But Clinton’s claim that she did not use such devices is questionable given that her emails, which have been released by the State Department, show that she sent dozens of messages while visiting China and Russia.
“Every time I went to countries like China or Russia we couldn’t take our computers, we couldn’t take our personal devices, we couldn’t take anything off the plane because they’re so good,” Clinton said at an event held on Nov. 9, 2014, several months before news of her personal email use broke.
Clinton used a personal BlackBerry hooked up to her personal email account to conduct government business while in office. The emails were maintained on a private email server managed by State Department IT specialist Bryan Pagliano.
Curly Haugland of the Republican National Committeeman for North Dakota said in a letter sent out on March 11 delegates may “vote according to their personal choice in all matters to come before the Republican National Convention, including the vote to nominate the Republican Candidate for President” and disregard voters.
Haugland dismisses primaries as “nearly worthless ‘beauty contests’” and believes delegates “have been bound only once in the history of the Republican Party.”
In 1976, the Ford campaign, afraid of losing “pledged” delegates to Reagan forces and having the strength of delegate numbers needed, forced the adoption of the “Justice Resolution” which amended the convention rules to bind the delegates to cast their convention votes according to the results of binding primaries.
According to Haugland instead of “pledged” delegates—pledged to the wish of the American voter—delegates should be free to “vote their conscience.”
He continues: “Every delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention is a completely free agent, free to vote for the candidate of their choice on every ballot at the convention in Cleveland in July. Every delegate is a Superdelegate!”
If not for Donald Trump, this would not be an issue—establishment candidates invariably go on to claim the nomination and fight it out in the general election with a Democrat, similarly chosen by delegates beholden to the party and the establishment.
Democrat Party Rigs the Process with Superdelegates
“Superdelegates were created in part to give Democratic party elites the opportunity to put their finger on the scale and prevent nominations like those of George McGovern in 1972 or Jimmy Carter in 1976, which displeased party insiders,” writes Nate Silver.
Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz made this perfectly clear in February when she admitted the system is rigged (for the sake of “diversity,” of course):
Unpledged delegates exist really to make sure that party leaders and elected officials don’t have to be in a position where they are running against grass-roots activists. We are, as a Democratic Party, really highlight and emphasize inclusiveness and diversity at our convention, and so we want to give every opportunity to grass-roots activists and diverse committed Democrats to be able to participate, attend and be a delegate at the convention. And so we separate out those unpledged delegates to make sure that there isn’t competition between them.
In order to make this palatable to PC sensitive Democrats, Wasserman Schultz added:
We separate those so that we don’t have elected officials and party leaders running against the activists, but want to make sure are helping to diversify our convention. That is something we take great pride in. A Native-American cancer survivor. Those people should have an opportunity to be delegates, too. And they shouldn’t have to deal with very well-known officials and party leaders. And that’s why we separate them.
This is not only absurd, it is insulting—the DNC does not care about Native American cancer survivors, it is only concerned with making sure an establishment vetted candidate makes it into the presidential election.

Wasserman Schultz is stunning in her effrontery, both for her fabrication—does anybody really believe that the superdelegate system was set up so that Native-American cancer survivors could run?—and for her paternalism: Does she really think that “Native-American cancer survivors” want to sit at the kid’s table, and don’t want to “deal with” “very well-known officials and party leaders”? Personally, I’d like to deal with them very much, and even have some ideas about how to go about doing it.
A chart included in Strether’s post reveals the corporate allegiance of super delegates during the Obama presidential run: they worked for Goldman Sachs, Verizon, JPMorgan, Pfizer, News Corp., and various SuperPACs controlled by corporate clients.
Grafting the Superdelegate Scam on the GOP
Haugland’s letter announced establishment Republicans have more or less adopted the Democrat super delegate process in an effort to make sure Donald Trump does not emerge from the convention a winner.
“If the Republican nomination were contested under Democratic delegate rules instead, Trump would find it almost impossible to get a majority of delegates, and a floor fight in Cleveland would already be all but inevitable,” writes Silver.
It is not clear if the Republican strategy will work. However, it does signal that the GOP is busy attempting to fix the race and steal the nomination for one of the candidates who will likely remain in the race despite dismal numbers.
Earlier this month it was reported previous presidential loser Mitt Romney was brought out of the closet to stump Trump.
“Mitt Romney has instructed his closest advisers to explore the possibility of stopping Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention, a source close to Romney’s inner circle says,” CNN reported. “Romney is focused on suppressing Trump’s delegate count to prevent him from accumulating the 1,237 delegates he needs to secure the nomination.”
Mitt is has a condition, however. “But implicit in Romney’s request to his team to explore the possibility of a convention fight is his willingness to step in and carry the party’s banner into the fall general election as the Republican nominee. Another name these sources mentioned was House Speaker Paul Ryan, Romney’s running mate in 2012.”
