Bible lawsuit story followup

By Rev. Austin Miles

The lawsuit filed against the Bible, just detailed in a national story, did happen. However, every newswriter including this one was misled as to WHEN that event took place.

Every story I do is backed by research and fact finding. Sometimes a major story breaks on several respected news sites that have proven to be reliable news sources and are picked up by others. The initial details used in my story of gays filing a lawsuit to make the Bible illegal, were taken from those sites. If ever the facts of a published story are questioned, we are right on it. If ever an error is detected, it is corrected immediately. My readers know this.

Indeed, I will no longer do a personal profile piece about anyone since I have been totally misled on two occasions, which is enough. And those stories were immediately corrected. One was about a young supposed military woman who conned me. When I first met her she seemed to be too good to be true. As it turns out, she WAS too good to be true.

The current story in question was headlined: “We told you! First Lawsuit Filed to Make Bible Illegal!” A close friend who keeps track of breaking news, emailed me about that story as soon as it broke this past Friday. That story was double-checked. The source of that story, which was dated, July 10 2015, came from Christian Post, with the headline: “Gay Man Files $70M Suit Against Bible Publishers Over’ Homosexual’ Verses.” It was also published by Tea Party News Network.

An additional check showed that it was first published by; http://www.donotlink.com/framed?740510 The story was released as a right-now, July 10, 2026 story, and referred to this coming Monday with no date. After checking, I published the story.

We knew that the gays would never be satisfied after getting that Supreme Court victory as Obama salivated. And we had learned conclusively through sources inside that community that they next would have the Bible outlawed as a hate book. This is FACT.

Two nutty emails came in Sunday morning, attacking me personally and the contents of the story. The first was unsigned, which is usual for this kind of correspondence. The sender box showed ‘Jon.’

The complainant opened his or her missile by proclaiming that my story was not factual, then went on to say: “Will you please edit your article so it as (sic) factual? If you don’t change the article, you would be intentionally lying, which would be breaking one of the 10 Commandments.

“Do you have the moral courage to admit that your article was not factual? Unfortunately, I do not believe you will change the article , but I can only hope you do have the moral and ethical courage to do so.”

Wow! This keyboard pounder appears to know me, my thinking and conduct with remarkable clairvoyant skills since this individual does not know me, has never met me, has never been in my home, has never talked to me on the phone nor have we ever had a cup of coffee together. Yet his person knows my very thoughts and character, which is remarkable.

This disturbed individual tries to convince the world, by using Christian sounding jargon, that he or she is a Christian. If this arrogant judging mischaracterization of someone they do not know is a “Christian” then God help us all. No wonder people are being turned off by ‘Christians.’ Message to The World, God is never the problem. The problem comes from those who claim to be representatives of God using the cloak of Christianity to exhibit credibility, so as to hide their true selves.

I would earnestly advise the writer to be very cautious in suggesting that I am a liar. That shows totally disrespect, not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Plus, to say this against a minister is libel. However, bear in mind that I will never show you disrespect by intentionally lying to you.

The writer enclosed a link to Snopes.com, a website that purports to lay bare something that is untrue. Snopes is the most untrue element of it all. They purposely will grab a story that is prominent and attack it in order bring attention to themselves to increase their website traffic.

This is fact. When I broke the story about Islam becoming a required study for 7th graders in Public School, Snopes hopped right on it and got tons of attention. I had gone to that particular school, saw the materials and handouts and interviewed a teacher at that school who had no idea that her son was in that class studying ‘how to become a Muslim’ until she found his course materials and handouts. She then contacted me.

Snopes, with misrepresentations, tried to kill my story and almost did while greatly assisting the Muslims who want to recruit us and or kill us but not wanting America to know about it. However I contacted a national columnist who specialized in Islamic events providing him material for the class.

He then did a major story about it that was published nationally after it broke in The New York Post. It turned out that this Islamic Indoctrination was not only in the one school in California, but in all public schools in America. And it was kept so quiet that nobody knew.

The other email was sent to me by a Steven Ray.

