Dictionary definition of a REDNECK: a white person who lives in a small town or in the country especially in the southern U.S., who typically has a working-class job, and who is seen by others as being uneducated and having opinions and attitudes that are offensive.
Karl Rove is a frequent guest on Fox News, especially during the campaign year. While they were waiting for the Missouri late results to come in, the discussion was about the tight race between Trump and Cruz. Rove mentioned all the precincts in and around Springfield (territory favoring Cruz) were in, and that St. Louis, which probably favored Trump, was still out; but not before referring to Missouri as “in Redneck Missouri”.

Martin’s CPAC Speech
Jenny Beth Martin, leader of the Tea Party Patriots (TPP) spoke at CPAC on Friday, March 4th, 2016. I listened to her 18 minute speech and was appalled at her lack of Constitutional knowledge, not to mention her support for a liberal Warren court decision, NYT’s v. Sullivan, which allows media and public figures to destroy the reputations of others with impunity.
She claims one of the candidates for president is not Tea Party at all, although Mr. Trump says he loves the Tea Party. Martin states, “If you want to love our country, then you have to love our Constitution, and I have serious questions about his (Trump’s) fidelity to the document the Tea Partiers revere.” (Really Jenny Beth? If they revere it so much, why does TPP want to open another Constitutional Convention and risk the destruction of our founding document?)
Martin states Trump has said, “If he becomes president, he would open up the libel laws to make it easier for him to sue newspapers who wrote unkind things about him.” Not just unkind things, Jenny Beth, but outright libel and slander!
And that’s not what he said at all. He said, “We’re going to open up the libel laws, so when they write falsely, we can sue the media, and we can get the story corrected and collect damages.” I would agree with him. Media lies are propaganda to sway the uninformed public, and all too often, they work.
In her diatribe against Mr. Trump, Martin continues, and says, “The right to speak freely without reprisal is enshrined in our Constitution, and when I hear a candidate say he wants to mess with our rights to free speech, I fear for our Constitution.” Whoa Jenny Beth, you’re using the same tactics Trump is fighting against…you’re lying! Trump has never said he wants to mess with our rights to free speech. What he wants to do is return the nation to civil discourse rather than the odious deceit perpetrated by so much of the MSM, GOP, DNC, and other public figures. Trump believes in honest discourse, but Ms. Martin doesn’t seem to grasp this concept.
Jenny Beth Martin agrees with the very liberal Supreme Court that lying about public figures is a first amendment right. In other words, anyone who is a public figure can have their reputation destroyed at the will of media or other public figures because of this liberal court’s decision. Take for example, Cruz’s campaign manager, Jeff Roe, who has no problem lying about opponents, and in one instance Roe’s lies and attacks even caused a public figure to commit suicide.
Ms. Martin speaks of fearing for our Constitution, but the candidate she supports, Ted Cruz, wishes to open the Constitution via a Convention of States and destroy what the founders gave us. Her former partner, Mark Meckler, is also pushing a Constitutional Convention under the guise of a Convention of States. I have continually asked these people one question, and have never received an answer. “Where does it say in Article V that the states can call, open, or convene a Convention and bypass Congress?” It doesn’t! Obviously,lawyers Cruz and Rubio know this, but to pass the CFR’s North American Union (NAU) may well require another Constitutional Convention. Remember, Heidi Cruz, along with Ted’s friend, Henry Kissinger, were on CFR’s NAU Task Force.
As a matter of fact, while Meckler was still with TPP, he co-sponsored a conference on an Article V convention at Harvard with several pro-Convention leftists, including Obama associate, Lawrence Lessig. Absent were the people and groups against a Convention. [Link], [Link] They were never invited.