Romney and Ryan did not run in the 2016 primary and are not the choice of primary voters, but this does not matter. The only thing that matters in 2016 is saving the party and the establishment from the dangerous and resented outsider Donald Trump.

“High school students are ideal targets for recruitment by violent extremists seeking support for their radical ideologies, foreign fighter networks, or conducting acts of targeted violence within our borders. High schools must remain vigilant in educating their students about catalysts that drive violent extremism and the potential consequences of embracing extremist belief,” states an unclassified document released in January by the FBI’s Office of Partner Engagement, the agency’s primary liaison for the law enforcement community.
The document claims public school educators “are in a unique position to affect change, impart affirmative messaging, or facilitate intervention activities,” including informing on students. It calls for “observing and assessing concerning behaviors and communications” of students “embracing extremist ideologies.”
In addition to “designated foreign terrorist organizations,” the FBI program targets “domestic violent extremism movements,” including anti-government groups.
According to the FBI “some adults embrace domestic violent extremist ideologies [and] their beliefs can permeate family norms, oftentimes influencing their children. This dynamic fosters biases leading to hatred and intolerance, and drives the need for action.”
Conflating Sovereign Citizens and Constitutionalists
The FBI and federal and local law enforcement groups categorize many libertarian, constitutionalist and other groups and individuals as “sovereign citizens.”
According to an FBI counterterrorism analysis, sovereign citizens “may refer to themselves as ‘constitutionalists’ or ‘freemen,’ which is not necessarily a connection to a specific group, but, rather, an indication that they are free from government control.”
The FBI considers the Redemption Theory (the abandonment of the gold standard in favor of fiat currency), emancipation “from the responsibilities of being a U.S. citizen, including paying taxes,” and “conspiracy theories,” including the formation of global government and a police state, as indicators of extremist or sovereign citizen ideology.
A National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) report produced by the Office of University Programs, Science and Technology Directorate at the Department of Homeland Security in 2014 lists sovereign citizens as the primary domestic terror threat in the United States, followed by Islamic jihadists, “militia/patriot” and “extreme anti-tax” groups.
The document attempts to persuade law enforcement that sovereign citizens are a direct threat to them. “Such changing perceptions about what is a serious terrorist threat is an important finding because identifying and prioritizing a threat is akin to hitting a moving target and evolves as new intelligence, data, and events develop,” the START report argues.
The FBI high school informer network initiative is part of a larger effort “identifying and prioritizing” supposed threats.
Informant Culture
The FBI initiative—the latest manifestation of the “see something, say something” surveillance matrix—further engenders a government informant culture that shares a parallel with East Germany’s “Inoffizieller Mitarbeiter” or informal collaborator culture.
This Stasi network served as a primary instrument of repression in communist East Germany. The government forged partnerships with business, state institutions and social organizations. It is estimated that the Stasi had an informal collaborator or informant network exceeding 624,000 people (in 1989, at the height of Stasi power, the population of East Germany was 16.5 million).
Former intelligence professionals are well aware the United States is well on its way to becoming a totalitarian high-tech surveillance state that will soon rival the East German variant.
In January 2015 a delegation of Sam Adams Associates for Integrity in Intelligence—which included ex-officers from the NSA, CIA and British MI5—visited the Stasi museum in Berlin.
“As the former intelligence officers-turned-whistleblowers walked among the well-preserved offices and conference rooms of a former totalitarian state’s internal spy apparatus,” writes Elizabeth Murray, who served as Deputy National Intelligence Officer for the Near East in the National Intelligence Council, “the sense of deja vu and irony of what the United States of America has become was clearly not lost on any of them.”

Late in his second term, Obama is starting to become extremely aggressive with the rest of the world. He just angered China by sailing an aircraft carrier task force past disputed islands in the South China Sea, he is provoking North Korea by simulating an invasion of that nation during a military exercise that is going to involve more than 300,000 troops, and he is backing Saudi Arabia and Turkey as they make moves that could very well start World War III in the Middle East. If a war did begin, that could give Obama the excuse that he needs to exercise his emergency powers, and that could potentially include suspending the election that is scheduled for November.
I know that all of this sounds a little bizarre, but it would help to explain Obama’s extremely aggressive behavior lately.
For example, why is the U.S. military risking a major incident on the Korean peninsula?
North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un is about as paranoid as they come, and he is extremely alarmed by the massive military exercise that is about to begin in South Korea. More than 300,000 troops are gathering for what is being billed as the biggest military exercise in the history of that nation.
Reportedly, U.S. and South Korean forces plan to simulate an invasion of North Korea and practice the elimination of North Korea’s weapons of mass destruction.
