A series of undercover videos revealed the disturbing practice, prompting Planned Parenthood Executive Vice President Dawn Laguens to respond.
CNN’s Jake Tapper and Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson discussed the ongoing controversy surrounding Planned Parenthood’s apparent complicity in the harvest and sale of aborted body parts during a recent segment of The Lead.
A series of undercover videos revealed the disturbing practice, prompting Planned Parenthood Executive Vice President Dawn Laguens to respond. In a statement this week, she declared that those who released the footage engaged in a “grossly offensive act” against an organization that exists to “foster an environment in our country where providers of essential women’s health care and their patients are not subject to threats, harassment and intimidation.”
Tapper asked Carson for his reaction to Laguens’s reaction.
“The argument is,” the host began, “that none of the federal money pays for abortion. That is separate funding; and by defunding Planned Parenthood you would be eliminating all these other vital medical procedures, which you as a doctor know.”
Carson replied: “All of the services she mentioned are available through multiple other sources.”
He continued, alleging that the taxpayer-supported organization “makes money selling baby parts” and “doesn’t seem to understand the sanctity of human life and is willing to destroy that.”
Tapper used Carson’s point regarding disproportionately high numbers of Planned Parenthood facilities in minority communities to suggest that poor Americans might need the health services these clinics provide.
“I thought they were supposed to be able to get all of these things based on Obamacare,” Carson retorted. “Why do we need Planned Parenthood?”

In her first public interview since two top Planned Parenthood doctors were caught arranging for the sale of body parts of aborted babies, Planned parenthood CEO defended selling aborted babies and attacked pro-lifers.
In an interview with ABC News, Richards slammed what she called “highly-edited videos” released by “militant pro-life activists,” who she said were killers because they supposedly bomb abortion clinics. Never mind that the full, unedited videos have been released and the pro-life advocates involved in the undercover work to expose Planned Parenthood have never engaged in violent or illegal activities.
In the interview, Richards says she’s not worried about the dozen videos the pro-life muckraker behind the undercover investigations says are still to come because this is a “three-year, well-funded effort by the most militant wing of the anti-abortion movement in this country to try to entrap doctors, and, of course, highly-doctored videos.” Richards claims David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress and the people behind the videos are “part of the most militant anti-abortion movement that has been behind the bombing of clinics, the murder of doctors in their homes and in their churches, and that’s what actually needs to be looked at.”

The most damaging aspect of the interview is perhaps the section during which Richards tells the host that Planned Parenthood is not making a profit over the sale of the aborted baby body parts. When the host shows her part of the video where Planned Parenthod’s doctor is haggling about the sales prices of aborted baby body parts, Richards lies and says it’s the buyer doing the negotiating.
As LifeNews reported, new undercover footage shows Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, describing how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of aborted unborn children and admitting she uses partial-birth abortions to supply intact body parts.
In the second video, Planned Parenthood doctor Gatter discusses the pricing of aborted baby body parts — telling the biotech company officials that the prices for such things as a baby’s liver, head or heart are negotiable. She also tells the officials that she could talk with the Planned Parenthood abortion practitioners to potentially alter the abortion procedure to kill the baby in a way that would best preserve those body parts after the unborn child is killed in the abortion.
The Obama administration is connected to at least one of the Planned Parenthood doctors in the video. Nucatola is an Obama administration adviser and she also serves on the board of a pro-abortion sex ed group founded by a former Obama administration official and whose board includes current Obama administration staff.
Reacting to the video, President Barack Obama’s top spokesman Josh Earnest indicated Obama will definitely not agree with pro-life Republicans in Congress to revoke funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

As head of PPFA’s Medical Services department, Nucatola has overseen medical practice at all Planned Parenthood locations since 2009. She also trains new Planned Parenthood abortion doctors and performs abortions herself at Planned Parenthood Los Angeles up to 24 weeks.
Nucatola admits that Planned Parenthood charges per-specimen for baby body parts, uses pseudo-partial-birth abortion procedures in order to get salable parts, and is aware of their own liability for doing so and takes steps to cover it up.

The buyers ask Nucatola, “How much of a difference can that actually make, if you know kind of what’s expected, or what we need?”