New York Times v. Sullivan
Donald Trump knows all about the 1964 decision,NYT v. Sullivan and what it has done to truth in politics and the public forum. In 1962, the NYT’s lied about the police department in Montgomery, Alabama. The police commissioner, Sullivan, sued in Alabama court and won a $500,000 judgment. The Alabama Supreme court upheld the judgment. Then, the NYT’s, knowing there were six liberals and three moderates on the Supreme Court, sued Sullivan. With a 9 to 0 decision, the liberal Earl Warren court stated that media could lie with impunity, and could only be sued if “actual malice” could be proven. Remember this is the same court who ruled in 1962, that religious prayer in schools was unconstitutional.
The Supreme court succeeded in changing the rules involving libel that had previously been the province of state law and state courts, as they’ve done with so many other laws belonging only to the states.
Supreme Court Justice Brennan then set out the rule that reshaped libel law with his majority opinion. A public official could recover in a libel action only if and when a court found that the libelous statement about the official was made with ” ‘actual malice’—that is, with knowledge that it was false or with reckless disregard of whether it was false or not.” As long as the press has an “absence of malice,” public officials are barred from recovering damages for the publication of false statements about them. It’s nearly impossible to prove “actual malice.” This decision also eliminates the ability of a public figure to sue other public figures or politicians for libel, i.e., the lies of Ted Cruz against both Donald Trump and Ben Carson. The Court’s decision eliminates the 9th Commandment in the public arena. “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.”

Let’s take a look at TPP’s roots. Founded in February of 2009, TPP is a 501(c)4 tax exempt entity. As such, they can endorse candidates and still have tax exempt status. In 2011, I wrote a four part article on the Tea Parties, and their infiltration and neutralization by the GOP establishment. There are some wonderful TP’s out there, those who have remained independent and who do independent research. However, these larger TP’s have long since been controlled by the establishment GOP.
TPP was initially organized by pro-amnesty Dick Armey’s FreedomWorks, and funded by the leftist Koch brothers’, Americans for Prosperity. There were originally three founders of TPP. Mark Meckler and Amy Kremler left for various reasons, and Martin retained control. Before Martin became a Tea Party star, she was scrubbing floors and cleaning houses for suburbanites after her husband’s business went bankrupt in 2007. Nothing wrong with physical labor and hard work, but she’s sure had a lifestyle change heading up TPP. In 2011, she was making $6 K a month at TPP. What was disturbing to many people within the TPP, was that she put her husband in charge of TPP’s finances, especially since they had huge IRS debts because of his bankruptcy.
Martin has done quite well for herself, TPP takes in millions of dollars every year. The majority of these donations are spent on “consultants.” Problem with this is, Jenny Beth is the consultant. She sets her fee at $15,000 per month. She also gets a salary, and as of 2012, she was paid more than $272,000. Nice work if you can get it. These two salaries allowed Martin to earn over $450,000 in 2015.
JB Martin is in bed with the globalist GOP establishment and has been from TPP’s inception. Martin has long been affiliated with Ralph Reed, formerlyDirector of the Christian Coalition, and infamous for the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandals, along withGrover Norquist. Martin has appeared on panels at Reed’s “Faith and Freedom Coalition” conferences, and Reed has returned the favor by speaking at TPP gatherings. During 2004, both of them worked on the Bush campaign, as did Ted and Heidi Cruz. All of them are Bush establishment GOP!
Remember Dave Brat who overcame all odds and beat incumbent pro-amnesty, Eric Cantor? Well, according to Laura Ingraham, JB Martin wouldn’t give TP favorite, Brat, the time of day. [Link] Martin wouldn’t even accept Brat’s phone calls. What does that tell you?
While the national TPP group is flush with cash, much of it raised through fundraising pitches that tell donors the money will be directed to grassroots activities. The smaller TP organizations around the country are struggling on shoestring budgets. TPP is not and never has been a grassroots organization. It is strongly affiliated with the GOP establishment and has been from its inception.
Jenny Beth Martin is just another GOP establishment clone, following the lead of the globalists to derail Donald Trump. They are desperately afraid of him, and have pulled out all the stops to eliminate him from the nomination, despite what the American people really want! Trump has Revived Hope in Americans
Donald Trump has reawakened grassroots Americans by filling the void we have had for so very long. Even the Republican party has grown because of his candidacy. It is time we take back our great Republic from the factions our founders warned us about. Our two political parties have become one, and that should now be quite obvious. Those which we honor with our votes, have been spitting in our faces for decades to maintain their wealth and power. I love my country, but I fear the government and the complicit media in America’s destruction.