In response to these “exercises”, Kim Jong Un has placed his nuclear weapons on standby for “use at any moment”, and he is warning that North Korea may launch a “preemptive and offensive nuclear strike”…
North Korea warned it would make a “preemptive and offensive nuclear strike” in response to joint U.S.-South Korean military exercises that began Monday.
The news was announced in a statement by the National Defense Commission of North Korea and published in the state-run Korean Central News Agency.
“As the joint military exercises to be staged by the enemies are regarded as the most undisguised nuclear war drills aimed to infringe upon the sovereignty of the DPRK, its military counteraction will be more preemptive and offensive nuclear strike to cope with them,” the statement read.
I don’t care how crazy someone is – if they have nuclear weapons and they threaten to hit the United States with a preemptive nuclear strike, I am going to get alarmed.
Remember, North Korea did claim to successfully test a hydrogen bomb in January, and the North Koreans did successfully launch a satellite into orbit in February.
The North Koreans absolutely hate us. In fact, hatred for the United States is one of the pillars of their society. I know that may sound strange to many Americans, but it is true. If you can believe it, each year they actually have an entire monthduring which hatred for America is celebrated.
Tensions on the Korean peninsula are running extremely high, and a single hydrogen bomb could potentially kill millions of people.
So why risk an incident?
Why provoke North Korea more than necessary?
Meanwhile, the Obama administration has been provoking China in the South China Sea.
Yes, it is a problem that China has seized control of several important islands in the Spratly and Paracel island chains. But there are other ways to handle this crisis rather than trying to show how tough you are.
Last month, China deployed surface-to-air missile systems on the disputed islands. Obama’s response was to sail an aircraft carrier task force past the islands to see if China would start shooting at it. The following comes from an article about this incident that was posted by the Navy Times…
The U.S. Navy has dispatched a small armada to the South China Sea.
The carrier John C. Stennis, two destroyers, two cruisers and the 7th Fleet flagship have sailed into the disputed waters in recent days, according to military officials. The carrier strike group is the latest show of force in the tense region, with the U.S. asserting that China is militarizing the region to guard its excessive territorial claims.
Stennis is joined in the region by the cruisers Antietam and Mobile Bay, and the destroyers Chung-Hoon and Stockdale. The command ship Blue Ridge, the floating headquarters of the Japan-based 7th Fleet, is also in the area, en route to a port visit in the Philippines. Stennis deployed from Washington state on Jan. 15.
Do we really want to go to war with China over these islands?
The first time we sailed a military vessel through those waters after China had claimed those islands, a Chinese state-run newspaper boldly declared that China “is not frightened to fight a war with the U.S. in the region“.
Most Americans don’t realize this, but our relationship with China is rapidly going downhill. There is more to this than just the South China Sea, but without a doubt this is a major point of contention as far as the Chinese government is concerned.
At the same time, we keep getting closer to World War III erupting in the Middle East. Last month, defense ministers from 49 different nations met in Brussels to discuss a ground invasion of Syria, and since that time forces have been massing in northern Saudi Arabia and southern Turkey.
If a ground invasion of Syria does take place, the goal would be to go to Damascus and take down the Assad regime. That would put “coalition forces” in direct conflict with Iran, Hezbollah and most importantly the Russians. It could very easily be the spark that sets off World War III, but Saudi Arabia, Turkey and their allies will never go ahead without the direct approval of the Obama administration.
Barack Obama does not need all of these flashpoints to erupt in order to evoke his emergency powers.
He just needs one of them.
Throughout American history, presidents have always had emergency powers, but since 9/11 these powers have been greatly enhanced. Given the right circumstances, a U.S. president could now essentially declare himself (or herself) a dictator for the duration of the crisis.
Of course the word “dictator” would never actually be used, but that would be the reality of the situation.
And if we had a “national emergency” that was bad enough, Barack Obama would have the authority to postpone or suspend the upcoming election.
Let us hope and pray that does not happen, but the truth is that such a scenario could actually take place. Hopefully what we are witnessing around the globe right now are not attempts by Obama to artificially manufacture such a crisis. Let us hope and pray that when his time is up that Obama is ready to gracefully move into retirement.

Fox News’ resident Judge, Andrew Napolitano reacted to last night’s news that Bryan Pagliano, the aide who setup the server, is working with the DOJ.
“This is enough to shake the American political system to its foundation.” Napolitano urged
Napolitano reasoned that the fact that the FBI has pushed for and been granted immunity for Pagliano indicates that the DOJ is more intimately involved than it at first appeared.
Immunity is usually granted to a witness when they have evidence that could implicate themselves if they testify.
Napolitano went on to explain that the immunity also indicates that the DOJ has probably already convened a Grand Jury, signaling that the FBI feels it has enough evidence to indict Clinton and begin a criminal trial.
“He (Pagliano) knows who led it and he knows who was in it, and he’s about to spill the beans to a grand jury,” Napolitano said.
