The Classiest Debate Moment That No-One Noticed - Never Leave A Good Man Down…

‘65,000% radioactivity spike’: N.Y. Gov. orders probe into water leak

The next nuclear crisis?

In an “unacceptable” groundwater leak at the Indian Point nuclear power plant, three monitoring wells were discovered to contain “alarming levels of radioactivity,” the Governor of New York said, ordering an immediate environmental probe into the issue.

Health and environment commissioners were ordered by Governor Andrew Cuomo to begin an investigation into the leak of “radioactive tritium-contaminated water” at the Indian Point nuclear power plant after the operator, Entergy Nuclear Operations, raised the alarm.

One of the three wells in question, according to Cuomo’s statement, had “radioactivity increasing nearly 65,000 percent,” while in total the company reported “alarming levels of radioactivity” at three monitoring wells.

The cause of the contamination is unknown. The contamination has reportedly not spread off-site and does not pose an immediate threat to public health, according to the operator. Yet Cuomo noted that his first concern is for the “health and safety of the residents close to the facility.”

The Governor also stressed that authorities must ensure that the “groundwater leak does not pose a threat,” calling the “latest failure” at Indian Point “unacceptable.”

He tasked Department of Environmental Conservation’s acting commissioner, Basil Seggos, and the Health Department commissioner, Howard Zucker to “employ all available measures, including working with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, to determine the extent of the release, its likely duration, cause and potential impacts to the environment and public health.”

The Indian Point nuclear power plant, 25 miles north of New York City, is located in Buchanan and sits on the east bank of the Hudson River. It supplies about 30 percent of the energy to New York City. The site includes two operating Westinghouse pressurized water reactors – Indian Point 2 and Indian Point 3. The plant also has the permanently shut-down Indian Point 1 unit reactor.

Cuomo has been pushing to close the Indian Point facility for several years, arguing it is not possible to safely operate a reactor so close to the nation’s largest metropolitan area. Some 20 million residents live within 50 miles of the plant.

14 Year-Old Belgian Muslim Videotapes Migrants Gang Raping Drunk Girl

A 14 year-old Muslim boy recorded himself and 6 other “Migrants” gang raping a passed out girl in Belgium

How awful.

A 14 year-old Muslim boy recorded himself and 6 other “Migrants” gang raping a passed out girl in Belgium.

Five of the six suspects are Iraqi migrants.

Belgian police investigating a tip-off about the possible radicalization of a 14-year-old male student have discovered a video implicating him and six others in the gang rape of an unconscious girl. Five of the suspects are Iraqi immigrants.

The video was shot on a phone camera and reportedly shows the assailants laughing, singing and dancing around their victim, who has passed out after drinking too much alcohol. The men pulled the girl’s pants down then groped and raped her, police told the Belgian media.

Police officials in Ostend, Belgium’s largest coastal city, discovered the evidence of the sex crime as they were investigating a 14-year-old student of the Ostend Technical Institute, who had been seen showing his friends a photo of himself wearing military garb and holding a sub-machine gun. The gang rape video was found on the boy’s phone.

Democrat Party Bosses Panicked Over Bernie Sanders

“This has gotten way out of hand”

“This has gotten way out of hand.”

So goes the oft-repeated refrain from top-tier DNC bosses to rank and file operatives who are all now scrambling to try and figure out what is an increasingly serious Bernie Sanders dilemma.

The Sanders’ dynamic playing out within the Democrat Party is in fact a far greater and more important story than the Donald Trump vs GOP Establishment meme that the Mainstream Media has put on a repeating loop for the last several months. As combative and boisterous as Trump can be, his views represent a significant wing of BOTH the Republican and Democrat parties and are ultimately, a newly emerged America first sentiment that appeals to millions of voters.

Bernie Sanders on the other hand is a devoted socialist who has for the entirety of his adult life denounced the fundamental tenets of the Great American Experiment. He left the United States to honeymoon in the then-Soviet Union, a top-down government monstrosity that literally enslaved hundreds of millions of people across the globe. The USSR was, as President Ronald Reagan so assertively put it decades earlier, “…an evil empire.”