His opening line said it all: “Unfortunately, this story is propaganda being used to create outrage against the LGBT community by conservatives.” By the language, we all can tell that this was an official LGBT communication.

In typical fashion, Mr. Ray fiercely suggested that this story was written with malice toward Gays. It appears that the writer is the one who has the malice and hatred, not me. On the contrary: I have done funerals for gays, transgenders and cross-dressers. Those services are performed with great dignity with the celebration of a life that was valuable to God, no matter where their journey took them, which makes it automatically valuable to me.

I train chaplains and have taken them with me to these funerals, to show them that while we do not understand that life, our job is to bring God’s love into every situation we find ourselves in. And when these funerals are taking place, the deceased is not preached into heaven or hell.

It is a very loving service. So much so that I am ASKED to do them. For the writer to even suggest otherwise damages his own credibility.

If my current story was old news, it was unknown to me or the other news sources that picked it up. Meanwhile, the originator of this story; http://www.donotlink.com/framed?740510 that we all picked up on has made a brief correction at the bottom of their current piece. Too late.

That news website had a profound obligation to send out an immediate news release to every media outlet to correct this misinformation they gave us. They did not. They just put in a brief line on their original story which you can see at the above link.

Because the gays have such hatred for everyone else, especially Christian ministers, they automatically assume everyone else is the same as they are. We are not.

Pope Francis leads the apostasy — says the Bible and the Koran are the same?

6 REPOSTED FROM RENEWAMERICA.COM

By Michael Bresciani

The one world religion nonsense of the liberals across the globe just got a boost from Pope Francis. At the same time the truth and the plenary verbal inspiration of the scriptures has taken a serious hit, at least among the 1.2 billion Roman Catholics of the world.

Most of mainstream biblically based Christianity is still reeling from the Pope’s recent entrance into the uber-green panicky nonsense about global warming posing a threat to the very future existence of the human race.

The Olive Branch Report featured the commentary of Marianne Bernard in an article entitled “Pope Francis To Followers: “Koran And Holy Bible Are The Same.” Bernard posed the question, “And the heresy continues. This was an article from earlier this year, but it clearly shows the false teaching that is now coming from the Vatican regarding Islam and Christianity. Can this be the start of the one-world religion?”

The earlier article Ms. Bernard is referring to appeared in the National Report and has garnered almost a hundred replies most which question the Pope’s wisdom.

Scriptures say basic message of the Koran is false and is an “other gospel”

We have a Pope who seems totally ignorant of the one quarter of the bible that lays out the future of man in clear and precise prophecies which are pre-written history, not suspect science, speculation or religious tripe.

A lot of time is spent on labeling non-Catholics as independents, but it takes little wisdom to recognize the semantic twisting of such an effort. It would be both accurate and far more honest to say that both Catholics and bible believing Christians are completely – ‘dependent.’ Catholics depend of the Pope for authority and biblically based Christians depend on the scriptures alone.

This simple truth is the reason why we cannot follow the Pope down the apostasy trail to the kind of error that will cost the lives of many people when the axe of the world’s last dictator (antichrist) begins to fall.

Here are some of the scriptures that we depend on rather than the Pope’s encyclicals or Pontifical statements. These passages are strict warnings against the attempt to lump together the writings of ancient or modern pagan and idolatrous religions of the world – much more, they are a strict warning not to follow the falsehoods the Pope is putting forth.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (Jn 14: 6)

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” (Ga 1: 8)

“Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Ac 4: 10-12)

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (Jn 3: 36)

Does the Pope serve a schizophrenic God?

Islam and Christianity are so completely incompatible that the only way the Pope could get any traction on his new assertions is to have God pronounced as a feather brained, double minded delusionary, suffering from dementia praecox.

When a Christian shares the gospel message with an unbeliever they are invited to come to repentance of sin and new life, but they are never forced or coerced against their will. They alone must open the door. To wit:

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Rev 3: 20)

When Muslims share, they are given leave to kill those who will not accept or believe in their religion. To wit:

“Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.” (Qur’an 9: 5)

A comparison of these two verses alone leave us in amazement and raise yet another question – has the Pope ever read the Scriptures or the Koran – at all?