The Judge added that Hillary “should be terrified of the fact that he’s been granted immunity.”
“Mr. Pagliano is their nightmare,” Napolitano noted.
Pagliano had previously pleaded the fifth and refused to answer any questions. It appears that has now changed.
Napolitano added that a Clinton indictment “will shake the Democratic Party and the American political establishment to the core.”
ABC correspondent Jonathan Karl also noted that the FBI is now “very likely” to indict Clinton:
“This is the cloud that just won’t go away,” Karl said on Good Morning America. “The latest reports are an indication that this remains very much an active FBI investigation, and although there’s absolutely no indication that Clinton herself is a target, it is very likely that she will be asked to testify, or at least come in and take questions from the FBI in the coming weeks.”
The Clinton campaign is desperately attempting to spin the FBI investigation into a positive, with campaign spokesman Brian Fallon announcing that the campaign was “pleased” that Pagliano is now speaking to investigators.
Meanwhile, Hillary herself was partying last night at a fundraiser concert featuring Elton John and Katy Perry.

King said Clinton is somebody “they can do business with” if Cruz or Trump come out on top.
“We’re going to have something like 70 percent of the vote that comes in here today, and they’re going to be anti-Establishment votes,” King told Breitbart News Daily. He characterized the 2016 primary as a “revolt against the Establishment in the Republican Party.”
King said he believes Republicans will support Clinton “because I’m watching them throw a tantrum right now in Iowa, and they have put, I will say, millions of dollars on the table to recruit a primary opponent against me, because they are sore losers in the Iowa caucus,” King explained. “When Cruz won the Iowa caucus, they decided, we’re going to teach Steve King a lesson.”
In October a Quinnipiac poll found Clinton narrowly ahead of Trump, thanks in part to 10 percent of self-identified Republicans backing her.
In November WND reported a lunch hosted by former US Ambassador to the European Union Rockwell Schnabel.
“In attendance in a private dining room of the Hotel Bel-Air were powerful donors said to include Ronald Spogli, the venture capitalist and former ambassador to Italy under President George W. Bush; his business partner Bradford Freeman” and former Los Angeles Mayor Dick Riordan.
The donors were reportedly asked a hypothetical question: “If it was Donald Trump running against Hillary Clinton, who would you vote for?”
“One version has it that most of the Republicans at the table put their hands up for Clinton,” The Hill reported.
The Republican establishment is so horrified they “will do anything they can to stop Mr. Trump from being the GOP nominee,” according to Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s campaign manager.
Beyond social issues there is little substantive difference between Democrats and Republicans. Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state has been roundly praised by many Republicans and those who served Republican presidents, including Henry Kissinger.
Clinton’s predecessor, Condoleezza Rice, believes “Hillary Clinton, is an extremely talented woman. She is a woman of integrity” and has “done a fine job” at the State Department.
Former Secretary of Homeland Security under Bush, Tom Ridge, “offered some praise for Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, saying he always had ‘productive’ meetings with her when he was in the Cabinet and she was a senator,” The Hill reported.
“Hillary Rodham Clinton, who many believe can win the 2016 Democratic nomination for president, if she wants it, is the winner of the 2013 Liberty Medal,” the Philadelphia Inquirer reported in 2013. “The award is to be presented Sept. 10 to Clinton by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, chairman of the National Constitution Center and a possible contender for the 2016 Republican nomination. Politics aside, Bush praised Clinton in a statement released Thursday announcing her selection. ‘Former Secretary Clinton has dedicated her life to serving and engaging people across the world in democracy,’ Bush said. ‘These efforts as a citizen, an activist, and a leader have earned Secretary Clinton this year’s Liberty Medal.’”
In 2014 Mike Huckabee, who recently dropped his candidacy for the Republican nomination, described Clinton as “smart” and “tough” and said she is “a policy genius.”
“I know her. I like her. I’ve worked with her,” said John Kasich, who is remains in the race despite dismal numbers.
Rick Perry, the former Texas governor who failed to gain support for the nomination, “agrees with Hillary Clinton. Or at least, pretty close to it. Asked [on August 12, 2026] at the Iowa State Fair whether he agreed with the former secretary of state’s assessment that a lack of prior U.S. intervention in Syria emboldened jihadists to penetrate Iraq, the GOP governor of Texas found some daylight with the potential future presidential rival. ‘I think on that issue she was closer to being right than she has been on some other ones,’ he replied,” according to US News & World Report.
Other miscellaneous Republicans also praise Clinton (see Correct the Record), revealing there is very little difference between establishment Republicans and Democrats, at least on foreign policy.
Donald Trump threatens to upset the establishment apple cart and disrupt its decades-long control over who sits not only in the White House, but also Congress.
