Yesterday’s Communist Is Today’s Progressive

Politically Short

What new wholly created crisis by this administration will emerge today? No one can know for certain except that whatever manufactured crisis the Left creates today will surely be one that pits one group of Americans against each other. Sadly it’s become the status quo for our way of governance in which new morals, values, laws and rights are established at the benefit of a few to the detriment of the majority. All the while this is happening we meaninglessly drift away from the norms established in the past as our own history fades away from popular discourse.

In the blink of an eye, or in a generation, society itself unravels as it seems today to have lost the ability to retain the qualities that once made America exceptional. Liberty, freedom, truth, and the Constitution have given way to ideology, entitlement, and moral relativism. What we are left with is a…

Progressive Totalitarianism

Politically Short

In his book The Snapping of the American Mind, David Kupelian asks the following painful question that millions of Americans like myself have pondered for years and will ponder for some time to come as America slowly rips itself apart. Kupelian writes, “How could it be that hundreds of thousands of Americans fought and bled – and many died – on foreign shores to contain an evil and metas-tasizing ideology variously called communism, Marxism, socialism, collectivism, or statism, and yet now, just a few years later, we would gaze up at the pinnacle of power in our own country and behold leaders in thrall to essentially the same core ideology we fought and died to protect strangers from?”

The answer to this is can be found within the culture itself and more specifically within Americas youth who have seemingly embraced the concept of socialism with little to no understanding…

Kerry “Can’t Decide” if Slaughter of Mideast Christians is Genocide

Kerry Having ‘Additional Evaluation’ Done to Decide if Slaughter of Mideast Christians is Genocide

By Terence P. Jeffrey | February 24, 2026 | 3:14 PM EST

(CNSNews.com) - Secretary of State John Kerry told the House Appropriations Subcommittee on the Department of State and Foreign Assistance today that he is having an “additional evaluation” done to help him determine whether the systematic murder of Christians and other religious minorities in the Middle East—at the hands of the Islamic State and others—should be declared “genocide.”

“I will make a decision on it as soon as I have that additional evaluation and we will proceed forward from there,” Kerry said.

Kerry was responding to a question put to him by Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R.-Neb.), who is the sponsor of a resolution that would declare on behalf of Congress that it is in fact genocide.

The resolution expresses “the sense of Congress that those who commit or support atrocities against Christians and other ethnic and religious minorities, including Yezidis, Turkmen, Sabea-Mandeans, Kaka‘e, and Kurds, and who target them specifically for ethnic or religious reasons, are committing, and are hereby declared to be committing, ‘war crimes,’ ‘crimes against humanity,’ and ‘genocide.’”

As a preface to his question, Fortenberry told Kerry about a young Syrian man who had been murdered by jihadists after refusing to renounce his Christian faith.

“I had the extraordinary privilege of being in the room with Pope Francis when he, in a very powerful moment, was given a small cross, a Christian crucifix,” said Fortenberry. “That crucifix had belonged to a young Syrian man who had been captured by the jihadists, and he was told to choose: Convert or die. And he chose his ancient faith tradition. He chose Christ, and he was beheaded.”

“His mother was able to recover the body, recover this cross, and bury him,” said Fortenberry. “She fled to Austria, which set the stage for this moment which I witnessed.”

“Mr. Secretary, this is repeating itself over and over and over again against Christians, Yazidis, and other religious minorities in the region,” said Fortenberry.

“What I’m urging here today,” said Fortenberry, “is that you use the authority and power of your office to call this genocide, to help restore the rich tapestry of the ancient faith traditions in the Middle East, to stop this assault on human dignity and civilization itself.”

Kerry said he is now considering declaring the targeting of Middle East Christians and other religious minorities in the region a genocide.

But, Kerry said, he has asked for “further evalution” to be done before he makes a final decision.

“I share just a huge sense of revulsion over these acts, obviously,” Kerry said. “None of us have ever seen anything like it in our lifetimes. Although, obviously, if you go back to the Holocaust, the world has seen it.

“We are currently doing what I have to do, which is review very carefully the legal standards and precedents for whatever judgment is made,” he said.

“I can tell you we are doing that,” he said. “I have had some initial recommendations made to me. I have asked for some further evaluation. And I will make a decision on this. And I will make a decision on it as soon as I have that additional evaluation and we will proceed forward from there.”

Here is the transcript of the exchange between Fortenberry and Kerry:

Fortenberry: Mr. Secretary, I had the extraordinary privilege of being in the room with Pope Francis when he, in a very powerful moment, was given a small cross, a Christian crucifix. That crucifix had belonged to a young Syrian man who had been captured by the jihadists, and he was told to choose: Convert or die. And he chose his ancient faith tradition. He chose Christ, and he was beheaded.

His mother was able to recover the body, recover this cross, and bury him. And she fled to Austria, which set the stage for this moment which I witnessed.

