Hit And Run Horror

Female Cyclist in Criticial Condition After Dragged Half-Mile by Suspected Illegal Immigrant

Attorney: “Her body was literally being ground down by the pavement”

A female bicyclist in Texas is in the hospital after a horrific encounter with a suspected illegal immigrant left her badly maimed.

Austin resident Elizabeth English was in critical condition after last Tuesday night when she was struck by a vehicle in the Texas capitol and dragged for nearly half a mile.

The driver, Artemio Gomez-Avila, 41, initially fled the scene, but police nabbed him the next day in a nearby town.

Witnesses reported hearing screams as Avila continued to drive four tenths of a mile while dragging the cyclist along.

“She didn’t look human,” one witness, Roger Taylor, described to Fox 7 Austin. “She looked like an animal initially. Then after seeing that, we noticed it was a person.”

The extent of English’s injuries were horrific and left her highly susceptible to infection.

“Police records say she lost part of her buttocks, her right pelvis, and her lower spine was exposed,” reports Fox Austin.

Brad Houston, an Austin attorney that represents cyclists, said the accident was one of the worst he’s ever read about.

“Her body was literally being ground down by the pavement, and the driver of the vehicle had to hear it. I’m sure heard it,” Houston told KXAN.

“He was more worried about himself than the fact that he was killing a fellow human being, and that is very disturbing.”

Upon questioning, Avila first claimed he was unaware of the crash, and next blamed his cousin, but later confessed, stating he only felt a “slight bump on the passenger side of the truck.”

Avila is being held at the Travis County Jail on $100,000 bond with an immigration detainer hold.

In a boilerplate statement to Infowars.com, Immigration and Customs Enforcement did not mention Avila’s residency status, previous deportations, or his nation of origin, but the detainer suggests he may be subject to deportation.

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placed a detainer with Travis County Jail on Artemio Gomez-Avla on March 31. ICE is focused on smart and effective immigration enforcement that prioritizes the removal of convicted criminal aliens, recent border crossers and immigration fugitives who have failed to comply with final orders of removal issued by the nation’s immigration courts.”

A cursory investigation into Artemio Gomez-Avila shows he’s been arrested three times in the Austin area since 1998, once for DWI, another time for public intoxication and one count of burglarizing a building in 2008.

Elizabeth is recovering well according to a Facebook page set up to update on her progress. Friends have set up a GoFundMe account for her medical expenses which has since raised $31,000.

Leaked Memo Reveals How Trump Campaign Really Feels About Establishment, Media

America is sick of idiotic pathetic attacks’

A Trump campaign internal memo, leaked to the Washington Post, reveals the level of disdain that the business mogul’s team has for the political establishment and their media talking heads.

The memo. entitled “Digging through the Bull Shit,” is written by Tump’s senior adviser Barry Bennett, and eviscerates Trump detractors.

“So this week the media and the Washington establishment bashed the campaign with energy yet ever seen against a Republican candidate,” Bennett declares in the memo.

“You name the medium, and it was dominated with Trump attacks.” the note continues.

“The media themselves couldn’t wait to label the week, ‘the worst week ever.’ D.C. pundits scurried to the networks to proclaim that the end was at hand for Donald Trump.” Bennett also notes, pointing out the disconnect between Trump’s rising popularity and the media talking points.

“[It is] yet another pathetic display by the so-called experts who line their pockets at the expense of our candidates and causes.” urges the memo, which was written following the furor of allegations against Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

“America is sick of them,” Bennett adds. “Their idiotic attacks just remind voters why they hate the Washington establishment. Donald Trump 1, Washington establishment/media 0.” the memo concludes.

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Trump rejected the notion that he is “blowing” his campaign.

“If you had purposely set out to turn off voters, especially women voters, over the last two weeks, I”m not sure you could have done a better job,” host Chris Wallace said.

“I just got great polls from NBC nationwide,” Trump replied. “I think that we’re doing very well. Don’t forget you have been thinking about that or asking me that question numerous times … ‘He just blew his campaign,’ only to end up having higher poll numbers.”

In a further appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Trump also dismissed the idea that last week was one of the worst of his campaign.

“I don’t know that it’s been the worst week of my campaign,” Trump said. “I think I’ve had many bad weeks and I’ve had many good weeks. I don’t see this as the worst week in my campaign.”

Video: Some Americans Think a Third of People Are Gay

Saturation media coverage of LGBT issues has misled many

Several San Diegans interviewed by Mark Dice think that a third of Americans are homosexual, another indication that saturation coverage of LGBT issues in the media has greatly misled many people.

Four people who Dice spoke to thought that 30% of Americans were gay, with two thinking the number was even higher at 35%.

The majority of the respondents thought that 20% or more were gay.