Here’s the hard truth - Trump is hated by the neo-con right who is in bed with the left, the socialist left, and the complicit media, because of one thing. He is not a part of the globalist cabal, and this cabal of both right and left are scared to death of him. They will do anything to stop him from derailing their New World Order globalist plans. So now they’ve hired Willard Romney.
The Truth of Why Willard Mitt Romney Attacked Trump
Yes, Romney’s first name is Willard, and it always makes me think of the old movie, “Willard the Rat,” and at this point, he fits the description. Romney plans, try to derail Trump for his globalist friends and possibly create a brokered convention. He has been hired to help destroy Trump. Why? Because the plan is to have another globalist in our White House to continue the New World Order Agenda. Since Jeb Bush is out, their last hope is no other than Hillary Clinton. Romney is the hired thug to unseat Trump.
So let’s talk about Willard Romney. In 2012, he begged Donald Trump to support him for President. Here is the video where he lauds Trump and thanks him for his support. Notice, no teleprompters.
Now, he’s taking the opposite view after receiving funds and so much support from Trump in 2012. Here is the video of his diatribe against Mr. Trump. Please notice the teleprompters. It reminded me of Joseph Goebbels’s speeches condemning the Jews. Since he didn’t speak from his heart, the question remains, who wrote Romney’s speech.
Romney should have ended his speech with “Sieg Heil” to his operators.
Romney, as well as McCain, threw their elections to the Marxist Muslim we have in our White House. Remember how McCain wouldn’t say anything negative about Obama at a town hall and his audience were astonished and disappointed? We all knew he threw the election.
Governor Romney disappeared the last four weeks of his campaign and let Obama have the stage. He seemed to come out strong in the first debate, and then he faltered to the point where you knew it was a giveaway. This is the reason Trump calls Romney a “choke artist.”

We should remember a few things about Romney. When his father, CFR member, George, another left leaning moderate, ran in the primaries in 1963, he lost to Barry Goldwater. His rhetoric against Goldwater was that he would get us in a nuclear war. So, rather than vote for his fellow republican, he and his entire family voted for LBJ. Tells you where the allegiance lies in the Romney family. Thanks in part to George Romney, we ended up with LBJ’s War on Poverty and trillions more in debt. The point even then was to keep a globalist in the White House. Donald Trump isn’t Goldwater, and the opposition to him now is based on different issues, but the points of comparison are the Republican party elitist globalists are terrified of losing power and a Romney is again leading the assault.
And guess what? Romney is being sued in federal court for criminal racketeering. Steven “Laser” Haas is the owner and sole shareholder of Collateral Logistics Inc. (CLI) the firm which was retained to oversee the liquidation of assets in the bankruptcy of eToys in 2001. Along with Romney, Haas has named Goldman Sachs, Bain Capital, Michael Glazer, Barry Gold, and Paul Traub in the suit. Haas has claimed that he has evidence that the parties involved have committed perjury on 35 separate occasions — even alleging that there have been murders carried out in attempts to cover up their wrong doing.
Obviously, if Romney were on the stage with these candidates, you can bet this would not be brought up, but a small civil suit over Trump University is a major discussion during the debate. How absolutely asinine.
Romney is doing the bidding of the puppeteers who control the agenda for the “New World Order” that former President, George H.W. Bush, spoke so much about. They desperately want the North American Union (NAU). Yes, the same one that Cruz’s wife Heidi helped to write at the Council on Foreign Relations. The CFR was founded by Col. Mandel House, Woodrow Wilson’s counter ego. It is supported by the Carnegie and Rockefeller Foundations and is the core of moving the USA into a globalist NWO nation. [Link]
The NAU eliminates the borders between Canada and Mexico, and makes us one big North American Union with one currency, and obliterated sovereignty, much like the European Union which is now failing.