God’s house is not divided – so exactly who has dementia praecox?

If, as the Pope says, Allah and Christ are the same entity, then why did Jesus say – “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth?” (Lk 11: 17)

Let’s review.

The Pope’s “same entity” is calling for the death of unbelievers in one part of the world, which as we see from day to day, includes Christians, but across the pond he is calling for loving our enemies and showing them kindness and forgiveness.

The best wisdom of God and man arrives at the same place, either God is schizophrenic or the Pope has gone astray. This answers, yet once again, the question of why bible believing Christians will only adhere to the words of scriptures. We do not hate or disdain the Pope, but in the end, it will not be his words that will scrutinize our lives. To wit:

“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” (Jn 12: 46-48)

Our God is not flighty, and never opposes himself. As for the Pope, it can be seen that this is not the case. Advising his 1.2 billion followers to put the Koran on the same level as the bible may be the most incongruous and completely ridiculous thing any Pope has said in all of history. Christians and unbelievers alike should be warned that this contradiction must never be taken seriously.

“…what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (2 Co 6: 14-16)

Ray Comfort’s ‘Audacity’ Film has Critics Outraged the Topic of Homosexuality is Tackled [VIDEO]

Evangelist Ray Comfort has never shied away from addressing controversial subjects like abortion and evolution; his upcoming film ‘Audacity’ takes on the subject of homosexuality.

Comfort’s films are usually documentaries, but ‘Audacity’ is a scripted film. The passionate minister admits that he initially did not want to address homosexuality.

“I didn’t want to do this movie. When different people kept asking for one that addressed homosexuality, I said an adamant ‘No!’ and I was deadly serious,” he told TheBlaze, “It just wasn’t going to happen. One of the major reasons for this was that to speak even slightly against homosexuality nowadays is tantamount to being a hate-filled racist.”

Comfort is currently raising money in support of the project, raising $120,000 of $175,000 goal. To help support the film and its powerful message click here.

According to livingwaters.com ‘Audacity’ is about a Christian (Peter) struggling to find his voice as a young believer in a culture that rejects the biblical view of homosexuality. The movie follows him as he learns to lovingly speak the truth to his friends, in spite of their opposing views.

“He’s forced into a clash between his most cherished convictions and a most volatile issue,” Comfort told TheBlaze.

“‘Audacity’ doesn’t stereotype or vilify gays in the slightest,” Comfort assured, “This movie isn’t motivated by an ounce of hatred. It’s just the opposite. We love gay people, and that’s what we believe will be the conclusion of most who see it.”

He went on to explain why he was moved into making ‘Audacity’. “There is a reality clip woven into the storyline of the movie where I interview two lesbians after I saw them kissing in Huntington Beach, California,” Comfort said, “At the conclusion of the interview they enthusiastically said on-camera that they really appreciated how I had spoken with them.”

Comforts past project have helped encourage many lives as well as save lives according to his video message promoting his new venture.

“When we produced [pro-life film] ‘180′ they said we hated women. When ‘Evolution Vs. God’ came out, we hated science. Neither accusations were true,” he went on to say to TheBlaze, “We are now in post-production of a movie that shows how much we love gay people, and they are already saying that I hate gays.”

He continued, “These critics hate any thought of God, and they think that if they can vilify me they can vilify the message - when they just confirm it with their hatred.”

Is It Worth It?

I served 3 tours in Germany, a total just barely short of 9 years. During those years, duty and time permitting my wife, son and I were able to see some of Europe. In 1988 or thereabouts, we booked a tour to Holland’s Tulip festival. A tour of Amsterdam preceded the Tulip Festival. Aside from Anne Franke’s house and a boat ride through the canals, the remainder of the Amsterdam tour was quite enlightening as to what post-Christian means. I see that clearer now than I did during a trip nearly thirty years past.

I remember being in Amsterdam’s Dam Square beside their National War Memorial. The stench was quite bad. It smelled like a giant urinal. Graffiti covered buildings were visible in every direction. Not the reverence I would expect a country to pay a war memorial. It was not the place to take your family.