“It makes a huge difference,” Nucatola replies. “I’d say a lot of people want liver. And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they’ll know where they’re putting their forceps. The kind of rate-limiting step of the procedure is calvarium. Calvarium—the head—is basically the biggest part.”
Nucatola explains, “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”
“And with the calvarium, in general, some people will actually try to change the presentation so that it’s not vertex,” she continues. “So if you do it starting from the breech presentation, there’s dilation that happens as the case goes on, and often, the last step, you can evacuate an intact calvarium at the end.”
In a video response to the heavy criticism, Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards apologizes for the tone the Nucatola took but not for selling the body parts of aborted babies.
Dr. Nucatola said, “You’re just kind of cognizant of where you put your graspers, you try to intentionally go above and below the thorax, so that, you know, we’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m going to basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”
The abortionist also explains that Planned Parenthood charges per-specimen for baby body parts and is aware of their own liability for doing so. When asked about a price, she said, “I would say it’s probably anywhere from $30 to $100, depending on the facility and what’s involved.” Unbelievably, she admits that some body parts, such as livers and heads, are much more popular and go for a higher price than other specimen.

The Center for Medical Progress has released its second undercover video that features two individuals posing as “buyers” from a fetal tissue procurement company speaking with Mary Gatter, president, medical directors council, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA).
Like the first video of Dr. Deborah Nucatola speaking matter-of-factly about abortion and fetal tissue procurement, this video exposed a similarly cold and brazen attitude by Gatter toward matters as shocking and surreal as selling the organs, body parts, and/or tissue from an aborted baby to a procurement company that would turn around and sell it to biotech firms doing stem cell research.
Like Nucatola, Gatter spoke about “volume” when talking about the number of abortions they perform. Also like Nucatola, Gatter avoided the word abortion. And babies. Because the abortion industry is all about manipulating language in order to sterilize that which is gruesome and to distance itself from that which is human in order to do something utterly inhumane. And so the lexicon is all about tissue, specimens, suctioning, cases, volume, and waste.
Oh, and also money.
Early in the discussion Gatter raised the issue of money, and a negotiation about fees ensued. Gatter was initially reluctant to name a price out of concern that the person who names a price first tends to lose. But eventually she spit out a number: $75 per specimen.
Gatter followed up by saying that Planned Parenthood is “not in it for the money” and that they “don’t want to be in the position of selling tissue.” She’s got her talking points down and apparently knows enough about the law to know she’s got to cover her you-know-what when speaking on this subject.
But.
There are costs involved that Planned Parenthood needs to recoup, such as use of its space by the procurement company – which is precisely how this devious arrangement works in order to get around the law that prohibits sale of fetal tissue for money. (To learn more about that, see here.)
After talking about money, the participants moved their conversation to abortion techniques and how said techniques may be adapted to improve the chances of getting an “intact specimen.” As with the monetary discussions, Gatter appeared to have her talking points down. She stated that they cannot change their technique in order to improve their chances of getting a “specimen” that would not be in acceptable condition for the procurement company to take. However, like Nucatola, Gatter soon expressed a willingness to reconsider and offered to speak with Ian, their surgeon who does the “cases.” Or more specifically, she would find out how Ian would feel about using a “less crunchy” technique to get more whole specimens.
At the end of the conversation, Gatter reiterated that money was not the important thing.
Uh-huh.
No, wait.
She wanted to make sure the amount they discussed was similar to what other Planned Parenthood affiliates are receiving from procurement companies.
Oh, I see. She wants to make sure she’s not being ripped off.
No, wait.
“It has to be big enough that it’s worthwhile for me.”
Wow, for someone not concerned about money, this sure is taking on a life of its own.
And then, with a somewhat nervous laugh, she said: “I want a Lamborghini.”
Ah. I see.
Hey, lady. You just exposed the face of Planned Parenthood. The face, the words, the tone, the attitude, and worst of all, the activity of destroying thriving babies in the womb and then selling their parts.
In the wake of these video releases, Planned Parenthood is claiming victim status. (Is there any other status these days?) Breitbart reports:
In a threatening five-page letter issued yesterday through one of its lawyers, Planned Parenthood complained to Congress that undercover investigators from the Center for Medical Progress had harassed and unlawfully infiltrated its clinics for years. (snip)
It appears that Planned Parenthood chief executive Cecile Richards issued an all-points bulletin to Planned Parenthood abortion clinics and offices around the country to ask if any had been visited by David Daleiden and his team posing as entrepreneurs of a fictitious company called Biomax Procurement Services. The letter warns of more videos to come as, according to the New York Times, “abortion opponents” had “infiltrated” clinics nationwide “posing questions to unsuspecting employees and patients.”
The letter accuses Daleiden of being involved in at least 10 “attacks” on Planned Parenthood offices over the previous eight years, including his time as director of research for Live Action, the pro-life group that pioneered undercover reporting on Planned Parenthood abuses. Planned Parenthood expects up to 65 recordings to surface.
Planned Parenthood also accuses Daleiden’s setting up a phony corporation may have violated state and federal laws involving “corporate filings and taxes.”
The Center for Medical Progress denies any wrongdoing or engagement in illegal activity.
I’m not a legal expert, but would like to offer a few words about undercover investigative reporting to Planned Parenthood: get over it! Investigative sting operations have been around for a long time and have been used by major news outlets as well as citizen-journalists. As Career News Insider reports: “Sometimes, getting the scoop on a story means doing more than simple research and interviews. Sometimes it requires a bigger and riskier sacrifice, like going undercover. Although the ethics and credibility of undercover tactics have been called into question, in some cases, the only way to unearth the truth is to go incognito.”
I believe that this describes what has been done in this case. And what had to be done. Can anyone imagine Planned Parenthood being forthcoming if a journalist who was not undercover were to ask its people about any of this barbarity? I think not.
In the first video, Nucatola noted that Planned Parenthood is always “under a microscope.” Now let’s make sure they’re under investigation.