Mr. Secretary, this is repeating itself over and over and over again against Christians, Yazidis, and other religious minorities in the region. In 2004, Colin Powell, when he was secretary of state, came before Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and I believe you served on that committee at that point, and declared what was happening in Darfur to be a genocide.

There are 200 members of Congress in a bi-partisan fashion, we’ve put our names on a resolution that is forthcoming that declares this genocide. There is a growing international consensus in this regard. The European Parliament has passed something similar. The U.S. Catholic Bishops, Pope Francis has spoken out, Hillary Clinton has called it such, Marco Rubio, the international association of genocide scholars.

I want a note as well a word of thanks to you and President Obama for the quick action on Mount Sinjar that actually saved the lives of women and children, countless persons who would have been wiped out and victimized.

So, what I’m urging here today is that you use the authority and power of your office to call this genocide, to help restore the rich tapestry of the ancient faith traditions in the Middle East, to stop this assault on human dignity and civilization itself. And to set potentially the conditions that we are all hoping and praying for that re-establishes stability and reintegration of these ancient faith traditions into the fabric of the communities in the Middle East entirely.

I think the stability, the future stability, of the entire region depends upon this.

Kerry: Well again Congressman thank you for a very moving and eloquent description of the problem. And I appreciate, you were lucky to be in that room to witness that, and I certainly appreciate your reactions to it. And I share just a huge sense of revulsion over these acts, obviously. None of us have ever seen anything like it in our lifetimes. Although, obviously, if you go back to the Holocaust, the world has seen it.

We are currently doing what I have to do, which is review very carefully the legal standards and precedents for whatever judgment is made. I can tell you we are doing that. I have had some initial recommendations made to me. I have asked for some further evaluation. And I will make a decision on this. And I will make a decision on it as soon as I have that additional evaluation and we will proceed forward from there.

I understand how compelling it is. Christians have been moved in many parts now of the Middle East, I might add. This is not just in Syria, but in other places there has been an increased forced evacuation and displacement, which is equally disturbing, though it’s not—you know, they aren’t killing them in that case, but it’s a removal, and a cleansing ethnically and religiously, which is deeply disturbing. So we are very much focused on this. And, as I say, I will make a judgement soon.

Fortenberry: They have taken the conditions for life as well as life away from Christians, Yazidis, and religious minorities. And I bring up the declaration by former Secretary of State Colin Powell to demonstrate the power that the declaration actually has, because in doing so he helped put a stop to that grim reality there in Darfur.

I know you share deep sympathies in this regard. I just urge you, and plead with you, partner with us. There is a growing consensus that this is not only true and real but I think, again, it sets the condition for whatever the future settlement we have to have.

Kerry’s Plan B: Carving Up Syria

Plan B is, in fact, Plan A

Secretary of State John Kerry said in Tuesday the United States will push to balkanize Syria if a planned ceasefire fails.

“It may be too late to keep it as a whole Syria if we wait much longer,” he told the US Senate foreign relations committee.

The US and Russia have agreed upon a ceasefire despite continued Turkish shelling and Russian airstrikes against Gulf Emirate and US supported jihadists.

“I would like to stress that the Russian-US ceasefire agreement does not include ISIS, Al-Nusra Front militants and other militants designated as terrorists by the UN Security Council. Therefore the Russian Air Force is continuing airstrikes against these international terrorist groups’ targets as usual,” Russian Defense Ministry spokesperson Major General Igor Konashenkov said Wednesday.

Neocons are skeptical of the plan brokered by Kerry and the Russians.

“The only one holding out hope is John Kerry,” said Shadi Hamid, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institute. “Right now, it’s hypothetical and not based on anything real. How Kerry even explained it in his own words, it’s hard to take seriously.”

Former US Ambassador to Iraq Robert Ford, a onetime underling to Honduran death squad architect John Negroponte, also cast aspersion on the ceasefire plan.

“Instead of halting fire, the Syrian government is currently trying to isolate and assert dominion over the rebel-held portion of Aleppo,” Ford wrote earlier this week. “The Syrian government and its Russian and Iranian allies want to impose surrender terms on the armed opposition, not negotiate a compromise political deal.”

Ford said “the purpose of diplomacy [is] to offer the illusion of substance. This administration needs to show that it’s doing something on Syria. The process becomes an end in and of itself, a version of a process that’s been ongoing since 2012. This is just the latest in a series of endless initiatives that have never made real progress.”

Balkanization the Primary Objective

The primary objective in Syria, long ignored by the establishment media, is the removal of Bashar al-Assad and the dissolution of the country into ethnic mini-states.

Back in 2006 Army Lt. Col. (ret.) Ralph Peters “suggested that a reimagining of Middle Eastern and Asian borders along ethnic, sectarian and tribal lines might ease regional tensions,” the Armed Forces Journal reported.

The breakup of Syria and much of the Middle East was previously envisioned by the Bush neocons who penned A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm. The document created by the Study Group on a New Israeli Strategy Toward 2000 called for overthrowing Saddam Hussein and waging a proxy war against al-Assad in Syria.