No Amsterdam tour is complete without a walking tour of the Red Light district. Picture windows line the streets and in those red lit windows sit prostitutes advertising their wares leaving little to the imagination. Also along those streets are the drug bars. Legal of course. Then there are the bars with explicit signage advertising their live shows and before a youngster can ask his dad what that means, a sleazy looking street hawker clears up all doubt. Probably a great location for a rainbow colored Whitehouse. The Red Light district was packed with tourists. There was no line at Anne Franke’s house.

I cannot imagine that Biblical Sodom was much different from this place. With our country’s accelerated drive toward moral relativism, legalization of drugs, and a push toward a Post-Christian America one can but wonder how long before Hometown America begins to mimic Amsterdam.

I was reading some C. S. Lewis thoughts on what he termed Post-Christian Europe and Post-Christian man. To summarize it into my own words, he surmised rather clearly that Christian man had much more in common with the Pre-Christian pagan than he does with the Post-Christian man. At least the pagan and the Christian alike adhered to natural law.

Riding the tour bus out of Amsterdam, if I saw a structure that was not covered with graffiti I do not remember it. It is one of the images that remain in my mind. Leaving the city and entering a rather pristine countryside covered with tulip fields drew a stark contrast. It was like two separate worlds, connected by language but little else.

Here in America, we are even losing the language connection and like every other assault on anything distinctly American that too is purposeful.

I received an email following last week’s post and someone ask me what are we supposed to do about all this change. “How do we fight it?” The undertone of sheer frustration was obvious in the email.

There is only one thing each person can do. It starts by knowing what you believe. Knowing the source of the truth that is the foundation of what you believe. And having the fortitude and willingness to stand firm regardless of the consequences.

Understand and hold firm that man did not give us freedom; therefore man cannot alter our path or take away our freedom. Freedom cannot be taken it can only be forfeited.

In the service, each person knew of the obligation to refuse to carry out an illegal order. In our 50 states, we must have leaders who know when a Supreme Court decision has no basis in law or in the Constitution and who have the fortitude to challenge it – disobey it. We have too few willing to stand up.

At some point, each of us will have to decide if it is worth it. Worth it to go into the streets in mass and stand up for what is right and to keep our country free. Red, White and Blue are the only colors that should ever light “our” Whitehouse.

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick on Passage of “Religious Freedom” Senate Bill

REPOSTED FROM https://www.ltgov.state.tx.us/2015/05/11/lt-governor-dan-patrick-on-passage-of-religious-freedom-senate-bill/

AUSTIN – Today, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick congratulated Senator Craig Estes and the Senate members for the passage of Senate Bill 2065 (SB 2065).

SB 2065 by Sen. Estes protects houses of worship, religious organizations and their employees and clergy or ministers, from being required to participate in a marriage or celebration of a marriage if it would violate a sincerely held religious belief. It also protects such clergy and organizations from civil or criminal cause of action. The bill further protects their First Amendment Right.

“I am very proud that Senator Craig Estes and Senate members passed SB 2065 today,” said Patrick. “SB 2065 protects our churches and pastors from participating in any part of a marriage that is against their beliefs.”

“I appreciate Lt. Governor Patrick for making this issue a priority. SB 2065 is moving quickly through the legislative process,” Senator Estes said. “It is my firm belief that this legislation is needed to protect religious freedom in this matter. I look forward to working throughout the remaining weeks of session to ensure that it is signed into law by Governor Abbott.”

“Religious leaders should never be compelled to provide any kind of service that separates them from the fundamental principles of their faith,” concluded Patrick. “This bill is about protecting religious freedom across the state.”

Black Pastors Push for Civil Disobedience Against Gay Marriage Ruling

By for SONS OF LIBERTY

The Reverend Bill Owens, president of the Coalition of African-American Pastors (CAAP) spoke to Newsmax over the weekend about the recent Supreme Court ruling on sodomy-based “marriage,” and what he had to say might surprise some folks.