Sanders is the epitome of the radical 1960’s I hate America, crowd and his current appeal to so many younger voters is the direct result of an American educational system that has for some forty years been controlled by that very same hate America agenda. If not for the Democrat Party’s selection of Hillary Clinton as its 2016 nominee (a direct result of an earlier agreement between the Obama and Clinton Machines) Bernie Sanders would not be posing a serious challenge for the Democrat presidential nomination.

Hillary Clinton is simply an unlikable, lying, and utterly out of touch with reality choice that has now come back to haunt the Democrat Party Establishment.

“They have no idea what to do with Sanders. They don’t want to offend and politically displace his supporters while at the same time knowing that if this thing continues to grow, it will destroy the Democrat Party.”

Things are said to have become so panicked and contentious inside 430 S. Capitol St, (DNC headquarters) that current DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been warned this could prove the end of her career if she does not somehow find a way to successfully navigate the morass of the Bernie Sanders phenomena.

“She won’t be able to get a job washing dishes in this town.”

A clear sign of the panic button being pushed was when the Clinton campaign most recently was literally begging for more public debates and the DNC power structure happily encouraged that request. It was their hope that the more Sanders spoke, the less appealing he would become – a similar ploy utilized by the RNC to handle the, “Trump factor.”

Unfortunately for them, that tactic has yet to work. If anything, it has diminished Hillary Clinton’s appeal as the sound of her strident voice, her repeated wide-eyed refusal to accept any blame for wrongdoing, and the ever-increasing allegations of pay to play scandal and Wall Street millions has educated an entirely new generation of voters to the stink that has always permeated the Clinton political dynasty.

South Carolina is now the proverbial fire wall for Clinton 2016. The Clinton Machine has deep ties to the southern state and is spending millions to ensure victory in that soon-to-be primary battle. From there, the campaign hopes to see Sanders pushed back and ultimately off, of the nomination stage.

There is one very significant caveat to that outcome, though:

Should the FBI move forward with a recommendation that formal charges be brought against Hillary Clinton for the myriad of allegations surrounding her use of a private email and the possible pay-to-play wrongdoing involving the Clinton Foundation, Mrs Clinton will not likely survive that outcome. If the Obama Department of Justice refuses to proceed with the FBI’s recommendation, (as has already been rumored) Hillary Clinton would prove too toxic even for the notoriously forgiving Democrat voter.

At that point the DNC will be operating at DEFCON 1 – Doomsday scenario with a candidate still ready and willing to whisper sweet nothings to the American voter in an attempt to make this persistent Bernie problem all better:

The World Takes 4th Major Step Towards Creating GMO Babies in a Year

Is the world ready for ‘designer babies?’

A controversial fertility treatment requiring 3 genetic parents was recently approved by an elite panel of U.S. scientists and ethicists.

The 12-member panel, assembled by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, released a 164-page report outlining how scientists could ethically carry out such genetic engineering for the purpose of eliminating rare mitochondrial diseases – a process that would exclude girls.

The panel, which was created at the prompting of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), was tasked with mulling the ethical, social, and policy issues raised by the prospect of mitochondrial replacement techniques (MRT).

In its report, the panel concluded that “it is ethically permissible to conduct clinical investigations of MRT,” but that “certain conditions and principles” must be applied to ensure that MRT is carried out ethically.

“This will be an amazing breakthrough, benefiting patients who otherwise could not have healthy, genetically related children,” noted Dr. Owen Davis, president of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

Defective mitochondrial DNA affects about 1 in every 5,000 births, and can lead to serious and even deadly medical problems, including seizures, developmental delays, vision loss, weakness, and fatigue.

Gizmodo explains how a 3-parent embryo is created:

“One way to overcome these mitochondrial problems is to take two eggs, one from the mother and one from a donor. The nucleus of the donor egg is removed, leaving the mitochondria intact, and it’s then replaced by the mother’s nucleus. The resulting embryo has the donor’s healthy mitochondria, hence the term “three-parent baby” (though the genetic contribution from the donor is minuscule).” [1]

The panel said in its report that it believes the technology should move forward, but with a number of stipulations. For example, scientists would have to conduct extensive preliminary research in the laboratory and with animals to ensure that it is safe. Then, scientists should only try the experiment with male babies, as they would be incapable of passing their genetically modified (GM) DNA on to their offspring.

