GMO’s - No More in Josephine County, Oregon

My comments: Possibly one of the only things in Oregon that has been done right, even if it’s only in one small county. The state is basically led by communists, so this is a plus for Josephine County.

GMO = Foreign Substance

POSTED BY JEFF HAYES ON BOUGHTMOVIE.COM

Josh Corn:

Genetically modified foods are a tricky thing. One of my biggest fears and concerns is not enough people know about it.

In most other industrialized countries it’s a big issue, it’s on everyone’s minds. In this country, some of the most educated, affluent people don’t even know what it means.

Our senses are designed to be macro; if it looks like corn, if it tastes like
corn, if it smells like corn, is it corn?

Our eyes see it as corn, our intestines don’t work that way, they’re working on a molecular level and when that genetically modified organism hits your digestive system, it knows.

Your eyes don’t know, your mouth doesn’t know but it knows that it’s different and it’s trying to understand what it is. It’s a foreign body.

It’s this unknown element being injected into your body, an altered DNA structure that your body doesn’t recognize, layered with pesticide after pesticide.

Why is it that the US government protects genetically modified foods when every other industrialized country is afraid of it, why is that?

Is it because the government’s not really ours anymore? Is it because companies that can make billions and billions and billions of dollars are really calling the shots?

Look at what we have to show for it, our health ranks amongst the lowest. Not even just industrialized countries. There’s some countries that some people have barely heard of that we rank below.

When the government is controlled by these big industries and the big industries have profound affects on human life, when fundamental aspects of humanity are not in your control anymore, it becomes a really scary and bleak future.

There’s a couple things that we’re gonna look back and say “what were we thinking?”

I think with genetically modified foods people are going to look at it as a really dark time, when scientists were altering the food we ate that evolved over millions of years and somehow thought they were better.

That’s a concern of mine.

I’m surprised more Americans aren’t concerned about that.

Monsanto: One Of The Most Hated Organizations On Earth Is Trying To Change Its Name

My Comments:

Willard Mitt Romney entered into management consulting and had a position at Bain and Company. He eventually served as it’s CEO and led it out of a financial crisis. He was the founder too of a spinoff company Bain Capital, a profitable equity investment firm. He had an excellent record of success with clients like Monsanto Company, Burlington Industries, and Corning Incorporated. Of course Monsanto is responsible for the majority of GMO seeds and foods in our nation today. In his Bain years, the GOP nominee helped fashion Monsanto into a biotech giant.

According to investigators, Mitt Romney and Bain not only saved Monsanto from going out of business, he personally orchestrated the corporation’s push to alter the world’s food supply, and then patent it.

Monsanto makes its billions in profits from its monopoly on the world’s food. That monopoly doesn’t come from having a store in every neighborhood or buying-out every competitor in the industry. Instead, Monsanto is changing the genetic structure of the Earth’s food so that it’s no longer food, but Monsanto trademarked, lab-created, food-like products.

monssThis week it was reported that Monsanto recently attempted to change their name, since they have now become one of the most hated organizations on the face of the planet. In a recent merger agreement with Swiss biotech rival Syngenta, Monsanto allegedly tried to propose creating a new company entirely, in order to deceive the public about who was in charge .

Last week, Syngenta made a letter public, which was sent from Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant back in April 18th, during the negotiations of the merger. In the letter, Grant suggested that as a part of their agreement, Monsanto would “also propose a new name for the combined company to reflect its unique global nature.”As Gary Ruskin of the consumer organization U.S. Right to Know pointed out “Monsanto wants to escape its ugly history by ditching its name. This shows how desperate Monsanto is to escape criticism: of its products, which raise environmental and health concerns, as well as concerns about corporate control of agriculture and our food system.”As consumers become more health conscious, companies that manufacture junk food are being forced to get creative with how they sell their products. Even unpopular ingredients like high fructose corn syrup are now being forced to rebrand, because people are learning more and more about how damaging it is.

For those of you who dont know, Monsanto is one of the wealthiest multinational corporations in the world and is also one of the most ruthless. Behind the false image of innocence created by their lawyers and public relations, this company is as evil as they come. Thousands of lawsuits have been filed against this corporate giant worldwide, but because of their incredible wealth they are usually able to settle out of court for large sums and pay off the media so their crimes are not exposed to the public.