The Reverend Owens is calling on American Christians to oppose the court’s decision using civil disobedience, saying that sometimes “you do something to get arrested to call attention to the injustice.”

“I was in the civil rights movement, so I know how to do it. When we sat at the counters at restaurants, we knew we were going to be arrested. You do things to get arrested, to call attention to it. So many people were silent. The church people were absolutely silent on this issue. A few leaders spoke out, but the masses of the church people were silent.”

The Reverend Owens added that he believed many people were unwilling to speak out against the President because “The whites didn’t want to come out against Obama since he endorsed it so strongly and they didn’t want to be called bigots — and the blacks didn’t want to say they were betraying a black man. I came out very powerfully against Mr. Obama when he stood for same-sex marriage.”

“I absolutely would not do a gay marriage. Absolutely. I think of our children. What it’s going to do to our children. What kind of world are they going to grow up in? I’ve said for two years that we’re going to have to have civil disobedience. They were very cunning in the way they did it,” Reverend Owens said speaking about LGBT activists.

“Since I was in the civil rights movement, I know that if the people come together in force, things will happen. How they will happen, I don’t know. The homosexual community has not shown all of what it’s going to do,” the Reverend said. He then mentioned a 2013 California law that forces public schools to allow boys and girls to use whatever restroom they choose. “They have a game plan that, now that the Supreme Court has ruled, will take this country down a very immoral path,” Owens said.

Reverend Owens continued by arguing again that civil disobedience is the only way to respond to the court’s decision to force sodomy-based “marriage” on us.

“It’s going to be much harder, because we’re going to have to go from state to state. It’s going to be hard to do, but it can be done. Remember, blacks worked for 300 years for civil rights in the courts. Three-hundred long years. It’s not something that we’re going to win overnight. There is no quick fix, but I think now the church will rise up. All the Christian churches in the United States that believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, they need to rise up. We’re asking people to rise up and be ready to go to jail. Why go to jail? To let it be known that we will not bow down, we will not give up, whatever the costs. It’s the new civil rights movement, because they are taking away our rights. They are taking away the Christian’s rights. This is just a start. We have nothing against homosexuals, but when you start talking about marriage, and then indoctrinating children, where are we going? Where is this society headed?”

Tough talk from Reverend Owens, but he may very well be right. Civil disobedience may be the only way that we can show the sincerity and strength of our resolve. It remains important to remember that we are protesting being relegated to second class citizenship and being forced to participate in activities that we find morally repugnant.

One reason that I have argued for the privatization of marriage (or for the government to get out of the business of marriage) is because I didn’t think that we could stop sodomite couples from holding commitment ceremonies (or weddings). By getting the state involved, we ourselves were risking being forced into being involved in these activities, which is what’s happening now. If the state were uninvolved, we could simply refuse to participate on religious grounds, and that would (probably) be the end of the story. But all of that is moot now as the Supreme Court has seen fit to act as royal master forcing us to bow and scrape before them on the sodomy-based “marriage” issue.

To that end we may indeed be forced to run afoul of the law in the not so distant future. Are we ready to do that?

The Formal End to Judeo-Christian America

Reposted from DENNISPRAGER.COM

b1216751-e6a3-4e85-86fc-f6607532b430

The U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on the redefinition of marriage seals the end of America as the Founders envisioned it.

From well before 1776 until the second half of the 20th century, the moral values of the United States were rooted in the Bible and its God.

Unlike Europe, which defined itself as exclusively Christian, America became the first Judeo-Christian society. The American Founders were Christians — either theologically or culturally — but they were rooted in the Hebrew Scriptures. Even Americans who could not affirm traditional Christian or Jewish theology affirmed the centrality of God to ethics. Americans, from the Founders on, understood that without God, there is no moral truth, only moral opinion — and assumed that those truths were to be gleaned from the Bible more than anywhere else.

Beginning with the Supreme Court’s ban on nondenominational school prayer in 1962, the same-sex marriage decision has essentially completed the state’s secularization of American society. This is one thing about which both right and left, religious and secular, can agree. One side may rejoice over the fact, and the other may weep, but it is a fact.

