Tylenol doesn’t help with the Flu

* Do our loved ones & friends KNOW?

  • Note taken from Health Sciences Institute e-Alert - Jenny Thompson - 12/23/15

Dear Reader,

‘Tis the season — and not just for jolly old elves and their reindeer!

Between the congested shopping malls and crowded family get-togethers, it’s easier than ever to spread flu this time of year.

And if you or someone you love comes down with the flu this winter, you’ll probably get the same advice that mainstream docs have been handing out for years.

Get rest, drink plenty of fluids, and keep popping the Tylenol.

But a new study proves that Tylenol and other acetaminophen products don’t do a thing to help you recover. And they could be causing liver damage that will linger long after your flu is gone.

The ‘cure’ that isn’t

“Relieving aches and reducing fever due to colds and flu for over 50 years.”

That’s how Tylenol is described at its official website designed for doctors and nurses.

The only problem? There doesn’t seem to be much proof that Tylenol helps with fevers (or much else for that matter) when it comes to flu.

Not for the past 50 years. Not ever.

Researchers in New Zealand took 80 adults with flu symptoms (over half who had confirmed influenza), and gave them either the maximum amount of Tylenol — a whopping 4,000 mg a day — or a placebo.

And there wasn’t a shred of difference in the way the two groups responded. Not in the severity of their symptoms, not in reducing their fevers, not on the amount of virus in their systems, nor in the time it took them to recover.

Nada.

What those in the Tylenol group did get, however, was pretty close to what the FDA considers an acetaminophen overdose. And that means they put their livers in harm’s way for absolutely nothing.

As I’ve been telling you for years, acetaminophen is the leading cause of liver failure in the United States. It sends 78,000 people to the ER every year.

And since the drug is found in hundreds of easy-to-buy remedies available just about anywhere, it’s easy to take too much without ever realizing it.

Worse still, lots of flu medicines pair acetaminophen with another useless — and potentially dangerous — ingredient called phenylephrine.

It’s marketed as a nasal decongestant, but as I told you earlier this month a study found that phenylephrine wasn’t any better for treating a stuffy nose than a placebo. Plus it can cause serious side effects such as swelling of your tongue and throat, a rapid heart rate, panic attacks and seizures!

So when flu products put acetaminophen and phenylephrine together, it’s like you’re getting a double dose of all risk, no benefit.

The best bet, of course, is to avoid coming down with the flu or any of its friends in the first place. The old standbys of getting enough sleep, eating well and washing your hands frequently can really help you stay flu-free, as can these important supplements:

  • NAC (N-acetylcysteine): This amino acid is an amazing antioxidant. It has been used for half a century medically to help patients with bronchitis. Unlike the two risky drugs I mentioned here, NAC was found in a study done in Italy to keep over two-thirds of the people taking it from developing symptoms from the H1N1 flu virus.
  • Elderberry (also called sambucus): The supplement is a natural antiviral and has been found in numerous studies to really help relieve flu symptoms. Elderberry extract comes in liquid, lozenges and even in gummies!
  • Olive leaf extract: First used in Ancient Egypt, olive leaf has been proven to give your immune system a boost. And that’s vital when you’re fighting flu.

To Your Good Health,

Jenny Thompson

Christians in China feel full force of authorities’ repression

Comment: Please read this carefully and never think ‘This can’t happen here’. It is already happening here. God promised it would in His Word.

Pastor Su Tianfu, a Protestant preacher from Guiyang, China, reads the Bible on his iPhone. His church was recently shuttered in a sweeping government crackdown. (Emily Rauhala/The Post)

Pastor Su Tianfu slides into the back seat and tells the driver to hit it.

He looks over his shoulder: “Is there anybody following us?”

It is days before Christmas, but instead of working on his sermon, Su is giving his tail the slip.

The slight and soft-spoken Protestant preacher is no stranger to surveillance. Su has worked for years in China’s unregistered “house churches,” and he said he has been interrogated more times than he can count.

But even Su is surprised by what has happened in Guiyang this month: a crackdown that has led to the shuttering of the thriving Living Stone Church, the detention of a pastor on charges of “possessing state secrets” and the shadowing of dozens of churchgoers by police.