‘Even more shocking’ footage, eyewitness testimony coming in Planned Parenthood scandal
Undercover video of a high-ranking Planned Parenthood official casually discussing the graphic dismemberment of the unborn rocked the abortion debate last week, and the head of the group behind the video says there’s much more to come.
The initial video focused on Planned Parenthood conducting abortions in a manner that would preserve fetal organs intact. The Human Capital Project of the Center for Medical Progress produced the video, alleging Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of aborted babies for profit. That is a violation of federal law punishable by imprisonment and hefty fines. Planned Parenthood says it donates fetal tissue for medical research and only charges for the amount needed to be reimbursed for its efforts to donate the specimens.
Reaction to the both the content of the video and the casual manner in which Planned Parenthood Senior Director of Medical Services Dr. Deborah Nucatola describes such grisly actions elicited a swift response. Five states and three congressional committees are launching investigations.
Center for Medical Progress President David Deleiden told WND and Radio America this video was part of a 30-month undercover operation at Planned Parenthood. He said what we’ve seen thus far is just the tip of the iceberg.
“We have dozens and dozens of hours of very shocking, troubling footage and admissions from within the top levels of the abortion industry and Planned Parenthood, coming straight from the words of top level Planned Parenthood executives and officials and medical directors and abortion doctors,” Deleiden said.

“We have probably 100-200 pages of Planned Parenthood body parts purchases, internal documents about the practice,” he added.

Separate orders from other facilities including UCLA, University of Massachusetts, Harvard University, Temple University, Yale University, Stanford University and The Rockefeller University were made for brains, calvarium (skulls), livers, thymuses, skin, kidneys, pancreases and inferior vena cava (a large vein that carries blood to the heart).