As a wrecking ball Trump will likely swing the election in Clinton’s corner, although many observers are convinced he will beat her and become the next president.
This underestimates the control the establishment has over the “democratic” election process. On Tuesday in Texas voters complained votes for Trump were flipped to Rubio.
Election “irregularities” are now common. In 2015 a mathematician at Wichita State University said “some voting systems were being sabotaged” while Princeton researchers conducted a demonstration showing how it’s possible to steal an election with a Diebold voting machine in under a minute.
“In Republican primaries, the bias has been toward the establishment candidates over tea partiers. In general elections, it has favored Republican candidates over Democrats, even when the demographics of the precincts in question suggested that the opposite should have been true,” writes Jon Green.
Judy Frankel believes we cannot trust Diebold voting machines or the establishment.
“The 2014 midterm election results may have been a complete farce. All it takes is one insider who knows how to flip a switch and the outcome changes. When it comes to voting, should we trust our votes to a computer that doesn’t even spit out a receipt for confirmation? Do you trust your voting machine manufacturer?” she writes.
Vote fraud may be the final solution for the establishment in their desperate effort to defeat Trump and put favored insider Clinton in the White House.

If she wins the Florida primary on March 15 her nomination is all but a done deal. In past elections the state has proven pivotal in determining who is selected.
Democrats, especially black Democrats, are enthusiastic about Clinton and have rejected Sanders socialist bromides. In their zeal to defeat Donald Trump and the Republicans and put yet another statist Democrat in the White House, they have blithely ignored her track record.
On February 28, several days before the primary, The New York Times ran a piece highlighting the role Clinton played in the destruction of Libya and the murder of its leader, Muammar Gaddafi.
The newspaper cites former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, who said Clinton controlled the decision to invade the African nation and kill approximately 100,000 Libyans.
The invasion of Libya was “arguably her moment of greatest influence as secretary of state” and serves as “a working portrait rich with evidence of what kind of president she might be,” according to the Times. If elected her past support for illegal war will determine “when and how the United States should wield its military power in Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East.”
Unlike Obama, who is viewed and often pilloried as weak and indecisive, “her record on Libya illustrates how, facing a national-security or foreign-policy quandary, she was inclined to act” with devastating result.
Beginning in 2014, well before Donald Trump stormed the Republican party, the neocons began signaling support for Clinton. Robert Kagan and Max Boot, both members of the Council on Foreign Relations and diehard neocons, praised Clinton.
Kagan served as a Clinton foreign policy adviser during her tenure at the State Department. Boot celebrated the illegal intervention in the Balkans by Hillary’s husband. He was also a cheerleader for the Libya invasion. In addition to advocating the use of Super Hornets to pummel Gaddafi into submission, Boot urged the US to send Special Forces trainers to assist the “rebels” who were in fact, according to CIA linked Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, members and fellow travelers of al-Qaeda. Many would later join the Islamic State.
Social issues—abortion, gay marriage, and environmentalism—have historically driven Democrat voters and this election is no exception. Few care to realize, however, that when it comes to war and the national security state Clinton varies little from her Republican challengers, in particular Marco Rubio.
“A President Hillary Clinton would undoubtedly launch a more aggressive policy in Syria at a time when her party seems to want a deescalation from Mid-East wars,” writes Trevor Law. “While foreign policy doesn’t seem to be playing a large role in the Democratic primary it is still shocking that neither of her Democratic rivals have pounced on this disparity with her party. It remains to be seen if this will have a larger impact on the election as a whole but if she wins the primary it is bound to create an interesting dynamic for any of her GOP rivals.”
It appears the only dynamic in play is the prospect of Republicans crossing party lines to back Clinton to avoid voting for Trump or not voting all.
“I’m literally losing sleep over Donald Trump,” Max Boot told Zack Beauchamp of Vox on Tuesday. “She would be vastly preferable to Trump.”
“I’m not wild about Hillary, and I think she has a lot of weaknesses. I would be much happier if Sen. Rubio became president, and I’m much more in agreement with him… But at least Clinton is informed and serious on foreign policy issues.”
In other words neocons back a Clinton presidency because it will continue their agenda of conquest and destruction in the Middle East and a dangerous brinkmanship with Russia.
Democrat voters are oblivious to this. In November, when Clinton faces Donald Trump, those who rallied behind Bernie Sanders will line up and vote for Hillary Clinton. Both Democrats and Republicans vote along partisan lines and for Democrats the prospect of continued war and mass murder comes in a distant second to the prospect of Donald Trump sitting in the Oval Office.

Numerous callers flooded Austin-based radio station KLBJ this morning with reports of mistakes after they tried to vote for Trump.

According to KLBJ, “computer freezeups” and other “glitches” are causing voting snafus at locations all around Travis County.