[Why China is removing crosses from hundreds of churches]

A local government directive leaked to China Aid, a Texas-based Christian group, and reviewed by The Washington Post advises local Communist Party cadres that shutting down the church is necessary to “maintain social stability”— a catchall phrase often used to justify sweeping clampdowns.

The Dec. 9 raid on the church in a relatively sleepy provincial capital is conspicuous because of the timing — about two weeks before Christmas — and because the government’s tactics were revealed.

But it also speaks to a broader pattern of religious repression that is playing out beyond China’s mountainous southwest, as the officially atheist Communist Party struggles to control the spread of religion amid a broader push to thwart dissent.

“The overall environment in the past few years has been harsh,” said Yang Fenggang, director of Purdue University’s Center on Religion and Chinese Society. “There’s a tightened control over civil society in general, including churches.”

A question of faith

Unlike in many parts of the West, Christianity is thriving in China. ecause of tight restrictions on religious practices, reliable figures are hard to find, but the Chinese government generally puts the number of Protestants (a group it calls “Christians”) at 23 million and the number of Catholics at more than 5 million.

Foreign scholars estimate that there are 67 million to 100 million Christians in China — compared with 87 million Communist Party cadres. Yang estimates that China will be home to 250 million Christians by 2030. Evangelical Protestants, like Su, are the fastest-growing group.

The Communist Party has a complicated, often contradictory, view of faith: The constitution protects the right to religion, but the state is unwilling to relinquish control.

“The Chinese Communist Party is violently allergic to non-party organizing vehicles, whether they’re nonprofits, libraries or churches,” said Sophie Richardson, China director at Human Rights Watch.

That means you can be a Christian, a Tibetan Buddhist or a Muslim, but only on the government’s terms. Christians must limit themselves to “normal religious activity” at a state-backed church, where party dogma trumps religious doctrine and where proselytizing is forbidden. Local officials decide what “normal” means — and what is legal.

That level of discretion gives authorities wide berth to close churches, tear down crosses or arrest Christian campaigners as they see fit — a sore point between the United States and China.

This summer, Chinese authorities arrested Zhang Kai, a lawyer fighting the removal of crosses in Zhejiang province, just days before the arrival of the U.S. envoy for international religious freedom, David Saperstein, and weeks before President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the United States.

It put pressure on President Obama to raise the issue in meetings with the Chinese leader. In a news conference with Xi, Obama said he had expressed, in “candid terms,” his concerns about church closures in the country.

China rejects such criticism as interference. In October, state-backed religious groups urged the United States to stop acting like an “international religious police force,” according to the People’s Daily, the official newspaper of China’s Communist Party.

“Religious personnel embrace the rule of the Communist Party of China,” it said, while “a very small number of people . . . engaged in criminal activities under the banner of religious freedom have been punished according to law.”

And for the past year, members of the Living Stone Church have felt the full force of the law — and the vast security apparatus that accompanies it.

In a legal gray zone

Christianity has a long history here. Foreign missionaries have been working in rural Guizhou province, of which Guiyang is the capital, since the 1800s, spreading the faith among ethnic minorities in villages that dot the region’s thimble-shaped peaks. The pogroms of the Cultural Revolution led to the destruction of most churches and the persecution of many Christians, but the faith survived here quietly.

China’s economic expansion has since brought many of the villagers to towns and cities, where a sense of social dislocation and a longing for community are fueling a religious awakening.

When Living Stone was founded in 2009, it had about 30 members. By the time the church closed, services drew several hundred people at a time, according to interviews with seven members.

Here, as elsewhere, unregistered “house churches” operate in a gray zone — they are thriving but illegal, always at risk and sometimes ignored. As such, it is hard to know why and when crackdowns will occur.

A turning point for Living Stone seems to have been the acquisition of a meeting place. Church members pooled their money and last year took possession of a 7,000-square-foot space on the 24th floor of an office building called the Guiyang International Center.

Authorities let them meet there, sometimes, urging them to keep the gatherings small and social, not religious. After more than a year of warnings, arrests and threats, church members were given an ultimatum: Join a state-backed church or get shut down.

On Dec. 9, officials and security personnel swarmed the property, taking Bibles and songbooks.

A colleague of Su’s, Pastor Yang Hua, was detained when he tried to block police from taking security footage and computer equipment, two witnesses said. The day he was to be released, he was detained again, this time on charges of “possessing state secrets.”