And what has replaced Judaism, Christianity, Judeo-Christian values and the Bible?

The answer is: feelings. More and more Americans rely on feelings to make moral decisions. The heart has taken the place of the Bible.

Years ago, I recorded an interview with a Swedish graduate student. I began by asking her whether she believed in God. Of course not. Did she believe in religion? Of course not.

“Where, then, do you get your notion of right and wrong?” I asked.

“From my heart,” she responded.

That is why five members of the Supreme Court have redefined marriage. They consulted their hearts.

That is understandable. Any religious conservative who does not acknowledge homosexuals’ historic persecution or does not understand gays who desire to marry lacks compassion.

But let’s be honest. This lack of compassion is more than matched by the meanness expressed by the advocates of same-sex marriage. They have rendered those who believe that marriage should remain a man-woman institution the most vilified group in America today.

It is the heart — not the mind, not millennia of human experience, nor any secular or religious body of wisdom — that has determined that marriage should no longer be defined as the union of a man and a woman.

It is the heart, not the mind, that has concluded that gender has no significance. That is the essence of the Brave New World being ushered in. For the first time in recorded history, whole societies are announcing that gender has no significance. Same-sex marriage is, above all else, the statement that male and female mean nothing, are completely interchangeable, and, yes, don’t even objectively exist, because you are only the gender you feel you are. That explains the “T” in “LGBT.” The case for same-sex marriage is dependent on the denial of sexual differences.

It is the heart, not the mind, that has concluded that all a child needs is love, not a father and mother.

And therein lies one of the reasons that the notion of obedience to religion is so loathed by the cultural left. Biblical Judaism and Christianity repeatedly dismiss the heart as a moral guide.

Moreover, the war to replace God, Judeo-Christian values and the Bible as moral guides is far from over. What will this lead to?

Here are three likely scenarios:

1. Becoming more and more like Western Europe, which has more or less created the first godless and religion-less societies in history. Among the consequences are less marriage and the birth of far fewer children.

2. More and more ostracizing — eventually outlawing — of religious Jews and Christians, clergy, and institutions that refuse to perform same-sex weddings.

3. An America increasingly guided by people’s hearts.

If you trust the human heart, you should feel confident about the future. If you don’t, you should be scared. Judeo-Christian values have made America, despite its flaws, uniquely free and prosperous and the greatest force for good in the world. Without those values, all of that will change.

Nathan Collier: Montana man inspired by same-sex marriage ruling requests right to wed two wives.

The 46-year-old polygamist said he decided to act in the wake of recent Supreme Court decision

The 46-year-old polygamist said he decided to act in the wake of recent Supreme Court decision

Nathan Collier said he was inspired by the recent Supreme Courtdecision that made marriage equal. He said he was particularly struck by the words of dissenting Chief Justice John Roberts who claimed giving gay couples the right to marry, might inspire polygamy.

And so this week, Mr Collier and his two wives, Victoria and Christine, entered a courthouse in Billings, Montana, and sought an application to legalise the trio’s polygamous union.

“Right now we’re waiting for an answer,” Mr Collier told The Independent. “I have two wives because I love two women and I want my second wife to have the same legal rights and protection as my first.”

He added: “Most people are not us. I am not trying to define what marriage means for anybody else - I am trying to define what marriage means for us.”

The practice of bigamy - holding multiple marriage licences - is outlawed in all 50 of the US states, Montana among them. But Mr Collier said he planned to sue if his application was denied.

Mr Collier said he was former Mormon who had been excommunicated for polygamy and now owned a refrigeration business in Billings.

He married his first wife, Victoria, 40, in 2000. The 46-year-old, who appeared in the reality TV show Sister Wives, held a religious ceremony to marry second wife, Christine, in 2007 but did not sign a marriage license to avoid bigamy charges.

His first wife, Victoria, said that she and her husband’s second wife got along “like sisters”.

“We’re like any family. There are good days and there are bad days,” she said. “But there are more good days.”