Prior to the Clean Break document, Oded Yinon wrote The Zionist Plan for the Middle East. It proposed “that all the Arab states should be broken down, by Israel, into small units” and the “dissolution of Syria and Iraq later on into ethnically or religiously unique areas such as in Lebanon, is Israel’s primary target on the Eastern front in the long run.” The destruction of the Arab and Muslim states, Yinon suggested, would be accomplished from within by exploiting their internal religious and ethnic tensions.

Kerry understands the proposed ceasefire will fail as Syria with Russian assistance moves to retake territory captured by jihadists determined to impose an Islamic principality in Syria (a design supported by the Pentagon).

Kerry’s Plan B is, in fact, Plan A. The US effort to partition the country will inevitability result in resistance and possible confrontation with Russia.

Melania Trump MSNBC Interview….

She’s beautiful, what an improvement over what we have now! This is a smart and charming and beautiful woman inside and out. I believe Mr. Trump is one of the most brilliant men in America, and he will make an absolutely wonderful President. His first wife, Ivana made the statement, “If Donald Trump says he’ll do something, he’ll do it.” Bless Ivana for her statement. And thank God we have been given a chance to save our beloved country with this man. I fully believe God has heard the prayers of those who have repented for our nation’s evils, and prayed for someone to help us turn it around.

OBAMA WILL SPEND $25,000 PER HOMICIDE TO FIGHT THE “EPIDEMIC OF GUN VIOLENCE”

By Doug Book, Editor

The $4.1 trillion budget Barack Hussein submitted to congress at the beginning of the month includes a request for hundreds of millions in extra cash to beef up the left’s assault against the 2nd Amendment.

According to The Hill, “The ATF budget request is $1.3 billion, of which more than $35 million will be spent hiring 200 additional agents to reduce gun violence. The FBI is also requesting more money to hire an additional 230 employees to speed up the process to background checks on gun sales.”

And what is it that constitutes the so-called “epidemic of gun violence” that brought crocodile tears to the eyes of the most corrupt president the national media has ever shielded from justice? Mass killings and assorted firearm homicides.

What follows are statistics which the American public will never be provided by the White House.

Mass Killings

1) In the last decade of the 20th Century, 49 mass killings took place in the United States. (Murders of multiple victims by an armed assailant). In the first decade of the 21st Century, 26 mass killings took place.

2) “Although mass shootings have been covered extensively in the media, mass shootings account for a small fraction of gun-related deaths and the frequency of these events steadily declined between 1994 and 2007, rising between 2007 and 2013, before continuing a downward decline.”

3) “A common theme of mass shootings is that they occur in places where guns are banned and killers know everyone will be unarmed, such as shopping malls and schools.”

“The Aurora shooter, who killed twelve people [at a movie theater], had a choice of seven movie theaters that were showing the Batman movie he was obsessed with. All were within a 20-minute drive of his home. The Cinemark Theater the killer ultimately chose wasn’t the closest, but it was the only one that posted signs saying it banned concealed handguns carried by law-abiding individuals. All of the other theaters allowed the approximately 4 percent of Colorado adults who have a concealed-handgun permit to enter with their weapons.”

Countless articles and reports featured the Aurora murders. Stories about the killer led the news for weeks. Yet how often did we hear that this psychopath made a conscious choice to commit his crimes in a “gun free zone?”

4) “In the months after the mass shooting at the Newtown, Conn., elementary school in December [of 2012] the public [wa]s paying close attention to the topic of firearms; according to a recent Pew Research Center survey (Pew Research Center, April 2013) no story received more public attention from mid-March to early April [2013] than the debate over gun control. Reducing crime … moved up as a priority for the public in polling th[at] year.”

HOWEVER, “Despite national attention to the issue of firearm violence, most Americans are unaware that gun crime is lower today than it was two decades ago. According to a new Pew Research Center survey, today 56% of Americans believe gun crime is higher than 20 years ago and only 12% think it is lower.” In fact, “…the gun homicide rate is down 49% since its 1993 peak.”

What could possibly account for such ignorance on the part of the American people? Surely the media wouldn’t keep such important news from an interested public!

Firearm Homicides

Some 60% of firearm deaths each year are suicides. For example, in the year 2000, 16,586 people committed suicide with a firearm while about 13,000 killed themselves in some other way.

Here are the figures for firearm homicides, according to the FBI, from 2007 thru 2014:

2007-10,129; 2008-9,528; 2009-9,199; 2010-8,874; 2011-8,583; 2012-8,897; 2013-8,454; 2014-8,124

Of these homicides, a large number are attributed each year to drug violence and gang members killing (in large part) other gang members! These killings take place in large cities, often accounting for as much as 80% of yearly shooting deaths. “In New Orleans, between 35-55% of homicides are classified as gang-related. In Chicago, an estimated 80% of homicides are gang-related. And in Baltimore, the police commissioner states that 80% of homicides are drug-related.”