Monsanto has a very nasty history, before they were in the food industry they primarily dealt with chemicals. Since the beginning of the 20th century they were responsible for the manufacture of various toxic chemicals, which includes anything from caffeine to Agent Orange, along with other dangerous pesticides and herbicides. Monsanto even helped develop uranium for the atomic bomb in the Manhattan Project. Their chemical roundup has been known to cause dozens of different plant diseases and does unknown damage to the ecosystem, just as their other pesticides do. Monsanto does their fair share of destruction to our environment and our food supply, but their genetically modified food programs have taken this corporation a sinister step forward. Through tampering with the genetics of various plants and animals they are looking to have a complete monopoly over the world’s food and agriculture industries. This may seem difficult to believe, but policies that Monsanto had established in the past and the plans they have for the future show very clearly what is going on.

It’s Official. McDonalds And Monsanto Are Both “Losing Money Fast”

Mcdon

In a series of headlines that would pass as virtually unbelievable several years ago, mainstream economists are sounding the alarm over the financial decline of both fast food giant McDonald’s and biotech juggernaut Monsanto.

CNN asks, ‘Is McDonald’s doomed?’ Business Insider declares that ‘McDonald’s Is Losing America’ as the company fires its own CEO. What’s happening? As it turns out, the world is starting to ask what they’re truly eating in their food — and the new conglomerate of natural grocers and restaurants are trailblazing the way into an entirely new economic environment. In other words: people are simply tired of shoveling garbage into their bodies, and they’re not going to put up with it anymore.

Here’s just a few of the ingredients you can find in many fast food meals:

– Dimethylpolysiloxane – A chemical known for its use in silicone breast implants, silly putty, and also… chicken nuggets

– Propylene glycol – A laxative chemical and electronic cigarette filler that even e-cigarette companies are beginning to phase out

– Azodicarbonamide – A chemical used in the creation of foamed plastic items like yoga mats.

So are you surprised to find that many are turning away from fast food leaders like McDonald’s?

Nations around the world are already rejecting the ensemble of artificial ingredients included in many staple McDonald’s meal options. Back in 2013, their attempts to expand operations in Bolivia were completely shut down by the reality that the Bolivian citizens were not willing to purchase their fast food creations. As reported back in July of 2013:

“McDonald’s restaurants operated in Bolivia for 14 years, according to Hispanically Speaking. In 2002, they had to shutter their final remaining 8 stores because they simply couldn’t turn a profit—and if you know fast food companies, you know it’s not because they didn’t try.

The Golden Arches sunk plenty of money into marketing and campaigning—trying to get the food-loving Bolivians to warm to their French fries and burgers, but it simply wasn’t happening.”

And they’re absolutely still trying to become ‘relevant’ again in the United States, as natural food giants like Whole Foods are able to offer a medley of organic-based options for the same price of a Happy Meal with extra fries. Even CNN Money admits that with public knowledge expanding over these meal options, McDonald’s is fighting to stay relevant. Paul R. La Monica, reporting for the CNN Money column, writes:

“Are the meals no longer as happy for McDonald’s customers as they used to be? The fast food giant definitely seems worried.

McDonald’s (MCD) reported lackluster quarterly results last week. And company executives used the words “relevance,” “relevant” and “relevancy” a combined 20 times during its conference call with analysts. Translation: the leaders of the Golden Arches are very concerned about whether the company is still relevant.

If you look at the expected growth rates for Mickey D’s biggest burger rivals — as well as upstarts in the so-called fast casual restaurant chain industry — I’d be “Grimace”-ing too. (Sorry. But I miss that purple blob!)”

From Super Bowl commercials to mega marketing campaigns, McDonald’s is shoveling cash into their PR machine — something they have in common with GMO juggernaut Monsanto. Another company that is facing a financial loss amid increased awareness and international import issues. As the Associated Pressarticle ‘Monsanto Loses $156 Million in Fiscal Fourth Quarter’ explains, the multinational corporation has entered a very unique loss period that spells out a lot about the future of its GMO technology:

“Monsanto Co. on Wednesday reported a loss of $156 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.

The St. Louis-based company said it had a loss of 31 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 27 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 24 cents per share.”

The news comes as Monsanto continues to spend millions in attempts to stop GMO labeling campaigns around the nation, funding opposition groups and ensuring that you don’t know what’s in your food. After all, there’s a reason that 96% of Monsanto shareholders absolutely do not want GMO labeling legislation to pass within the US — it could hurt business.

As information continues to spread on key issues like the prevalence of toxic substances within fast food meals and the reality behind GMOs and their secrecy, there is no doubt that these two companies (and many others) will experience the economic backlash. Will they change in order to meet the new economic shift?
