been proven every time it’s been tried. Opponents of gun rights try to come up with scary sounding phrases like “assault weapons”, “military-style weapons” and “high capacity magazines” to confuse people. What they’re really talking about are popular semi-automatic rifles and standard magazines that are owned by tens of millions of Americans. Law-abiding people should be allowed to own the firearm of their choice. The government has no business dictating what types of firearms good, honest people are allowed to own.

BACKGROUND CHECKS. There has been a national background check system in place since 1998. Every time a person buys a gun from a federally licensed gun dealer – which is the overwhelming majority of all gun purchases – they go through a federal background check. Study after study has shown that very few criminals are stupid enough to try and pass a background check – they get their guns from friends/family members or by stealing them. So the overwhelming majority of people who go through background checks are law-abiding gun owners. When the system was created, gun owners were promised that it would be instant, accurate and fair. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case today. Too many states are failing to put criminal and mental health records into the system – and it should go without saying that a system’s only going to be as effective as the records that are put into it. What we need to do is fix the system we have and make it work as intended. What we don’t need to do is expand a broken system.

NATIONAL RIGHT TO CARRY. The right of self-defense doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway. That’s why I have a concealed carry permit and why tens of millions of Americans do too. That permit should be valid in all 50 states. A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right – then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege.

MILITARY BASES AND RECRUITING CENTERS. Banning our military from carrying firearms on bases and at recruiting centers is ridiculous. We train our military how to safely and responsibly use firearms, but our current policies leave them defenseless. To make America great again, we need a strong military. To have a strong military, we need to allow them to defend themselves.

Obama to nominate first openly gay service secretary to lead the Army

President Obama, in a historic first for the Pentagon, has chosen to nominate Eric Fanning to lead the Army, a move that would make him the first openly gay civilian secretary of one of the military services.

Fanning, 47, has been a specialist on national security issues for more than two decades and has played a key role overseeing some of the Pentagon’s biggest shipbuilding and fighter jet programs. Now he will oversee an Army that has been battered by the longest stretch of continuous combat in U.S. history and is facing potentially severe budget cuts. It’s also an Army that after a long stretch of patrolling Iraqi and Afghan villages is searching for its postwar role in protecting the nation.

Fanning’s nomination, which must go to the Senate for confirmation, reflects a major shift for the Pentagon, which only four years ago prevented openly gay troops from serving in the military. The policy didn’t extend to civilian leaders, such as Fanning.

His long tenure in the Pentagon and his breadth of experience in shepherding some of the department’s most complex and sensitive weapons programs was a key factor in his nomination for the Army’s top job, administration officials said.

“Eric brings many years of proven experience and exceptional leadership to this new role,” Obama said in a statement.

Fanning’s rise to one of the Pentagon’s toughest and most prominent jobs also reflects the Obama’s commitment to diversity at the highest levels of his administration. During his time in office, Obama has overhauled internal policies to provide federal benefits to same-sex partners, appointed gay men and lesbians to the executive branch and the federal courts and ended the 18-year ban on gays serving openly in the military.

As Army secretary, Fanning will be teamed with Gen. Mark Milley, who took over in August as the Army’s top general, the chief of staff. The two men will assume responsibility for the Pentagon’s largest and most troubled service.

The Army, which swelled to about 570,000 active-duty troops during the height of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, has shed about 80,000 soldiers in recent years and plans to cut 40,000 more over the next few years. The planned cuts would shrink the service to its smallest size of the post-World War II era.

Battered by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Army has had to deal with a spike in suicides as the wars drew to an end. Recently, the Army’s outgoing chief of staff, Gen. Ray Odierno, said that tight budgets and the ongoing strain of 14 years of war had badly degraded the Army’s readiness to fight and that only one-third of its brigades were prepared to deploy to a war zone, the lowest readiness rate in decades.

In a sign of how much the country has changed in the past decade, Fanning’s sexual orientation seemed a non-issue among Republicans and Democrats in Congress, who were far more worried about the state of the Army.

“There is a real crisis in morale and retention that has developed for the Army over the last several years,” said Joe Kasper, chief of staff to Rep. Duncan D. Hunter (R-Calif.). “The Army needs a leader who will stand up for soldiers, who recognizes war can get ugly and who won’t shy away from the tough issues. If Fanning is that type of person, he’ll be embraced.”