Although it is “…unclear what percentage of gun deaths are gang-related nationally,” it is a safe bet that taking guns from gang members and drug dealers would reduce Mr. Obama’s “epidemic of gun violence” far more effectively than continually aiming gun control legislation at the law abiding.

According to the FBI there were 8,124 firearm related murders in 2014. An extra $200 million in the Obama budget and 8000 murders this year would mean Barack could target each with an additional $25,000 over and above what his ATF and FBI spent in 2015!

Given the fact that passing gun control legislation against the law abiding hasn’t stopped a whole lot of killings, maybe Barack will consider something new. How about PAYING each prospective killer $25,000 for NOT taking out an enemy gang member or drug dealing competitor? Americans could save a ton, just like they did with ObamaCare! Fewer police hired, fewer investigations and trips to the hospital, or the morgue, the state picking up the tab for fewer funerals; it can’t lose!

A creative end to the “epidemic of gun violence.”

Now, who’s going to convince Barack that killers are more dangerous than law-abiding gun owners?

George Soros Spending Over $21 Million to Replace Scalia With a Liberal Activist

NATIONAL ALATHEIA LARSEN

In the wake of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s unfortunate death, several liberal groups — including the media favorite, People for the American Way — are pushing the Obama Administration to quickly nominate a like-minded justice. And the groups all have something in common.

Money.

Combined, Soros and the Ford Foundation (not connected to Ford Motor Company) gave at least $50 million, and possibly more, to organizations which hope to push the court further to the left through an Obama appointee.

Liberal media are pushing the same agenda by criticizing the GOP for wanting to delay a nomination. CBS and NBC blasted ‘the Republican roadblock” that they claimed was an attempt to not “follow the Constitution” on Feb. 16. NBC also gushed that Democrats were “firing back” to support the “ironclad” Constitution.

On Feb. 17, 2016, The New York Times identified six of the liberal organizations behind the push to get an Obama nominee quickly confirmed. Nearly all of the groups, which ranged from People for the American Way to the League of Conservation Voters, have one donor in common: liberal billionaire George Soros (The sixth organization — Americans United for Change — does not disclose its donors). The Ford Foundation has given to at least three of those organizations as well.

Since 2003, Soros gave $18,032,900 to People for the American Way, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and Alliance for Justice. The Ford Foundation gave an additional $28,907,564 to those same groups during the same time period.

Soros donated an additional $3,500,000 to the liberal American Bridge 21st Century and League of Conservation Voters PACs, which are also pushing for a speedy Obama nomination.

Not only do the groups have overlapping donors, their carefully crafted justice nomination rhetoric was also eerily similar.

Between Feb. 15, and Feb. 19, 2016, People for the American Way (PFAW), The American Bridge 21st Century PAC, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and theAlliance For Justice (AFJ) all condemned so-called Republican “obstructionists” who would dare object to an Obama Supreme Court justice nominee.

People for the American Way promoted a petition on its website telling senators to “do your job” by considering an Obama nominee. As of Feb. 19, 2016, it had more than 51,000 signatures. PFAW’s reach extends beyond just its readers, because the liberal media regularly turn to PFAW for hit jobs against conservatives. Soros gave PFAW $6,450,000 since 2003.

Alliance for Justice, which has received $1,825,000 from Soros and $3,430,000 from the Ford Foundation, has its own Judicial Selection Project which claims to “ensure our courts are staffed with highly-qualified judges that will safeguard the rights of all Americans… not just the privileged few.”

Nan Aron, president of the AFJ, wrote articles for both The Nation Magazine and The Huffington Post in February 2016 to argue “we already had an election to decide who gets to appoint the next supreme court justice,” and “we fully support President Obama’s decision to exercise his constitutional duty to nominate a replacement.”

Aron is not new to supreme court nominee battles. More than 10 years ago, CBS highlighted his liberal criticisms of then-nominee John Roberts.

The Tides Foundation, a liberal dark-money machine, gave $91,296 directly to the AFJ Judicial Selection Project in 2011 and 2012.

The president of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Wade Henderson, issued a press release on Feb. 17, stating “The work of the United States Supreme Court is too important to the nation to allow a vacancy to go unfilled for an extended period of time.” Henderson went on to claim that Republicans in the senate are ”taking obstruction to new heights of cynicism and are flirting with a constitutional crisis of their own making.”

In 2012, the media appealed to Henderson to slam Republicans.

Soros and several other liberal donors gave nearly $39 million combined to The Leadership Conference: The Ford Foundation ($24,555,633), Soros ($9,757,900), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation ($3,811,021) and Tides Foundation ($369,000).

SIGN THE PETITION: Do Not Allow a Vote on Any Obama Supreme Court Nominee

Soros also gave $3,000,000 to the American Bridge 21st Century PAC, which took a new angle on slamming every GOP candidate by telling “obstructionist” Republicans in Congress to “step aside” and make room for senators who would approve an Obama nominee.

Finally, The League of Conservation Voters, which rarely involves itself in the justice nomination process, has been actively contacting its 1.5 million members, asking them to push their senators to approve Obama’s nominee, according to The New York Times.