Trump supporters previously accused the Rubio campaign of stealing votes in Iowa after the Florida Senator achieved a surprise third place finish.
If Rubio fails to secure a strong finish in today’s primaries he could be forced to drop out of the race altogether.
Rubio’s Super Pac has poured $1.5 million of its budget into Texas in an effort to take delegates away from home state favorite Ted Cruz.

Shortly thereafter, David Brodwin of U.S. News and World Report wrote “Flint: The Big Cost of Small Government.”
According to Brodwin, what caused lead-tainted water to gush forth from faucets in Flint were “attacks on investment in public infrastructure and on regulation of all kinds.” For these he blames “right-leaning libertarian interests,” although he does not name a single one.
America, writes Brodwin, has fallen under an “obsession with tax cuts [which] has reduced budgets to the point where they can no longer sustain basic infrastructure.” Attacks on regulation supposedly caused the failure of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to do its job. “Either its staff was buffaloed by those in power, or its professionals had been replaced by political hacks willing to ignore the mission of the agency.” Brodwin does not support these assertions with evidence.
But then comes a strange concession from Brodwin: “Local officials of the federal [Obama administration] Environmental Protection Agency failed as well.”
Brodwin’s conclusion is that “[i]f we don’t address the underlying ideologies that led to this problem, we’ll face it again and again, all over the United States.”
If you are wondering at what point in its history Flint, Michigan jumped onto the cutting edge of free-market thinking and practice, join the club.
Obviously Brodwin’s contradictory essay doesn’t begin to explain how small government caused lead-tainted water to pour out of Flint’s taps. From an economics perspective, what all the facts of the Flint case clearly point to is the all-too-typical failure of central planners to adequately think through the most important implications of a decision.
On 25 March 2013, Michigan state officials and the Flint city council (by a 7–1 vote) decided to switch the city’s water source from the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) to the new Karegnondi Water Authority (KWA), which would not begin operating until 2016.
In the meantime, an alternate source of water had to be found. The 26th of June 2013 was when the actual decision by the city (signed by the state-appointed emergency manager, Ed Kurtz) was made to hire an engineering firm to put Flint’s water plant into full-time operation, thus switching Flint’s water supply from Detroit to the Flint River. (The river was already Flint’s back-up water source.)
What city, county, and state officials all failed to do was take measures to ensure that the river’s corrosive water was sufficiently treated so that it did not absorb toxic lead from Flint’s water network.
Far from being unusually negligent for a government, this sad story is unfortunately understandable and predictable. Unlike the numerous suppliers of private bottled water, central planners have no competitive pressures to rigorously think through any and all of their decisions.
One civil servant in Spain, for example, just recently ended a stint of not showing up for work for six years. Successfully executing such a stunt in a private-sector job in a competitive industry is just about impossible.
While most readers of this site will have undoubtedly heard a lot about the lead-tainted water in Flint, Michigan, the stories that comparatively few will have heard about are lead in the water in Sebring, Ohio and last Wednesday (February 24) in Jackson, Mississippi.
Again, what should come as no surprise is that the same type of government bungling that put lead in Flint’s waters is on full display in Sebring and Jackson as well.
On 17 February 2016, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency fired two of its employees and demoted a third. The first employee who was terminated failed to verify that lab test results were received by a field office. In turn, this employee’s boss was terminated for not double checking the work of said subordinate who had a long record of incompetent job performance.
The third employee, the one demoted, was a manager who failed to notify his bosses that Sebring officials ignored warnings about their town’s lead-contaminated water.
None of the three individuals are being publicly identified. So much for state transparency.
In Jackson, Mississippi, of a hundred homes tested in January of 2016, almost a dozen had tap water with levels of lead that require correction. Fifty-eight of these homes had been tested in June of 2015 but the Mississippi State Department of Health did not (as required) notify Jackson officials that some homes had forbidden levels of lead in their tap water until January of 2016.
Progressives have placed a spotlight on Flint but not Sebring and Jackson because their ideology precludes them from acknowledging systemic problems with government and its central-planning process. Progressive economists such as Brodwin lay the blame at the feet of libertarian ideology. Worse than their delusions about the state, the ultimate dream of progressives is to outlaw just about all competition to government water.
They (including filmmaker Michael Moore) are apoplectic about Flint (and by extension Sebring and Jackson) residents consuming bottled water: it has to be transported in on “pollution-spewing” trucks and it creates waste and environmental damage in the form of empty plastic bottles.
When progressives succeeded at banning bottled water at the University of Vermont in 2013, the number of empty plastic bottles being discarded on campus actually increased as students, staff, and faculty members switched from consuming bottled water to less healthy bottled soft and other drinks. In other words, even in Bernie Sanders’s government-worshipping Vermont, consumers did everything they could to avoid government taps.