The GOP “Conservatives” Hate Trump
Certainly by now, we know all the neo-conservative right-wingers who have come out against Trump, many of them have said they’d vote for Hillary if Trump was the Republican nominee. This tells us how desperate the elitists are to keep the NWO globalists in power. One would hope the American electorate would clearly see which side these people are on…and it’s certainly not Constitutional freedoms for the American people. Bilderberger, William “Bill” Kristol has openly stated he’d vote for Hillary over Trump. So Kristol and his phony Republican ilk prefer to have a corrupt, failed Secretary of State (think Benghazi murders and Libya at the top of the list), than an honest businessman who wants to “Make America Great Again.” What does that tell you?
Like the rest of them who signed on to the National Review’s hate Trump campaign, and those who have given to huge pacs to stop Trump, they are all globalists, and they want that globalist train to continue. If Trump is elected, it will be derailed.
Glenn Beck Wants to Stab Trump
The hatred for Mr. Trump is so demonic that now crazy Glenn Beck who has endorsed and campaigned for Cruz, said on his nationally syndicated radio show this morning, March 4th, that if he had a knife, and got close enough to Cruz’s leading rival, Donald Trump, “the stabbing just wouldn’t stop.” Now they’re lying about it after a visit from the FBI.
Beck made the death threat in the context of talking about Thursday’s GOP presidential debate where the candidates were asked if they would support the eventual nominee. Here’s the exact quote, “If I was close enough and had a knife, really, I mean I, the stabbing just wouldn’t stop.” Laughter could be heard in the background from Beck’s staff as he talked about murdering Trump. Beck is not the only crazy in America who is filled with hatred for the one candidate who could turn America around.
Rick Wilson Says “Put a Bullet in Donald Trump”
The GOP establishment donor class, Wilson said they “can’t just sit back on the sidelines and say, ‘oh well, don’t worry, this will all work itself out.’ They’re still going to have to go out and put a bullet in Donald Trump. And that’s a fact.”
Pat Brady Says, “Take Trump Out With a Head Shot.”
Then, Pat Brady, head of the Kasich campaign in Illinois, was on the Cochran radio show in Chicago and said this. Then he redoubled his efforts and stated, “You’ve gotta be ready to rip his head off.”
NYT’s Columnist Ross Douthat Says Assassinate Trump
New York Times columnist Ross Douthat tweeted a “joke” that Donald Trump’s presidential campaign could be ended by killing him, “Good news guys I’ve figured out how the Trump campaign ends.”
Douthat’s tweet included a link to a video clip that leaves no doubt he meant assassination for “how the Trump campaign ends.” The video clip is from the 1983 movie The Dead Zone, which features a character played by Christopher Walken attempting to assassinate a political figure played by Martin Sheen. Like Louis Farrakhan who has promoted the murder of whitey by 10,000 of his congregants, nothing is done. But let a threat be mentioned against Obama or Hillary and the FBI is there with a warrant for their arrest.
There is no discussion of the problems facing America in these debates, no questions about foreign or domestic policy or debt. It is an all out attack by the moderators with their inane questions, and the opposing candidates using those questions to attack Mr. Trump. And guess who picked the audience for the last debate? None other than Mitt Romney’s niece!
Megyn Kelly asserted that the Better Business Bureau gave Trump University a D minus rating. It wasn’t true, the rating was an A as Trump claimed.
Rubio and Cruz have jumped on the bandwagon following their orders from the GOP to destroy Trump during the debates with lies, innuendos, and twisted half truths. The moderators were the culprits with starting the attacks on the leading candidate and allowing Cruz and Rubio to continue the attacks.
Ted Cruz stated Trump gave four checks to Hillary’s 2008 presidential campaign. However, CNN did a fact check and found this was untrue. According to the Federal Election Commission and the Center for Responsive Politics, Trump donated one $600 check to Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2007. But Trump also contributed to 2008 GOP nominee Sen. John McCain’s campaign, and gave him more, to boot.