Fanning’s historic appointment didn’t seem to cause a stir in the Army, either.

LGBT issues are advancing by the day in the United States, and with it, there’s a growing class of Washington power players. Here is 21 of the most influential openly gay, lesbian and bisexual people working in the capital, part of a list as compiled by the National Journal.

From lobbyists to Congress to the White House, there’s a growing class of power players.

Hilary Rosen The managing director of SKDKnickerbocker strategic communications came out in the 1970s while studying at George Washington University. Being out “allows you to focus on doing what you want to do, as opposed to worrying about it,” the frequent CNN commentator told National Journal. Paul Morigi/Getty Images for Fortune

“My sense is that the Army is over this and has been over it for some time,” said Phil Carter, a veteran of the war in Iraq and senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security. “The Army cares whether you can shoot straight, not whether you are straight.”

Fanning’s role as Army secretary would give him influence over the selection of the generation of generals who will rebuild the service after the wars. One big question for the Army is whether, in an era of tight budgets, it will return primarily to preparing for heavy combat missions against a big, conventional military, such as the Russians, or experiment with new formations that are better suited to training and working alongside indigenous partners.

“The biggest problem the Army faces is finding its mission, relevance and purpose after the Iraq and Afghanistan wars,” Carter said. “All of the services face it, but the Army faces it most acutely.”

Fanning has been a trusted ally of Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter, who tapped Fanning last year to oversee his transition team as he moved into the Pentagon’s top job. He also served briefly as acting Air Force secretary, a deputy undersecretary of the Navy and has been acting undersecretary of the Army since June 2015.

Fanning’s new boss in the Pentagon described him as “one of our country’s most knowledgeable, dedicated, and experienced public servants.”

Defense officials said that Fanning might be the only person in history to serve at senior levels in all three services. “He understands how the Pentagon works and how to get things done in the Pentagon,” said Rudy de Leon, who was deputy defense secretary in the Clinton administration. “He knows what works and what doesn’t work.”

Fanning’s knowledge of the costly and complicated world of weapons development is needed in the Army, which has struggled to field new combat systems in recent decades. Since 2000, the Army has been forced to cancel virtually all of its major new weapons programs because they ran over budget or didn’t perform as expected.

New battlefield equipment for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, such as special armored vehicles designed to resist blasts from roadside bombs, had to be developed outside of the Army’s traditional procurement channels.

The net result is that many of the Army’s most sophisticated helicopters, tanks and artillery were developed more than 30 years ago.

“The Army is still living off equipment from the Reagan years,” de Leon said. With budgets tight, Fanning’s challenge will be to upgrade and modernize the aging fleet using modern information technology.

Ted Cruz is Not Eligible and He Knows It!

My comments: Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz are all ineligible to hold the title of president or vice-president of the United States. Why? Because the law states they have to be born to naturalized American citizens. Rubio and Jindal were born on American soil but not to American naturalized citizens. Rubio’s parents were still Cuban citizens, and Jindal’s still citizens of India. Cruz’s father was still a citizen of Cuba, and to make it worse, Cruz was not born in the USA, but in Canada. He knows he’s not eligible. However, Obama would have to be kicked out if they denied these foreigners the run for the presidency.

Trump declines to correct man who says Obama is Muslim

My Comments: And just how many Americans believe Obama is a Muslim, and a Marxist? I’d bet those who know the truth number in the millions. I’m glad Trump didn’t correct him, there was no correction needed. This is a leftwing article…beware!
ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump declined Thursday to correct a questioner at a town hall event who incorrectly stated that President Barack Obama is Muslim and said he’d be “looking at” claims of terrorist training camps on American soil.

Trump, who has a history of making controversial remarks about immigrants and other groups, was kicking off a town hall event in Rochester, New Hampshire — his first since Wednesday evening’s second Republican primary debate.

“We have a problem in this country. It’s called Muslims,” said the first man Trump called on to ask a question. “We know our current president is one. You know he’s not even an American.”

Trump, who was a driver of the “birther” movement that claimed Obama wasn’t born in the U.S, first responded with feigned exasperation — “We need the question,” he said, to laughs — but let the man continue.