StemExpress, which is run by Planned Parenthood abortion doctor Ronald Berman, offers its procurement technicians bonuses based on the baby parts they harvest, according to the Center for Medical Progress. Larger bonuses are offered for more valuable body parts, classified as “Category A” parts, while smaller bonuses are given for “Category C” parts. (A list of those parts and their categories is available at the bottom of this report.)
Deleiden said more compelling video will soon emerge.
“We also have very compelling eyewitness testimony from people who were actually in real life involved in the harvesting of aborted baby parts at Planned Parenthood clinics,” he said.
The roll-out of the videos and documents will come over the coming days and weeks. Deleiden said there are good reasons for this to come out in stages.
“The whole issue of Planned Parenthood’s baby parts sales is such a complex and multi-layered phenomenon that it’s really important, especially in our 24-hour news cycle, that each piece of evidence gets a fair hearing and gets all the attention that is due to it, so that you don’t actually lose the audience as you’re trying to move forward and educate the public about everything that’s going on,” he said.
How did the harvesting and alleged selling of unborn baby body parts become the focal point of this probe? Deleiden said he and his allies did not know much about the issue when the undercover work started because no one had aggressively investigated it in the past 15 years.
“There’s sort of been a renaissance of fetal tissue harvesting at Planned Parenthood clinics in the past five years,” he said. “That was the extent of our knowledge getting into this whole project. Really, everything we’ve learned we’ve learned from the mouths of the abortion doctors and the Planned Parenthood leaders themselves. So we just listened and continued to add to the pile of evidence for two-and-a-half years.”
On Thursday, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards released a video statement to respond to the allegations from the Center for Medical Progress. Richards vehemently denies selling aborted baby parts for profit but admits to donating fetal tissue for research if the families wish to do so. She denounced the Center for Medical Progress but did apologize for the tone of Dr. Nucatola’s comments as lacking compassion.
Deleiden is not impressed.
“It’s a pretty belated apology, coming three days late from Planned Parenthood. I’m also curious what they think is compassionate about saving a baby’s head for laughs or making sure that you don’t crush a certain part so you can sell it later. It seems to me like it’s less of an apology and more of a cynical, last-minute excuse,” he said, noting the tone doesn’t change in the videos still to be released.
“The kind of conversation that our investigators had with Planned Parenthood’s new director of medical services was pretty much mirrored in every other conversation that we had with their abortion doctors,” Deleiden said. “There were many statements made over the past two-and-a-half years that were even more shocking than what was said at that lunch meeting.”
He says Nucatola’s comments also give lie to Planned Parenthood’s insistence that patient safety is always the top priority.
“If Planned Parenthood is really a legitimate medical provider, you’re expecting them to put the interests of the patient first,” he said. “As the Planned Parenthood senior director of medical services says in the video, when they are manipulating the abortion procedure and changing things about their technique with the goal of getting better body parts for sale, they’re not putting the interests of the patient first.”
As for the long-term impact on the abortion debate, Deleiden said these videos will demonstrate how illogical abortion laws really are.
“According to our laws, an unborn child is not considered fully human enough to be fully protected by the law,” he said. “They’re not protected from being killed by abortion. At the same time, it’s precisely because of their humanity that their body parts are so valuable for sale to biotech companies and for scientific experimentation. That’s why researchers hunt after their body parts like buried treasure.
“It’s a really disturbing paradox to a lot of people, where we’re saying children are more valuable dead than alive.”