“It’s hugely important that the president nominate someone and the Senate acts. We will be more engaged in this effort than we ever have before in a Supreme Court nomination,” the league’s president, Gene Karpinski told The Times.

Soros gave the league $500,000 in 2014 and four of his children gave $20,000 in 2010, according to campaignmoney.org.

MARCO RUBIO, THE ASPEN INSTITUTE, AND THE CFR

The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors: they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men. Samuel Adams

Marco Rubio Affiliations

The Aspen Institute is sort of an American Bilderberger Group. In addition to the globalist Aspen and Brookings Institutes, there are a staggering number of private groups that shape and command American policy, including the CFR, and Trilateral Commission, etc. Nearly every elected official is influenced by them, and this includes Marco Rubio. The Aspen Institute is largely funded by one world government foundations such as the Carnegie Corporation, The Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Ford Foundation, none of whom have freedom and liberty as their top priorities.

Surely most folks remember that UN Agenda 21 author and promoter, Maurice Strong, was the Director of the Aspen Institute for some years. If you like Smart Growth and the elimination of property rights, you’ll love Agenda 21 and the Aspen Institute.

Aspen Institute named Marco Rubio as one of the top young elected officials to its third class of Aspen-Rodel fellows. The Institute’s Rodel Fellowships in Public Leadership program brings together bipartisan groups of public officials judged to be the rising stars of American politics. Isn’t that just lovely?

Aspen Institute President, Walter Isaacson, said the Rodel Fellows “represent the best hope for America’s future—upcoming leaders committed to working together for the common good.” The “common good” is code for the globalist socialist agenda of destroying free market growth and leveling all the playing fields.

Scroll down in the article to see the list of names including Marco Rubio, along with the photo of Rubio as Aspen Inst. Rodel fellow. link

Walter Isaacson is the former head and CEO of CNN and the Managing Editor of Time Magazine. Aspen participates in the Ethical Globalization Initiative (EGI), headed by former UN official Mary Robinson, who calls the International Criminal Court, which could prosecute and imprison US citizens, “a great legal enterprise.” Isaacson serves on the EGI board, along with global tax supporter, Jeffrey Sachs, an advisor to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan. George Soros is extremely involved in the Aspen Institute. Link Sure doesn’t make me feel warm and cozy. And there you have Marco Rubio…

Marco Rubio and the CFR

rubio and CFR

The Washington Post reported on Marco Rubio’s speech at the Council on Foreign Relations in May of 2015. He was invited to speak on foreign policy with member Charlie Rose, and was introduced by the president of the CFR, Richard Haass. Link

The American Conservative believes Rubio’s speech was pretty lame, but you can decide for yourself. He stated that America’s role in the world is as a security guarantor. Rubio also claimed as president, he would “use the American power to oppose any violations of international waters, airspace, cyberspace, or outer space. This includes the economic disruption caused when one country invades another, as well as the chaos caused by disruptions in chokepoints such as the South China Sea or the Strait of Hormuz.”

Personally, I do not believe we have any business being the world’s policeman, and neither do I believe the president has the right to use any military power without Congress’s approval.

The New American article on Rubio’s CFR speech, stated, “Were the 2016 election to be a contest between Marco Rubio and Hillary Clinton, the future of U.S. foreign policy would be clear. It would mean a continuation of the same policies that have dominated our nation since the onset of World War II — interventionism, more war, and more casualties.”

Rubio’s Liberal Voting Record

Is it any wonder Rubio has been named an Aspen-Rodel fellow, or invited to speak at the Council on Foreign Relations? Take a look at his voting record and you’ll see why these organizations love Senator Rubio.

Amnesty and Refugees - The Rubio-Schumer Gang of Eight amnesty bill likely would not have passed the Senate had Rubio not been such a prolific supporter. Link Link He’s now waffling on the fact that he is a great supporter of illegal aliens gaining citizenship.

Senator Rand Paul wanted to restrict the amount of Muslims entering our country, and his amendment would have suspended visas to 30 Muslim countries with Jihadist populations. Rubio, on the other hand stated that he would “hate” to block funding for Obama’s refugees. (Yes they’re Obama’s, they’re certainly not main stream American’s ideas of good immigrants.) Rubio even stated he felt limiting Muslim migration might be unconstitutional. Excuse me lawyer Rubio, but you obviously haven’t read any of our immigration laws lately. Needless to say, Rubio joined the rest of the Ryan moderate (euphemism for socialist) Republicans in voting down Rand Paul’s amendment.

Rubio has been one of the most ardent champions for increasing Muslim migration. The U.S. has admitted roughly 1.5 million migrants from Muslim countries since 9/11 on a permanent lifetime basis. Yet Rubio has sought to grow that number vastly. In 2015, Rubio introduced an immigration bill which would have allowed for an unlimited increase in Muslim migration. Link

One wonders if Rubio’s love of amnesty is payback. His grandfather was ordered deported by a judge after flying in from Cuba without a visa. Link

Trade Agreements - Remember Ted Cruz voting for Fast Track for the TPP trade agreement? Well guess who cast the deciding 60th vote to give Obama Fast Track? Yep, Marco Rubio!