Now, at the Guiyang International Center, the elevator no longer stops at the 24th floor, and police guard the entrance to the church.

“This is the site of an illegal cult and has been banned,” one officer yelled. “We are here to stop people from joining.”

They may succeed — for now.

Local officials say Living Stone’s members can join a state-backed church, and some probably will.

But many of Living Stone’s faithful would sooner relinquish Christianity altogether than join a government church.

“When it comes to our faith, we do not want to submit ourselves to a political organization. Our only leader is God in heaven,” said Zhang Tan, a church member who used to work for the local government.

Su said he would continue to worship on his own terms, even if it meant holding this year’s Christmas service at home.

“Faith and love of God cannot be chained,” he said.

VIDEO: Students Sign Petition to Ban ‘Racist’ Song ‘White Christmas’ from Radio

PROPAGANDIZED INTO TOTAL BRAINWASHING…so White Christmas means snow, and they are now so damned dumbed down they want colored snow or they’re too stupid to even get that White Christmas means snow? Hair pulling time!!!!!!!

Last week, I presented some college students with a petition urging radio stations to stop playing the holiday classic “White Christmas” because the song only focuses on “White” Christmases. This clearly makes it racially insensitive, since it completely ignores Christmases of other colors.

Students were all too willing to check their privilege and take a stand against Bing Crosby’s racially charged micro-aggression. Just watch.

Pat Robertson flays plan for Quran as ‘law book’

Christian televangelist and 1955 Yale Law School graduate Pat Robertson said he was shocked when the school sent out a mailing asking him to read the Quran as a respectable “law book.”

“The 700 Club” host told viewers Monday he recently received a booklet from Yale entitled “Reading the Quran as a Law Book.” The document was written after Joseph Lowry, an associate professor from the University of Pennsylvania, gave a lecture at the school Aug. 25.

“This follows Yale’s decision to create a Center for Islamic Law and Civilization after a Saudi businessman gave a $10 million donation to the law school,” Robertson said. “The dean says, and I quote, ‘Islamic law has a long and proud tradition, which encompasses great intellectual achievements.’ He’s got to be kidding! This is Yale Law School. They’re in the tank to the Saudis!”

Robert Post is a dean and professor at Yale Law School.

Lowry’s presentation suggested Muslims have much more leeway to interpret the Quran than non-Muslims understand.

“The Quran encourages frequent and open-ended reflection [of good works], in addition to promulgating specific rules, adherence to which is a necessary condition for salvation,” Lowry said during his lecture. This fact, that the Quran seems to promote the idea that there is generally ethical behavior, means we cannot say that the Quran is hyper-legislative and uninterested in broader conceptions of ethics. Indeed, the general character of what we might call ‘good works clauses’ leads a lot of scope for ethical speculation.”

Dani Sleiman, an expert in Islamic law who watched almost two hours of Lowry’s analysis of the Quran, disagreed.

“The Quran is the solid ground, the foundation upon which every Muslim follows,” Sleiman told Robertson. “There is no such thing as figuratively or optional. They have to follow the commandments of the Quran, so I’m really not sure what he’s basing it on. I read his book and most of his descriptions were of suggestions. He’s using terms like ‘suggested’ and ‘great unknown’ and ‘no real evidence’ and ‘assume.’ He’s trying to draw a theory. He’s trying to somehow dig out of it a way to show that the Quran has some peaceful verses.”

Examine this issue more closely, with “Muslim Brotherhood,” “Everlasting Hatred,” and “Mideast Beast: The Scriptural Case for an Islamic Antichrist.”

Robertson asked Sleiman how Lowry would explain Shariah law, which “has to do with the subjugation of women. It has to do with a husband having the privilege of beating his wife. It has to do with beheadings.”

Sleiman said it appeared as though Yale was dangerously attempting to give Islam a spiritual makeover.

“The Quran is basically a commandment. It’s the law. It’s principles and [Muslims’] understand that Allah wants every single [person] to follow these words. When Yale tries to basically endorse or apply the laws, then there will be no separation between the state and Islam.”