“We have training camps growing where they want to kill us. That’s my question,” the questioner continued. “When can we get rid of it?”

Trump did not dispute the man’s assertions and said he’d heard others raise the issue.

“We’re going to be looking at a lot of different things. And you know, a lot of people are saying that, and a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening out there,” said Trump. “We’re going to be looking at that and plenty of other things.”

The incident evoked a moment during the 2008 campaign when Republican nominee John McCain took the microphone away from a woman who said she didn’t trust Obama because he was an “Arab.”

Trump’s questions about the president’s country of birth helped build his stature among some conservative voters and pushed Obama to release a copy of his birth certificate in 2011. But the billionaire businessman has distanced himself from the issue during his current run.

Trump’s town hall, in a sweaty auditorium in Rochester, was also interrupted several times by a protester, whose outbursts were met by hostility from the friendly crowd.

Tennessee Lawmakers Introduce Bill Nullifying Gay Marriage Decision

My comments: Our governor, Bill Haslam, is no conservative Christian although that’s what he claims. He has filled his administration with Muslims, he is tight friends with our filthy Senator Lamar Alexander who wants an internet tax and who has destroyed education over and over again, and he is an anti-second amendment governor. He is from the Haslam family who owns Pilot Oil and Flying J, so he has enough money to run plenty of campaigns. Anyone who believes this man will nullify this law is spitting in the wind. If only our people would call and harass their reps and the governor, we could possibly get this passed.

Sept. 17, 2015– Nearly 1,000 Tennessee Christians rally for traditional marriage at the state capitol where legislators introduce a bill to nullify the Supreme Court’s gay marriage decision.

NASHVILLE, September 17, 2015– On Thursday, almost a thousand conservative Christians gathered at the Tennessee state capitol for a rally today that featured many Republican legislators prepared to fight the Supreme Court’s decision on gay marriage.

At the rally, State Senator Mae Beavers (R-Mt. Juliet) and State Representative Mark Pody (R-Lebanon) announced legislation calling for Tennessee to defend current state law and the constitutional amendment adopted by voters in 2006 specifying that only a marriage between a man and a woman can be legally recognized in the state. The “Tennessee Natural Marriage Defense Act” rejects the Obergefell v. Hodges decision handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court in June giving same sex couples the fundamental right to marry and calls on the attorney general and reporter to defend any state or local government official from any lawsuit to the contrary.

House Bill 1412 / Senate Bill 1437 also aims to protect court clerks and ministers who have religious objections to marrying same sex couples from prosecution or civil action.

“This decision defies constitutional authority and is one of the most glaring examples of judicial activism in U.S. Supreme Court history,” said Representative Pody. “It not only tramples on state’s rights, but has paved the way for an all-out assault on the religious freedoms of Christians who disagree with it. This bill calls for Tennessee to stand against such unconstitutional action in hopes that other states will stand with us against an out-of-control court legislating from the bench.”

“Natural marriage between one man and one woman as recognized by the people of this state remains the law, regardless of any court decision to the contrary,” said Senator Beavers. “The Obergefell case is clearly and blatantly an overstep of the Supreme Court’s Authority and it is time that states, like Tennessee, stand up against the judicial tyranny of which Thomas Jefferson so eloquently warned. This legislation deems that any court decision purporting to strike down the state’s definitions of natural marriage, including Obergefell v. Hodges, is void in Tennessee.”

“Thomas Jefferson was quoted as saying, ‘Whenever the General Government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force,’” said Beavers.

Beavers’ and Pody’s legislation says, “No state or local agency or official shall give force or effect to any court order that has the effect of violating Tennessee’s laws protecting natural marriage.”

It also says, “No state or local agency or official shall levy upon the property or arrest the person of any government official or individual who does not comply with any unlawful court order regarding natural marriage within Tennessee.”

“Our clerks and Tennessee’s clergy need protection to exercise their religious beliefs,” added Beavers. “This law would help protect them from prosecution or civil actions.”

Tennessee’s marriage protection amendment specifying that only a marriage between a man and woman can be legally recognized in the state was approved by 81 percent of voters.

The General Assembly will take up the bill upon convening the 2016 legislative session in January.