The entire purpose of fast-track is for Congress to surrender its power to the Executive for six years. Legislative concessions include: control over the content of legislation, the power to fully consider that legislation on the floor, the power to keep debate open until Senate cloture is invoked, and the constitutional requirement that treaties receive a two-thirds vote. Legislation cannot even be amended.

By contrast, without fast-track, Congress retains all of its legislative powers, individual members retain all of their procedural tools, and every single line, jot, and tittle of trade text is publicly available before any congressional action is taken. Link

Tell me again how Republicans are the stop-gap to Obama’s destruction of America!

Food Stamp Reform - Marco Rubio is almost the only republican to take the democrat’s side on this bill. The bill would have saved taxpayers about 10 billion a year by blocking families with substantial assets from receiving food stamps.

When Rubio served as speaker in the Florida House, he stopped bills from coming to the floor that would have deported illegal immigrants in state prisons and that would have denied food stamps to illegal immigrants.

He even stopped a bipartisan proposal that would have allowed the deportation of about 5,000 illegal immigrants in Florida prisons, provided they had served half their sentence and agreed to be deported. Similar legislation saved $141 million and $13 million in prison costs in New York and Arizona.

Cap and Trade - As Florida speaker, Marco Rubio aggressively pushed for Florida to adapt to the inevitable federal “cap and trade program.” Cap and trade is an environmental system that hardcore liberals including former Vice President Al Gore support. A federal cap and trade program would be centered around a carbon tax.

Watch Rubio Back Cap and Trade:

Worst Attendance Record - Rubio’s attendance record for votes is one of the worst in Senate history. His seat is regularly empty for floor votes, committee meetings and intelligence briefings. He even missed the vote on Obama’s Omnibus bill which he probably would have voted for anyway, although he stated the outcome was predetermined.

That outrageous $1.1 Trillion Omnibus Bill funds the most horrendous programs, which also locks in huge spending increases!

  • funds entirely Obama’s 2012 executive amnesty for “DREAMers”—or illegal immigrants who came to the country as minors and has granted around 700,000 illegal aliens with work permits, as well as the ability to receive tax credits and federal entitlement programs
  • funds sanctuary cities (remember Kathryn Steinle)
  • funds all refugee programs
  • funds illegal alien resettlement
  • quadruples H-2B foreign worker visas
  • funds the release of criminal aliens
  • funds tax credits for illegal aliens, and much more

Political Influence

While the Majority Whip of Florida House, Rubio used his official position to urge state regulators to grant a real estate license to his brother-in-law, a convicted cocaine trafficker who had been released from prison 20 months earlier, according to records obtained by The Washington Post. Link

Marco Rubio’s brother-in-law was the ‘front man’ for a multi-million dollar cocaine-smuggling ring headed by a drug kingpin who ran the operation from an exotic animal sanctuary, it has been revealed.

Orlando Cicilia was arrested for his part in the illicit operation in 1987 during Miami’s narcotics heyday when Republican presidential hopeful Rubio was just 16. Cicilia, 58, who is now working as a real estate agent, served just 12 years in prison despite being sentenced to 35 for his part in the scheme.

Conclusion

American Bridge put out a Marco Rubio Report in 2012. It is 500 pages long, but tells a great deal about Rubio. Take a gander at it…really telling.

It appears as though we have a socialist Democrat running as a conservative on the GOP ticket….again.

Stay tuned, there’s more to come.

Scalia: Silence of the lambs

Scalia: Silence of the lambs

Outrageous days of federal infamy

“Associate Justice Antonin Scalia was the senior member of the U. S. Supreme Court and one of the 10 most important public servants in the country. For better or worse over the course of his 29 years on the Court, he was arguably the most influential person in America.” — Eric Mink, Huffington Post, 2/17.

We start here—from the NY Post, “Scalia could have been poisoned: forensic pathologist”:

“Lethal poisoning could have left Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s body in virtually the same condition in which it was found, a top forensic pathologist told The Post on Wednesday.

“’It would look like he’s asleep. It [poisoning] doesn’t show anything on the body,’ said Dr. Michael Baden, who spent 25 years in the city’s chief Medical Examiner’s Office.

“Still, Baden stressed that natural causes was a plausible explanation.”

However, the official pronouncement of natural causes carries a burden with it. The burden of some semblance of proof. In this case, there was none.

And if you think “none” should be SOP in the case of a US Supreme Court Justice, you need to think again.

Judge Cinderela Guevara, miles away from Scalia’s body, sitting on the phone, rendered the judgment of natural causes after talking with marshals, none of whom had forensic training; and after talking with Scalia’s doctor, who was a few thousand miles from the Texas ranch where Scalia died.

Apparently, Scalia’s doctor told Judge Guevara that Scalia had a heart condition. Yes? And? This is proof a US Supreme Court Justice died of a heart attack?