THE BEST SLAVE IS ONE WHO THINKS HE IS FREE…

HERE IS THE LIBERAL WAY OF THINKING, THIS IS OBAMA & HILLARY’S WAY OF THINKING, THAT’S WHY WE HAVE TO GET RID OF THEM.

Saul Alinsky died about 43 years ago, but his writings influenced those in political control of our nation today…….

Died: June 12, 1972, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Ca

Education: University of Chicago

Spouse: Irene Alinsky

Books: Rules for Radicals, Reveille for Radicals

Anyone out there think that this stuff isn’t happening today in the U.S.?

All eight rules are currently in play

How to create a social state by Saul Alinsky:

There are eight levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state. The first is the most important.

1) Healthcare Control healthcare and you control the people

2) Poverty Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

3) Debt Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.

4) Gun Control Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5) Welfare Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income)

6) Education Take control of what people read and listen to take control of what children learn in school.

7) Religion Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools

8) Class Warfare Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

Does any of this sound like what is happening to the United States ?

Alinsky merely simplified Vladimir Lenin’s original scheme for world conquest by communism, under Russian rule.

Stalin described his converts as “Useful Idiots.”

The Useful Idiots have destroyed every nation in which they have seized power and control.

It is presently happening at an alarming rate in the U.S.

If people can read this and still say everything is just fine they are useful idiots.

“It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere.”

Our Non Serious President

Immediately after the San Bernardino murders, the Obama Regime instructed the FBI and other state and federal entities to keep the name of the shooters off the air and unknown to the American public. This was done in order that the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Muslim Brotherhood and Jihadist front group, could be ahead of the curve in forming the narrative on the killings. And that is what happened as CAIR representatives contacted the brother-in-law of one of the shooters and plopped him in front of cameras at a CAIR-arranged press conference.

Farhan Khan (left); CAIR L.A. Executive Director Hussam Ayloush (right)

“There’s no comment. I mean, [the] investigation is going on. You would know what it is. I have no idea. I have no idea. Why would he do that? Why would he do something like this? I have absolutely no idea. I am in shock myself. I’m [a] normal person.” Such was the rambling, disconnected drivel offered by Farhan Khan, brother-in-law of San Bernardino killer Saeed Farouk, when asked if there was a religious element involved in the attack. According to Khan’s on-the-spot handler, CAIR-LA Executive Director Hussam Ayloush: “We don’t know the motive. Is it work, rage-related? Is it mental illness? Is it extreme ideology? At this point it’s really unknown to us and it is too soon for us to speculate.” Just 48 hours later, Ayloush lay claim to the blame-America narrative offered by leftists after 9/11 when he said, “Let’s not forget that some of our own foreign policy, as Americans, as the West, have fueled that extremism.” “We are partly responsible.”

CAIR is more than happy to blame America, our culture, our way of life and our beliefs for the attacks of Islamic terrorists. Obama, of course, is aligned with Islamic apologists throughout the country in blaming guns for events like that in San Bernardino. Raising the spectre of “weak” gun laws is an effective way to turn the attention of some Americans away from the failures of this administration; failures that include a woefully inadequate vetting process for refugees and immigrants.

Obama managed events after the killings in order that they might be in line with his narrative about Islamic Terrorism being so rare that criticism of Muslims must be driven by Islamophobia and not facts. Those facts, however, tell us that San Bernardino was “…the “75th Islamist-inspired terrorist attack or plot in the U.S.” since Sept. 11, 2001.

Political correctness, when added to the dangerous, anti-American agenda of Barack Obama will be the downfall of the country unless the American People wake up to the facts as they are. We have the “Clock Boy” suing for $15 million in what appears to be a dry run for additional money making schemes. Such plots effectively silence those who would otherwise “see something and say something.” It worked well enough that the neighbors of Saeed Farooq didn’t say anything about what they thought was a suspicious situation.

The American people are under attack, but Barack Obama claims our fears are unfounded, that we are wrong to react in a way that Regime sycophants equate with Islamophobia. We have an administration that not only ignores the threats leveled at Americans, it helps to spread the ideology of our terrorist enemies.

I didn’t agree with George Bush on everything, but at least I knew he was serious about providing a defense for this country and for the people in it.

Barack Obama is a non serious president; non serious about everything except advancing the agenda of the far left. That makes him a danger to the American people and to the nation.