Asked how she felt when her husband took a second wife, she said: “How can you know who you are going to fall in love with? This is our destiny.”

Yellowstone County clerk officials initially denied Mr Collier’s application, then said they would consult with the county legal officer before giving him a final answer.

Yellowstone County chief civil litigator Kevin Gillen, told the Associated Press that he was reviewing Montana’s bigamy laws and expected to send a formal response to Mr Collier by next week.

Mr Gillen said: “I think he deserves an answer.”

Episcopal Church Changes Marriage Law to Include Same-Sex Marriage

Carrie Dedrick | Editor, ChristianHeadlines.com | Tuesday, June 30, 2026
Episcopal Church Changes Marriage Law to Include Same-Sex Marriage

Episcopal Church Changes Marriage Law to Include Same-Sex Marriage

The Episcopal Church of the US has voted to change its definition of marriage to include same-sex marriage. The decision comes after the Supreme Court’s ruling last week that legalized gay marriage across the country.

Christian Today reports church bishops met at the church’s General Convention in Salt Lake City where they voted to change the language used in marriage ceremonies to include homosexual couples.
The Episcopal Church will now define “Holy Matrimony” as a “physical and spiritual union between the couple.” Previously, the definition was a “physical and spiritual union of a man and a woman.”
The change was made to accommodate “the pastoral need for priests to officiate at a civil marriage of a same-sex couple,” according to a report for the convention.
However, the Episcopal Church’s Book of Common Prayer will keep the original language for straight couples who wish to use the traditional wording.
Additionally, couples will no longer be required to sign a statement saying that they “solemnly declare that we hold marriage to be a lifelong union of husband and wife as it is set forth in the Book of Common Prayer.”
Episcopal ministers will not be required to officiate same-sex marriages.

One Alabama probate judge declares his county is no longer in the ‘marriage business’

TROY, Ala. — The US Supreme Court’s decision last Thursday to strike down state bans on same-sex marriage has left Alabama probate judges with few legal options, and some big decisions to make.

With an order released by the Alabama Supreme Court Monday morning, probate judges now have a 25-day delay before they must legally start issuing marriage licenses to gay and straight couples.

Probate Judge Wes Allen of Pike County has other plans. Instead of granting or denying same-sex couples marriage licenses, he has taken his county out of the marriage business altogether. Since February of this year, Pike County has not issued marriage licenses to any couples: straight or gay.

“My office discontinued issuing marriage licenses in February, and I have no plans to put Pike County back into the marriage business,” Probate Judge Allen said in a statement Friday. “The policy of my office regarding marriage is no different today than it was yesterday.”

Since his statement Friday, Judge Allen has been featured in the New York Times, and even referenced by 2016 presidential hopeful Rand Paul in the candidate’s op-ed on the decision published by TIME Magazine.

In an interview with Yellowhammer News Monday afternoon, Judge Allen affirmed his stance and is “confident in his legal position.”

“The decision allows me to operate under the law while adhering to my deeply held Christian values,” Allen said. “I’m not in violation of the Supreme Court.”

Allen specifically highlighted Alabama Code Section 30-1-9, which states “Marriage licenses may be issued by the judges of probate of the several counties.” According to Allen, the legal meaning of the word ‘may’, unlike the more commanding ‘shall’, gives probate judges the option to issue licenses or not. “The Supreme Court ruling does not invalidate the Alabama Code,” he said.

Under Alabama law, a couple can receive a marriage license in any county and it does not have to be the one that they live in. Probate Judge Allen’s decision means that Pike County’s roughly 33,000 residents will have to obtain marriage licenses from probate offices elsewhere in the state, but many do not seem too upset about it.

On the contrary, several Pike County constituents have responded positively towards Allen’s move. “I’ve talked to several couples and most are supportive of my decision,” he said.

The evidence of support is also clearly depicted on Allen’s Facebook page. One resident thanked the probate judge for “holding strong with your Christian faith and being a true leader,” while another wrote “Thank you for standing by the majority of the community, and what is truly morally right!”