Only one older lady at the end of the video correctly estimates that the figure is closer to 2%.

The actual number of Americans who identify as homosexual is around 1.6%, according to a large scale Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report released in 2014. A further 0.7% identify as bisexual.

Other studies have put the figure slightly higher, although it is nowhere near the estimate given by most Americans.

A 2015 poll conducted by Gallup found that Americans generally think around 23% of the population is gay, vastly overestimating the number of people who are actually homosexual.

Sex researcher Alfred Kinsey’s 1948 claim that 10% of males he studied were “more or less exclusively homosexual” is one fraudulent statistic that has misled people as to the true figure.

As Dice points out in the clip, wall to wall coverage of LGBT issues by the leftist media over the past decade is probably a key reason as to why so many Americans get it spectacularly wrong when guessing the answer to the question.

Spinal Cord Injuries

* Do our loved ones & friends KNOW ?
* Note taken from Health Sciences Institute e-Alert - Jenny Thompson - 3/4/16

Dear Reader,

Rob Summers was a strong and fit college athlete who had big dreams of playing Major League Baseball.

But all that ended when he was struck by a car and left a quadriplegic.

For Kent Stephenson, it was a motorcycle accident at 21 that left him paralyzed from the chest down.

Rob and Kent are among hundreds of thousands in the U.S. with paralyzing spinal cord injuries who were told that life as they knew it was over.

They were told there was no hope for a cure.

But now all that may be changing — thanks to a 75-year-old UCLA professor whom everyone called crazy.

Turning “The BIG Idea” into reality

Dr. Reggie Edgerton likes to say that the spinal cord is the “Rodney Dangerfield of the nervous system.”

It doesn’t get any respect — and doctors have long written off any hope that the spinal cord could repair itself.

But Edgerton was convinced they were wrong, and spent most of his career trying to prove it.

And it looks like he just did.

You see, Edgerton believed that the spinal cord — like other parts of the nervous system — could learn to adapt from an injury. He just needed to find the precise way to help it do that.

So he began using a small device (already approved by the FDA for pain management) to send electrical currents to “jump-start” damaged spinal cords.

He started with rats and then humans — and the results have been nothing short of remarkable.

So far, he’s been able to demonstrate the effectiveness of electrical stimulation on nearly a dozen paralysis victims, including Rob and Kent.

The men he’s treated have been able to move their limbs and control their bowels and bladders for the first time in years. They’ve even been able to function sexually again.

And they can now stand, and with help, take some steps.

Edgerton’s work has prompted Dr. Rodgeric Pettigrew, the director of the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering, to declare that “spinal cord injury may no longer mean a lifelong sentence of paralysis.”

Of course, people weren’t always patting Edgerton on the back.

For many years he was ridiculed, even laughed at, said a colleague.

And since funding for his idea was as scarce as hen’s teeth, he was pretty much on his own. He says that at his lowest point he was able to keep going when Easter Seals gave him a meager donation of $2,500.

But now that he has been able to prove his research, he’s been getting some major backing that includes the National Institutes of Health and, perhaps most importantly, the Reeve Foundation (started by the late actor Christopher Reeve who was paralyzed in a horseback riding accident).

Edgerton is now on the advisory panel for the Reeve Foundation, which will be conducting a trial using his electronic stimulation technique on 36 men and women. They’re calling it “The BIG Idea.”

To learn more about The BIG Idea or find out how someone who has been paralyzed by a spinal cord injury can take part in a clinical trial, click on this link.

Hopefully, the concept of being permanently confined to a wheelchair following a spine injury will soon be a thing of the past.

And we’ll all have Dr. Reggie Edgerton, who never lost hope that the spinal cord could be “reawakened,” to thank.

To Your Good Health,

Jenny Thompson

Muslim Religious Leader says Saying Merry Christmas is Worse than Murder

Worse than fornication and drinking alcohol and killing someone

Yes, according to this Muslim, saying Merry Christmas is worse than murder (which, by the way, means Muslims killing other Muslims because killing an infidel like you or me ain’t no big deal).

In fact he says that saying Merry Christmas “is worse than fornication and drinking alcohol and killing someone, because you are approving of the biggest crime ever committed by the children of Adam’s sin.”

Again, Islam gets the idea of the Trinity and of Christ’s birth wrong. Christians are not saying that God was “CREATED” at his birth; we believe that he was simply “incarnated” (which means “made flesh”) at his birth. God exists outside of time – he ‘was’ before anything and will continue for eternity. His birth was not his creation but simply his becoming manifest in human form. This is very different from what this “scholar” believes we are saying. Not that any of this matters…

What matters is that Muslims believe that saying Merry Christmas is WORSE than murder. Think about that for a little while and then you tell me if we’ll ever be able to coexist peacefully.