“Minimizing risk to future children should be of highest priority,” the committee writes. [2]

The FDA is expected to approve the technology, but it won’t matter, at least not for now, due to verbiage in the omnibus fiscal 2016 budget bill passed by Congress in late 2015 prohibiting the government from using any funds to handle applications for experiments that genetically modify human embryos.

“It seems like the FDA is disabled in this case by Congress,” said Shoukhrat Mitalipov, a pioneer of the new technique at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. “At this point we’re still not clear how to proceed.” [3]

The FDA released a statement saying that the agency will carefully review the panel’s report, and clarifies that the congressional ban prohibits federal health officials from reviewing applications “in which a human embryo is intentionally created or modified to include a heritable genetic modification. As such, human subject research utilizing genetic modification of embryos for the prevention of transmission of mitochondrial disease cannot be performed in the United States in FY 2016.”

The world is undoubtedly veering closer to the creation of designer babies. Just 2 months ago, some of the world’s top scientists gathered together to hammer out guidelines for the use of the CRISPR technique, which can be used to edit out snippets of damaged DNA. Like MRT, the scientists behind CRISPR want to use the technology for good, to prevent serious genetic diseases. However, in the wrong hands, both MRT and CRISPR could be used to create these so-called “designer babies” with physical and mental advantages over other children. [4]

Also recently, British researcher Kathy Niakan of the Francis Crick Institute was granted permission by the Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority (HFEA) to genetically modify human embryos. Niakan and her colleagues plan to deactivate genes in leftover embryos from IVF clinics to determine if it hinders development. Researchers hope their findings could prevent miscarriages and aid fertility.

In April, scientists in China sparked worldwide panic when it announced that it had created genetically modified embryos, infuriating the scientific community the world over.

However, 30 genetically modified humans were reportedly born in the late 1990’s. The embryos were injected with a third person’s genetic material, and actually have snippets of mitochondrial DNA from 2 mothers.

Tests on 2 of the children, who would have graduated from high school in 2014, show they have a small number of genes that do not belong to their parents. [5]

It’s unknown whether the children are healthy, but it’s possible that they could pass their genetic alterations on to future generations.

To quote TechCrunch:

“So even if no other humans are legally able to be created this way in the future, we’ve already introduced biologically modified genetic material into the population with the potential to affect large swaths of future generations to come via reproduction.”

Devastating! VIDEO MONTAGE of Robot Marco Rubio Repeating Same Debate Line 5 Times

Marco used the same rehearsed line about 8 times at the debate

This was devastating.

FOX News put together a montage of Marco Rubio’s rehearsed Obama line at tonight’s GOP Debate.

Marco used the same rehearsed line about 8 times at the debate.

Even after Governor Christie called him out on it he couldn’t stop repeating it.

It was like listening to a scratched record.

Marco the robot:

“Lets dispel this fiction that Barack Obama does not know what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing…”

Ford to More Than Double Mexico Production

Hunger Games Redux

Company plans to add 500,000 units of annual Mexican capacity starting in 2018

Ford Motor Co. will build a new assembly plant in Mexico and sharply increase Mexican factory output, representing the latest shift of investment abroad by a Detroit auto maker following the signing of a costly new labor deal.

The No. 2 light-vehicle seller in the U.S. plans to add 500,000 units of annual Mexican capacity starting in 2018, more than double what it built in 2015, according to people briefed on the plan. The plan mirrors General Motors Co.’s $5 billion investment to double Mexican capacity by 2018.

Ford will build a new assembly complex in San Luis Potosi, and expand an existing factory near Mexico City. The moves will make room for several models, including a yet-to-be-disclosed hybrid vehicle that is described as a Toyota “Prius fighter,” and allow Ford to focus its U.S. factories on higher-profit trucks and sport-utility vehicles.

Rubio Misses Moment as Donald Trump Rises, GOP Braces for Long Haul

Donald Trump, center stage, poised to start winning

The establishment finally struck back. But not in the way anyone might have imagined.