My friend, Jim Sumpter, said this in a recent article, ” It is a travesty for a weasel like Ted Cruz to condescendingly tell Donald Trump to “breathe, breathe, breathe”, as though Mr. Trump can’t handle the pressure the Cuban tag-team of Rubio-Cruz is putting on him. Mr. Trump has undoubtedly been in many more intense situations than either of these wussy-boys of the status quo will ever find themselves in - at least as long as they live in the hyper-insulated-and-disconnected-from-reality world of politics.
We must preserve American culture or accept that our children and grandchildren are going to live with a scant whiff of the freedoms we have known and a future that will be defined by their willingness to acquiesce.”
Conclusion
Do the American people not see what a terrible sham this is, and that the loss of our nation is the ultimate goal of the globalists? Trump loves America, and he loves her people, so much so that he’s willing to endure the hatred from the globalist enemies of freedom, his own GOP, the DNC and the MSM, and to pay for all of it himself.
There is only one man who is not part of their train wreck to hell with the New World Order, and you all know, it is Donald J. Trump. Support him or our country is lost.

From my friend Ruth, “Congratulations to Trump for his Super Tuesday wins, despite the last-minute lying and bashing by the MSM. How convenient that the NYT, on the very day of voting, says they have an “audio” of Trump backstage saying he doesn’t mean any of the things he says, and would never do any of those things. Of course, they refuse to release this non-existent audio. Purposeful damage done.”

The Church’s Failure to Discern
In 2008, I parted from a friend of over 20 years. Why? Because she and her Lutheran pastor husband were voting for Obama. I asked her how, as a Christian, she could possibly support someone who had voted against the BAIPA act in Illinois three times. That’s the Born Alive Infant Protection Act which allows care for infants who have survived abortions. (In my Bible, there is no way you can call yourself a Christian and vote for baby murder.) She wouldn’t answer me. I told her I obviously never knew her. That was the end of our friendship.
Today, it’s the same thing. I’ve written dozens of articles on the GOP candidates for president. I’ve exposed their lies, their votes, their pasts, and their false doctrine religions. One cyber bud told me I was taking flak because I’d hit the nail on the head. The reality of it is that some fellow Christians are so lacking in discernment that they’ll vote for someone who uses the most unscrupulous tactics, and lies to destroy their opponents. They lie not only about their opponents with made up fictional stories, but they lie about their own attributes and pasts. Yet, these same Christians will attack the messenger rather than the message, saying I’m not a Christian for writing these documented articles and exposing the truth.
I’ve asked them why they attack the messenger rather than the message, and why they think lying by a so-called Christian candidate is okay. I don’t get any further answers, just more attacks, both personal and on the candidate I support. It just proves to me, over and over again, that the swill from the DNC, GOP, and MSM is still believed by those who have little insight or good judgment. Government propaganda does work because many Americans are too lazy to read or research on their own.
When the FBI is taught about counterfeit American dollars, they don’t study the counterfeits. They study our real bills. They know them so well that they can spot a fake in a NY second. The same goes for Christians. We have to know God’s Word so well, that we can spot the fakes in a flash. This is where the pulpits have failed. Unfortunately, too few pick up God’s Word and daily read it, and our pulpits have become infiltrated and neutralized.
The Lies and Hatred
Remember the media and other public figures can lie with impunity, because of the 1964 Supreme court decision in New York Times v. Sullivan.
The GOP says, “Donald Trump is not a Conservative.” This is code for saying, “Donald Trump is not a globalist like us.” Obviously the GOP, who is in bed with the left’s agenda, wanted to run Jeb Bush on the ticket. Since Jeb is out of the picture, they’ll destroy their own top candidate to get Hillary in the White House so the New World Order plans will continue. Donald has totally upset their apple cart.