Guevara, like a true bumbling amateur (or was something more ominous going on here?), decided no autopsy of the body was necessary. She decided she was too busy (doing what?) to climb in her car and drive to the ranch, to oversee the situation and talk to people at the scene.

So she said, on the phone, “Natural causes. No autopsy.”

For a US Supreme Court Justice. In the biggest moment of her professional life.

And the Department of Justice, the FBI, the President, and all the members of US Congress immediately bought it.

No objections. No questions. No outrage.

Just the silence of the lambs.

In a city where blabbermouths never stop talking, suddenly—silence.

Paralysis.

And thereafter: no chain of custody for bodily evidence.

The body of a US Supreme Court Justice wasn’t put on a plane, from the mile-long airstrip at Cibolo Ranch, under supervision, and flown back immediately to Washington DC for analysis. No.

Instead, it was driven to the Sunset Funeral Home in El Paso, 230 miles from the Ranch. It could have been driven 65 miles to the Alpine Memorial Funeral Home in Alpine, but it wasn’t.

At the Sunset Funeral Home in El Paso, it was promptly embalmed—ruling out the possibility of a conventional autopsy. Even then, forensic pathologist Michael Baden states, toxicology tests could be done by sophisticated analysis. According to Wayne Madsen, reporting for Infowars, no bodily fluids were collected at the funeral home for later analysis.

Roughly 10 hours after the embalming, Scalia’s body was loaded on a plane and flown to Virginia, where Scalia’s family lives.

But “most people think Scalia died of natural causes.” That argument, for impaired minds, carries the day. Nothing more to see, nothing more to know.

“Old man, in ill-health, heart condition. He dies. What else could it possibly be? Natural causes.”

As reported by Eric Mink at the Huffington Post (2/17), in an excellent piece titled “17 Questions About Scalia’s Death,” there were 35-40 guests at the Cibolo Ranch on the weekend Scalia died. Who were they? Was this merely a quail-hunting outing? Or was it another kind of get-together?

No word. Silence. Why haven’t any of those guests spoken to the press? Do they know something that would shed a different light on the official story? Are they afraid? Did someone at the federal level throw a blanket over them?

Judge Cinderela Guevara spoke to a lawyer representing the Scalia family. He said the family didn’t want an autopsy. Who is he? Why hasn’t his name surfaced? Since when is a client’s lawyer’s name a secret?

Scalia traveled to the ranch with a friend. No one is saying who the friend is. That’s also a state secret?

Does the Cibolo Ranch have medical personnel on staff? If so, were any of them called when Scalia was discovered dead in his room?

The official narrative is: old man, long-time public servant, dies peacefully in his sleep of natural causes. This is the thin gloss that prevents any Washington politician with clout from demanding an investigation? This quiets and paralyzes the entire federal establishment, including eight Justices of the Supreme Court?

Cowards and lambs.

Not an ounce of conscience among them.

Neutered.

power outside the matrix

In the wake of this titanic silence, the narrative is quickly and expertly shifted to the question of who will replace Scalia on the bench. That’s the certified subject of chatter. Should Obama appoint a nominee, or should nomination wait for the next President? What is the rule? The Republicans cross swords with the Democrats. Precedents are cited. The man isn’t in his grave, and the hangars-on and petty power players are arguing over his successor. It’s a B movie. Pundits prepare talking points, clean their suits, see their hair stylists, and sidle into their minutes of face time on news shows. The shows deliver filler between commercials.

This is the wet concrete that sets over the death of a US Supreme Court Justice.

The man who could have swept aside all objections, and ordered an investigation, visits the flag-covered casket in the Great Hall of the Supreme Court, stands before it for 30 seconds, moves to a painted portrait of the deceased Justice, lingers there for one minute, and then goes home to vet nominees, a herculean task that will unfortunately prevent him from attending the funeral.

Omerta.

Parts of would-be Nazi headquarters in L.A. being demolished

The utility barn, built to house power generators for Murphy Ranch, appears to be the most solid remnant of the compound. Its walls are fully covered with graffiti both inside and on the exterior. It will be sealed off but remain standing. Photo by Eitan Arom

Tucked away behind an enclave of glass-walled mansions facing the Pacific Ocean is a relic of an ugly and half-remembered past, as hard to believe as it is to swallow. Built into a seam of the Santa Monica Mountains, not far from Sunset Boulevard, is a derelict compound once devised as the nucleus of a Nazi command center on the West Coast.

What little remains of the unfinished site — known as Murphy Ranch— has been warped by seven decades of decay and uncountable layers of psychedelic graffiti. Now, parts of the complex deemed unsafe by the city are being razed to prevent hikers from injuring themselves.

“It was, in fact, going to be the equivalent of the western White House for Hitler,” said Steven Ross, a University of Southern California historian who has researched the site. “What people don’t realize is that Los Angeles was a major center of Nazi and fascist activity in the 1930s.”