The first Republican debate since voting began revealed a still-unsettled field with as many variables as quarrels among the candidates. Marco Rubio’s post-Iowa momentum likely stalled in a flurry of repetition while the three governors in the field made strong, final pitches for New Hampshire to revive their candidacies.

By the end of ABC News’ debate Saturday, the GOP’s new center of gravity looked much like the old one: Donald Trump, center stage, poised to start winning.

AP FACT CHECK: Skewed GOP Claims

AP FACT CHECK: Skewed GOP Claims on Taxes, Health Insurance By josh boak and ricardo alonso-zaldivar, associated press

Viewers of the latest Republican presidential debate didn’t get a straight story from the candidates on U.S. taxes vs. the world, the state of the health insurance marketplace under “Obamacare” or what might happen if that law is taken away.

Among other fumbles:

—Marco Rubio seemed unaware that Kurds are Sunnis.

—In his zeal to condemn the Obama administration’s immigration record, Ted Cruz once again vastly overstated deportations under the previous two presidents. And he continued, as in a previous debate, to struggle with the meaning of carpet-bombing.

—Chris Christie misstated the U.S. policy on paying ransom to hostage-takers.

A look at some of the claims Saturday night and how they compare with the facts:

DONALD TRUMP: “Right now, we’re the highest taxed country in the world.”

THE FACTS: Far from it. The U.S. tax burden pales in comparison with that of other industrialized countries.

Taxes made up 26 percent of the total U.S. economy in 2014, according to the 34-nation Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. That measure looks at the entire tax burden, which is different than tax rates that can be gamed through loopholes, deductions and credits.

In Sweden, the tax burden is 42.7 percent of the economy. It’s 33.6 percent in Slovenia (Trump’s wife, Melania, was born in the part of Yugoslavia that became Slovenia). Britain clocks in at 32.6 percent, while Germany’s burden is 36.1 percent.

Where is the tax burden lower than the United States?

South Korea, Chile and Mexico.

CRUZ, defending his vow to deport 11 million people living in the U.S. illegally: “I would note that in eight years Bill Clinton deported 12 million people. In eight years George Bush deported 10 million people. Enforcing the law. We can do it.”

THE FACTS: Statistics from Immigration and Customs Enforcement show that roughly 1.6 million were deported under Bush, not 11 million. Under Clinton, about 870,000 immigrants were deported, not 12 million, according to the Migration Policy Institute. So far, about 2.4 million have been deported under the Obama administration.

To get the swollen figures, Cruz appears to be combining deportations with arrests made by the Border Patrol in the previous administrations, according to the institute.

———

TRUMP: “The insurance companies are getting rich on Obamacare.”

THE FACTS: Although some insurance companies are making a profit from their business under President Barack Obama’s health care law, the industry’s biggest player lost money.

United Health last year reported deep losses from its business on the health law’s insurance exchanges and said it will re-evaluate whether it wants to continue in that market. Anthem, the second-largest insurer, said its enrollment in the law’s markets fell, and the business has been less profitable than expected.

Aetna, the third-largest insurer, said it has been struggling with customers who sign up for coverage outside the health law’s annual enrollment window and then use a lot of care. This dumps claims on the insurer without providing enough premium revenue to counter those costs.

Some industry analysts say insurers are struggling to attract enough healthy patients, and it’s too easy for customers to manipulate the system by doing things like signing up for coverage, using health care, and then stopping premium payments.

A dozen of the 23 nonprofit health insurance co-ops created under the law have folded.

RUBIO: “Under Chris Christie’s governorship of New Jersey, they’ve been downgraded nine times in their credit rating. This country already has a debt problem, we don’t need to add to it by electing someone who has experience at running up and destroying the credit rating of his state.”

CHRISTIE: “Incorrect and incomplete information.”

THE FACTS: Rubio is right that the state’s credit rating has been downgraded nine times since Christie took office, a reflection of concern by the major rating agencies about New Jersey’s fiscal health and pension system.

———

CHRISTIE: “The president and his former secretary of state are for paying ransoms for hostages. When (you) do that, you endanger even more Americans around the world to be the subject of this type of hostage-taking and illegal detention.”

THE FACTS: President Barack Obama said exactly the opposite in June, when the White House reaffirmed its opposition to paying ransom to terrorist groups that hold American citizens hostage.