A GOP consulting firm has been hired to research an independent presidential bid in case Trump wins the nomination, and that’s why Willard Romney is waiting in the wings. The independent ballot document, stamped “confidential,” was authored by staff at Data Targeting, a Republican firm based in Gainesville, Florida. The memo notes that “it is possible to mount an independent candidacy but will require immediate action on the part of this core of key funding and strategic players.” [Link]
This is how much the GOPe hates Trump….they’d rather throw the election to Hillary than allow the GOP front runner to win. Remember, they have been planning this NWO for decades and they’re not about to let Donald destroy it.
The Media’s David Duke KKK Lies
Watch this video of David Duke stating the fact that CNN is lying. David Duke himself says he’s never endorsed Donald Trump. The level the GOPe is stooping to is unconscionable.
Senator Ted Cruz has been extremely vocal about Mr. Trump and the so-called false endorsement by former Klansman and Grand Wizard, David Duke. But Senator Cruz’ campaign has its own KKK connection in Family Research Council president, and former Louisiana Representative, Tony Perkins. (CNP member, UN-NGO member).
In 1996, when Representative Tony Perkins was helping the US Senate campaign of Woody Jenkins against Mary Landrieu, Perkins was fined $3,000 for filing false disclosure forms in an attempt to hide $82,500 he had paid for a mailing list from…guess who…David Duke. (Believe me, I don’t trust SPLC, but this is documented all over the web.
Perkins has also caused controversy being pictured addressing a group that has been known for white supremacist rhetoric, the Council of Conservative Citizens, while a Louisiana State Representative. [Link]

Max Lucado and Christian Post
Max Lucado and Christian Post have both come out against “fake Christian” Donald Trump. They sit in judgment of him without knowing anything about him, his faith, or his unbelievably generous donations, and help to so many Americans. Wonder why? Because Christian Post and Lucado have their own stealth reasons for fighting Trump. They are part of the 103 evangelicals (if you can call them that) of the Evangelical Immigration Table (EIT) and are for amnesty with far-left Democratic activist, Jim Wallis, founder of Sojourner Magazine. Breitbart News has reported, that EIT’s efforts have been funded by the George Soros financed National Immigration Forum. Thus the EIT will be fighting Trump’s nomination all the way.
Both Samuel Rodriquez and, one-world-religion loving CFR member, Richard Land, were signatories to the EIT statement supporting the 2013 Gang of Eight illegal alien amnesty bill co-sponsored by Senator Marco Rubio.
Planned Parenthood
Trump has made it clear over and over again, that he wants to defund Planned Parenthood, because they do abortions. When they first began, as Trump points out, they used to educate and do pap smears and HPV cancer screenings, which was a service for low income women. They no longer do this today, and they’ve never done mammograms. This is why Trump wants to defund it. By the way the 12th video is out regarding Planned Parenthood’s abortions of intact late term babies. Trump is pro-life, and the argument is moot.
Trump University
Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida more than once referred to Trump’s real estate academy as a fake university, while Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas relished the implications of a presidential candidate being put on the witness stand. Problem is, it’s another lie. If anyone were to look at our local papers, the University of Tennessee is being sued left and right. Other universities and colleges have the same problems. However, in all these universities, 98 to 99% of the graduates are happy. The same goes for Trump’s graduates.
In 2015, Donald Trump won a key legal battle when a federal district court in California partially decertified a class action lawsuit against Trump and the now-defunct Trump University, which once offered real estate classes. A statement by the Trump legal team said the ruling “validates the fact that Trump University provided a legitimate and valuable real estate education.”
That, coupled “with the fact that 98% of all Trump University students rated the program ‘excellent,’ and was also rated ‘A’ by the Better Business Bureau, will ultimately doom Plaintiffs’ claims.”
Trump’s opponents are grabbing at straws, and following the orders of the GOP establishment to stop Trump at all costs.
Trump’s Tax Audits
Trump has said he will not release his tax returns until an IRS audit is complete.
“For many years, I’ve been audited every year. Twelve years or something like that,” he said during Thursday night’s GOP debate.