Years before the Flint, Sebring, and Jackson contaminations, an AP investigation in 2008 discovered everything from antibiotics, antidepressants, sex hormones, erectile-dysfunction drugs, to tranquilizers in the water supplies of twenty-four metropolitan areas with 41–46 million Americans exposed.
Consuming government water is a bad idea. At its very best, it has a repulsive over-chlorinated swimming-pool smell and even worse off-putting saturated chemical taste. At its worst it can be tainted with everything from trace or higher levels of Viagra or estrogen to dangerous levels of lead. Only a complete fool would regularly and solely consume it to the exclusion of its private alternatives.
Prior to the Oscars ceremony beginning Sunday, LAPD officers stopped and interrogated incoming attendees, searched their vehicles’ trunks and ran mirrors below undercarriages looking for bombs.
Once their papers checked out, drivers were free to proceed through a labyrinthine obstacle course of barricades where yet more officers were stationed.
Giant lines also formed at the fenced-off Hollywood Walk of Fame, where people walking the sidewalk were shaken down by police with metal detectors, while cops on motorcycles patrolled open areas.
“Everybody’s being suspected of a terrorist here on Hollywood Boulevard,” a man filming the spectacle said. “People’s bags are being checked. People are being wanded. People are submitting to all of this tyranny. We have a massive police state here in this country now brought on by 9/11, which was an inside job.”
Insiders last week blamed the Paris terror attacks for the upcoming Oscars’ “military state,” but it’s also possible police were concerned with a potential Black Lives Matter protest due to the “Oscars So White” controversy, as BLM demonstrators have previously protested and shut down various events.
With any luck, the outrageous martial law display will illustrate to BLM followers that the burgeoning police state is a threat to all races.

I believe Donald Trump is quite right in his tweet that Cruz didn’t win Iowa, he illegally stole it via fraudulent actions. Ted Cruz is not going to stop his lies and activities because he wants the White House. There are numerous stories of
vote fraud as well, mostly on the Democratic side, but questions have arisen.
It has become abundantly clear to the grassroots Republicans that the GOPe is not on the side of the American people. Ryan’s $1.1 trillion Omnibus bill, giving everything to Obama that he wanted, should tell the people where they stand. The GOP asked us for the House, and the voters worked to give it to them, they asked us for the Senate and again, the voters worked to give it to them, all for naught. Nothing has changed because they are complicit with the left in the same agenda. Anyone who believes that Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio are any different is still drinking the Kool-Aid of the Republican lies.
Mitch McConnell (and the DC Cartel) set up the Super-PAC and actually funded Ted Cruz in Iowa, and attacked Donald Trump. And we’re to believe that Cruz is an outsider?! In the February 4, 2026 edition of the Wall Street Journal, the
title was, “Ted Cruz Says Voters Don’t Want Attacks—Then Takes Aim at Donald Trump.”
It appears that the GOPe wants Rubio as president, but when Trump jumped into the fray, this created a big block of votes, and the GOPe felt it had to be split. They seem to feel they need to keep Ted in the race for now to hold down the Trump coalition.
Plans to Derail Trump
The Conservative Treehouse documents in detail how the GOPe plan was working as predicted, and how Mr. Trump has thrown a wrench into all their plans. The establishment had to modify everything they were doing when The Donald showed up. Levin, Limbaugh, Beck, Barton, Fox News, and the rest of them are all in on it. With Rand Paul and Santorum dropping out, weight will be thrown behind Cruz first, and then Rubio.
Back in 2012, I wrote a three-part article on Santorum, and was utterly disgusted with what I found out about him and his voting record. Had Donald Trump known what Santorum had done to veterans at the Armed Forces Retirement Home, I highly doubt he would have allowed him on the stage with him during the veteran’s rally.
Let’s take a look at what Cruz is doing in South Carolina. Remember too that Senator Tim Scott has endorsed Rubio. The GOPe is busy trying to oust The Donald, and even those we thought might be true to conservative values are NOT. Mr. Trump actually supported Tim Scott for his Senate race, and Scott had a wonderful interview with Trump a while back. So, for Scott to support “gang of eight” anchor baby Rubio, shows how the GOPe is working hard to oust the one who is not part of their globalist cabal. Oh yes, and Rubio endorsed Mitch McConnell for re-election.
Don’t you just love these establishment buddies and how they stick together?! McCain, Schumer, (another politician on Soros’ payroll), and Rubio…bipartisan efforts to destroy America. One of Rubio’s close confidants is Cesar Conda who has served as his Chief of Staff. Conda is an amnesty zealot and worked as an editor for George Soros, the nation’s chief amnesty supporter. Conservative Tree House tells what Ted Cruz is now doing in South Carolina. One of their readers sent in this information:
“I live in SC, and I received a call from TPC Polling – a push poll against Trump.