Murphy Ranch has long tantalized historians and hikers: allegedly a site in Rustic Canyon where Nazi sympathizers could ride out World War II and welcome a conquering Third Reich with a regal West Coast headquarters. Plans called not only for a vast mansion but libraries, equestrian facilities and extensive cultivation of agriculture.

More recently, the site has been the subject of long-running rumors about its looming demolition by the city of Los Angeles. Those rumors came to a partial fruition last month, when the Department of Recreation and Parks closed the area to the public and construction workers began removing some structures, including a shed and concrete cistern.

During a recent visit to the location, trucks could be seen hauling debris out of the canyon and down a fire road toward Sunset. Workers shifted metal wire and chunks of concrete with Caterpillar machinery, removing the last traces of the large cylindrical concrete cistern that was once covered in graffiti.

“The structures at the site were a hazardous nuisance that generated a lot of concerned calls into my office, [Los Angeles Police Department] and the park manager from people in the Palisades,” Councilmember Mike Bonin, who represents the area, said in a statement. “We worked with the Department to ensure we are preserving historic elements of Murphy Ranch, such as the gates leading into the site, but we need to put safety first and I’m happy the site is being made safe for hikers to enjoy.”

The fire department had been called multiple times to fish vandals out of the now-demolished tank at the entrance to the compound, according to a spokesperson for Bonin’s office. A sign now indicates that the area is off-limits until Feb. 23.

Some structures will remain standing, such as a large utility barn built to house power generators, but workers will be installing steel plates to keep hikers from entering the barn.

The move to scrap parts of the compound was hardly unexpected.

“Pretty much for as long as I’ve known about the site, the city has been threatening to tear things down,” said Casey Schreiner, the Los Angeles-based founding editor of the parks and hiking website modernhiker.com.

Recently, Schreiner authored an article titled “Help Save Murphy Ranch From Demolition,” which ran as the website’s centerpiece for several days and encouraged readers to contact city officials to oppose the demolition. He said the site’s history is unique enough that it should be preserved in some way, though he also acknowledged the potential liability issues for the city, which owns the property.

“It’s probably a nightmare to have that there, because people crawl all over it,” he said.

Hikers have hardly been shy about climbing a rusting metal ladder up to the roof of the utility barn. And the irrigation pipes that crisscross the compound are a testament not only to a nascent attempt at yoking the land but also to the potential for a modern trip-and-fall incident.

At the far end of the camp, past the brick footprint of what was, until last month, a derelict machine shop, is a stable in precarious condition, windows blown out and littered with debris, surrounded by a chain-link fence that has proved no match for a pair of wire cutters. The only sounds are the wind and the clicks of iPhone cameras minting new Facebook profile pictures.

The advanced state of dilapidation is part of the place’s photogenic charm as well as a reason for the demolition, slated to wrap up this month. Schreiner insists there’s another way, arguing the city could be doing more to preserve the site and its history. He has been trying, with little success, to figure out who personally runs the Murphy Ranch site as part of his work on an upcoming book on day hiking in Los Angeles.

“I have tried for months now to get a human being on the phone just to tell me who is in charge of this place and I can’t do it,” he said. “It becomes clear that the city of L.A. doesn’t have a desire or perhaps the resources to care for this land.”

The site’s history as well as its management can be hard to account for. In 1990, the Los Angeles Times described the compound and its founders as “a small group hoping to establish a Nazi utopia.”

Ross, the USC historian, first read about the site while researching an upcoming book, “Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews and Their Spies Foiled Nazi Plots Against Hollywood and America,” which tells of how Jewish vigilantes in Southern California monitored Nazi activity when authorities wouldn’t. He said a picture has emerged from his research of what was meant to be a “self-sustaining community” that could act as “headquarters for the whole Pacific Coast” of a Nazi protectorate strategically located halfway between Berlin and Tokyo.

The site — acquired by a person named Jessie Murphy in 1933, according to records — was going to house “a power plant, a huge water tank, a meat locker, 22 bedrooms and a bomb shelter,” Ross said. “It would have libraries, a swimming pool, a dining room, a gym.”

Blueprints from archives at UCLA obtained by Curbed Los Angeles show schematics for a lavish mansion with porticos, ballrooms and wide-open foyers — a residence fit for a world leader.

Whatever shady details exist about the plans for the compound, one thing is clear: They were never realized, and only a handful of outlying structures were completed. Shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the site and it was never completed, according to Ross. It served for a brief period as an artists’ colony before taking on its current life as a haven for nature-goers, but it never housed any Nazis.

Their loss is our gain.

How to get there: Driving west on Sunset past the 405 Freeway, take a right on Capri Drive until it intersects Casale Road. Street parking is available on the right, while the trail begins at a fire road to the left. Leaving Casale, you can continue straight until you come across the site’s historic masonry gates or save time by taking a staircase on your left leading down a hillside directly to the compound. Alternately, the site can be reached using Rustic Canyon Trail, which starts at Will Rogers State Park.