Shortly after the debate, the businessman suggested that the IRS was targeting him because of his religion. (Please understand that this man gives to a huge number of charities, as well as giving to people in need, or people who have in some way helped him. Even his son Eric, who works for his father, has given over $20 million to St. Jude’s.) But the head of IRS, John Koskinen disagreed. “That’s something that would never cause you to be audited,” Koskinen said. “We don’t care who you are, who you voted for, what party you belong to, whether you go to church, or don’t go to church.”
What a load of bull Koskinen’s statement is…does anyone remember all the Tea Parties who were targeted and audited by the honest upright IRS?
Any tax professional that has high end clients that routinely report complex tax matters has had multiple examinations. They may or may not have been successive, but it (as far as the taxpayer and his hired professionals are concerned) is considered ongoing.
The absolute worst thing Donald Trump could do is to respond to it. Responding to the provocation is exactly what they want. Dismiss it like you would swat an annoying gnat. Why? Because Willard Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are behind this. Romney is waiting in the wings to jump into the GOPe fray as presidential candidate… Because they’ll do anything to destroy Trump, even running Romney so we’ll end up with the New World Order, corrupt, and murderous globalist, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Only instead of robbing banks and holding people at gunpoint, they’re breaking into computers at doctors’ offices and hospitals and stealing your health records.
In some cases, they’re even holding the records for ransom – which could leave you unable to get the treatment or care you need.
It’s a brewing medical catastrophe the likes of which were unimaginable just a few short years ago.
And it means that you have to take some simple steps to protect yourself now, before it’s too late.
A gold mine for thieves
“Electronic health records are 100 times more valuable than stolen credit cards,” said data expert James Scott.
And unlike charges made on a stolen credit card, hacked health records can go on to have a life of their own for years to come.
They contain highly valuable information such as your Social Security number, your address, your job, plus your complete medical history.
Electronic health records are like a gossip magazine that tells all – from the results of your last checkup to that CT scan of your ankle taken when you fell visiting Uncle Floyd.
For thieves, it’s like hitting the information jackpot.
But for hospitals and doctors’ offices, it’s a little more like being sent back to the Stone Age.
When MedStar Health, a medical provider that operates 10 hospitals in Maryland and Washington, D.C., suffered a major data hack this week, it couldn’t access any patient records.
It was a potentially dangerous emergency that had doctors and nurses scribbling patient information and treatments down on paper.
“We can’t do anything at all,” one MedStar employee told a reporter.
And this is just one of many attacks that are going on all over the country that aren’t getting as much media attention.
For example:
In February the Hollywood (Calif.) Presbyterian Medical Center was blackmailed into paying hackers more than $16,000 to get its stolen data returned.
Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital is hacked constantly, and that includes the theft of 2,000 X-rays! The hospital CEO said that tests such as X-rays are frequently sold to Chinese nationals who wouldn’t be able to pass a health exam necessary for a travel visa.
Even small hospitals and individual medical offices are under attack. The tiny Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville, California was hit by hackers just prior to the big MedStar incident.
And, believe it or not, things are only going to get worse.
Remember that brilliant “stimulus” scheme Obama signed into law back in 2009 called The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)? Well, it just about guaranteed that everyone’s health information would become a target.
A key part of ARRA was to create extremely detailed, computerized accounts of all your health information. That means anything and everything about you, including your medical history, lab reports, and all current and past medications.
And not just from one doctor, either, but every single doctor or hospital you’ve ever been to. And if health care providers don’t comply, they can face huge fines.
That’s why crooks are so interested in this data. It’s a literal gold mine. And that’s why you need to take these three important steps to stay as safe as possible:
Step #1: Make use of those free services to check your credit report several times a year to be sure your Social Security number hasn’t been hacked.
Step #2: Keep your own copies of all your medical records. That way, you won’t have to rely on your doctor or a hospital paying a ransom to get them back.
Step #3:Go to this website maintained by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to see if your health provider’s data has been breached: By clicking on “advanced options” you can narrow the search to your state.