The last two questions came after I identified Trump as my candidate. They (recording) asked something about how Trump wanted to work with Putin, and “was that a good idea”?
Then they asked the slanderous question, saying that Trump wants to close veteran-owned small businesses because they made the neighborhood look bad, and does that make me very angry, a little angry, or not angry at all.
After that, the call disconnected.
It would appear Senator Ted Cruz’s campaign is picking up in South Carolina right where his campaign left off in Iowa – same tactics.
Kellyanne Conway has claimed the TPC Polling was not her organization, and she’s right. Conservative Tree House has stated that it is not Kellyanne Conway’s organization. Her organization was not responsible for this push poll. There is another organization called Target Point Consulting, but we’re not sure they were the push poll organization either. Our apologies to Kellyanne’s organization.
If you read my last article, you understand why the New York Times Co. v. Sullivan Supreme Court decision allows media and public figures to get away with these types of lies, especially when Trump supports the veterans and has for decades.
Lack of Discernment
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. For by their fruits ye shall know them! How sad it is that today’s Christians haven’t the discernment of a dead fish. They listen to the lies spewed by Cruz and believe them without doing any research on the candidates whatsoever. Of course, the pulpits are to blame, for even the pastors do not do due diligence on the candidates, much less God’s Word. If someone claims they’re a Christian, they all believe it without asking any questions. Obviously Cruz’s duplicitous and fraudulent actions are certainly not those of a true Christian.
Republican Howard Baker and Vote Fraud
There are any number of vote fraud reports in the Iowa Caucus of 2016, and many are even questioning Rubio’s votes placing him third. Why? Because Microsoft is Rubio’s number two corporate donor and has been for the last five years. [Link] Suspect? I think so. In today’s world, there are no coincidences.
Have you ever wondered where all this voter fraud originated? Oh yes, there have been oodles of stories about how the machines can be manipulated. Votes can be misrecorded, boxes stuffed, destruction or invalidation of ballots, hardware and software tampered with…there’s dozens of ways to cheat the public and destroy a candidate.
And then there are double deals. That’s where Republican Howard Baker got together with Democrat, former KKK member, Robert Byrd, and Baker’s sellout is still haunting America!
Throughout the nation there are over 25 million invalid voter registrations which have not been removed by competent authorities. Among America’s registered voters, 1,800,000 have been proven to be dead. Each of these situations provides opportunity for fraud by the party who survives on voter fraud. In Maryland, dead people have registered and voted after their death. Over 2,750,000 people are registered to vote in two states. (Many elderly will remember the countless dead folk in Illinois who voted for John F. Kennedy and won him the election.)
There is ample proof that twelve Indiana counties have more registered voters than residents. This is also the case in many counties in Ohio. Across the country, there are at least 160 counties spread over nineteen states that have more registered voters than residents.

Most aware Americans know about these breaches, only because of the diligent work of volunteers eager to help the RNC fight back. Since 1982, the RNC has been quiet, but they too are culpable. Their goal is to always elect one of their own establishment hacks.
This agreement between Baker and Byrd came about because Democrats in New Jersey, arguably one of the most corrupt states in America, complained that Republicans had been investigating voter fraud in predominantly minority districts. Among the specific charges was that off-duty police officers posted themselves at polling places to help insure voting integrity. [Link]
Incredibly, Baker agreed that “Ballot Security” should be defined as “any program aimed at combating voter fraud by preventing voters from registering to vote or casting a ballot.” Thus, ANYTHING Republicans do to stop Democrat voter fraud in any organized fashion can and is labeled “Ballot Security” to get federal judges to end it.
Fortunately, this agreement does not bind GOP state committees; and it will expire on December 1, 2017. Let’s hope the Republican minority leader at that time has more brains than Howard Baker did, but I won’t hold my breath.
The GOP sellout started a long, long time ago.
Conclusion
The New York Times v. Sullivan decision of the Supreme Court of 1964 basically said the right to publish all statements, whether true or false is covered by the first amendment. Thus, today newspapers and media and fellow politicians can lie through their teeth about others with no repercussions of libel suits. This is how Cruz gets away with doing the rotten phone push polls, lying about Carson leaving the race, and putting out flyers in Iowa that tell people they are in danger of violations if they don’t vote.
Voter fraud exists because fawned over, traitorous, Tennessee Senator Howard Baker, sold out the party and the American people. The only way we can counter it is to be precinct workers and watch everything very closely.
Donald Trump has a huge fight on his hands. He needs to come out with both barrels blazing now because the Cruz fanatics will use any subversive and underhanded tactic they can to get the votes.
To say I’m appalled that preachers actually believe Cruz is an orthodox Christian would be an understatement.
There is only one hope, and anyone with any discernment and ability to research and read, knows it is the true outsider, businessman, Donald Trump.