The president said such payments only serve to endanger more Americans and finance “the very terrorism that we’re trying to stop” — points that Christie actually echoed during the debate.

Though the new White House policy precludes ransom payments by the U.S. government, the Obama administration did leave open the door to communication with hostage-takers — whether by the government, families of victims or third-parties — and said relatives who on their own decide to pay ransom won’t be threatened with prosecution.

———

CRUZ: “We will adopt commonsense reforms, No. 1, we’ll allow people to purchase health insurance across state lines that will drive down prices and expand the availability of low-cost catastrophic insurance.”

THE FACTS: Allowing the interstate sale of health insurance policies is not a new idea, and not the straightforward solution that it may sound.

This long-standing Republican proposal has previously run into opposition from regulators in many states. State insurance and consumer protection regulators say such an approach could trigger a “race to the bottom,” allowing skimpy out-of-state policies to undercut benefits that individual states require. Proponents of interstate competition say a basic benefits plan would be spelled out.

Some insurance industry insiders see another complication: Out-of-state companies may not have adequate local networks of hospitals and doctors.

It’s a tricky position for Republicans in Washington, who argue broadly (Cruz included) that the federal government should defer to state and local decision-making. On this matter, many states don’t want the solution that Republicans are pushing.

———

RUBIO on fighting the Islamic State group: “The Kurds are incredible fighters and they will liberate the Kurdish areas, but Kurds cannot and do not want to liberate and hold Sunni villages and towns.”

THE FACTS: The Kurds are overwhelmingly Sunni. Rubio did not distinguish between Sunni Arabs and Sunni Kurds. The areas predominantly held by IS fighters are in Sunni Arab territory. They did infiltrate Kurdish regions in both Iraq and Syria, but it is problematic to paint this picture with a broad sectarian brush.

———

CRUZ, defending his vow to “carpet bomb” to defeat the Islamic State: “When I say saturation carpet bombing, that is not indiscriminate. That is targeted at oil facilities. It’s targeted at the oil tankers… It’s using overwhelming air power.”

THE FACTS: Cruz is trying to rewrite the dictionary, which defines the term as dropping many bombs on a small area to prepare it for advancing ground troops. The U.S. military uses precision-guided bombs against the kinds of specific targets that Cruz is talking about, which also reduce the risk of killing civilians — a goal the U.S. military has embraced under Republican as well as Democratic presidents.

THEY’D RATHER LOOK GOOD AND LOSE THAN ADMIT TRUMP IS THE BEST CANDIDATE

RINO titanic

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

Our nation is in deep trouble. Our world is burning down and an anti-American in the White House is fanning the flames. We the people who love America must do something to save ourselves now! We have been let down by the fake conservatives we sent to Washington to put out the fire and start fixing the damage. They have laughed in our faces. We have reluctantly put our faith in the Supreme Court to halt the advance of unconstitutional legislation; but the justices have stabbed us in the back and twisted the blade with smug talk about the fix being “up to the people.”

Until last summer we had no one to champion our cause. It was only us. That has changed with the emergence of Donald Trump as the frontrunner in the Republican primaries. We now have a once in a lifetime opportunity to fix what is wrong and save our country; and we simply cannot squander it.

Yet there are those whose demands for conservative purity have caused them to first scoff at Trump, then throw their “Flavor of the Month” candidate at him to take him out. Since that didn’t work they are lecturing us and pushing Ted Cruz, a man who is a proven liar. Worse still, more than a third of voters believe Cruz is not eligible to be the president. Ted Cruz is not an alternative, but just another way to pat us on the head and tell us to “run along.”

These chattering purists are frightened of losing their influence over us when Trump wins. With no particular credentials, save for knowing yesterday’s political rules, they presume to tell us we don’t know what is good for us. It’s time for them to get out of the way. Those of us who don’t want to keep rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic have to seize the moment and take control of our own lives.

Where our “betters” think they get the justification to tell us what is good for us is no longer important. They would rather look good and lose the country than look bad among themselves and support Trump.

Donald Trump is the only man in the field who can be successful in a general election. He has the talent and will to fix America’s problems.