A disturbing reminder of who our President chose to serve as his co-president — and why.
Barack Obama’s closest and most influential adviser, Valerie Jarrett, has never been an enigma. She was, after all, the person most responsible for bringing the revolutionary communist Van Jones into the Administration six years ago, so her bona fides as a radical extremist have long been obvious to anyone who wasn’t afraid to notice. But a newly released report from Judicial Watch, which examines key FBI documents related to Jarrett’s many family ties to hardcore Communists, brings bold color to what previously were gray areas. The effect is nothing short of breathtaking, when we consider that the twice-elected President of our nation chose this woman—and no one else—to serve, essentially, as his co-president.
Valerie Jarrett’s late father—a physician named James Bowman—had a lengthy FBI file showing that he was a Communist who often collaborated with other Communists based principally in Chicago. In 1950, for instance, Bowman communicated with a paid Soviet agent named Alfred Stern, who later fled the U.S. to Prague when he was indicted on espionage charges that were ultimately confirmed beyond doubt—specifically, he had conspired to transmit military and political information to the Soviet Union. Bowman was also a member of the Association of Internes and Medical Students, a group that, according to his FBI file, engaged in un-American activities and “has long been a faithful follower of the Communist Party line.”
So much for dear-old-Dad.
Valerie Jarrett’s mother is the early-childhood-education author Barbara Taylor Bowman (born 1928), who in 1966 co-founded a Chicago-based graduate school in child development known as the Erikson Institute, named after the psychoanalyst Erik Erikson. In 1950 Erikson became a hero to the Left by choosing to resign from his professorship at the University of California rather than sign an anti-Communist loyalty oath as the school required. The Erikson Institute’s radical orientation is reflected in the fact that its board of trustees has included such figures as Bernardine Dohrn, wife of the former Weather Underground terrorist and lifelong Marxist Bill Ayers, and Tom Ayers, father of the same lifelong Marxist.
Okay, so much for Mommy.
Jarrett’s maternal grandfather was a Chicagoan named Robert Taylor, the first African-American head of the Chicago Housing Authority. In the 1940s he was involved with such Communist fronts as the American Peace Mobilization and the Chicago Civil Liberties Committee. A fellow member of these groups was Frank Marshall Davis, the Communist journalist who in the 1970s would mentor a young Barack Obama. An FBI document shows that Taylor, like Valerie Jarrett’s father, was believed to have been “in contact” with the aforementioned Soviet agent Alfred Stern “on a number of occasions.”
Oh dear. So much for Grandpa.
Well, how about Grandma? Remember going to your own grandmother’s house on Sunday afternoons, years ago, for fresh-baked pies, sweet jam, and lots of hugs? Valerie Jarrett’s maternal grandmother, Dorothy Taylor, was an activist with Planned Parenthood in its early years. Planned Parenthood was founded in 1942 by Margaret Sanger, a member of the New York Socialist Party and a eugenicist who favored the use of use birth control to limit the reproduction of society’s “least intelligent and fit” members. Toward that end, Sanger in 1939 created the so-called “Negro Project” specifically to prevent black people from breeding. Her Birth Control Review magazine once published an article emphasizing the “urgent need” for “eugenic sterilization.” That piece was penned by none other than Ernst Rüdin, who, as Jonah Goldberg points out, was Adolf Hitler’s director of sterilization and a founder of the Nazi Society for Racial Hygiene.

Eventually, the time came for Valerie to explore love and marriage. In 1983 she wed Dr. William Robert Jarrett, son of the Chicago Sun-Times reporter Vernon Jarrett. And Valerie got along just splendidly with her new father-in-law, who surely must’ve reminded her very much of Daddy and Gramps.
You see, in the 1940s Vernon Jarrett had been the first nationally syndicated black columnist for the Communist-influenced Chicago Defender, where he wrote pieces extolling the Communist poet Langston Hughes and lifelong Stalinists like W.E.B. DuBois and Paul Robeson. Also in the ’40s, Vernon Jarrett was a leader of the Chicago chapter of American Youth for Democracy—the youth wing of the Communist Party USA. Moreover, he served on a publicity committee for the Packinghouse Workers Union, a Chicago-based entity dominated by the Communist Party. In each of these endeavors, Vernon Jarrett had close contact with the Communist Frank Marshall Davis—who, as noted above, later became Barack Obama’s mentor.
According to his FBI files, Vernon Jarrett was a leading Chicago-based Communist. “For a period of time,” reports Judicial Watch, his name “appeared on the FBI’s Security Index and [he] was considered a potential Communist saboteur who was to be arrested in the event of a conflict with the [USSR]. His FBI file reveals that he was assigned to write propaganda for a Communist Party front group in Chicago that would ‘disseminate the Communist Party line among … the middle class.’”
There were lots of tears when Vernon Jarrett died in 2004, but also many laudatory remembrances. Not the least of those was a glowing salute in the pages of People’s Weekly World, the house organ of the Communist Party.
These, then, are the people who raised and most heavily influenced a young Valerie Jarrett; the people who made her who she is today. Is it any wonder, then, that she gravitated so quickly and eagerly to Barack and Michelle Obama when she first met them in the late 1980s? Is it any wonder that when Barack Obama won the presidency in 2008, he appointed Jarrett to a prominent position in the new Administration: Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs?
Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank tells us that Valerie Jarrett’s connection to Obama is “deep and personal,” calling her “the real center of Obama’s inner circle.” Milbank describes Jarrett as someone in a “position of unparalleled influence over the president.” Obama himself has acknowledged that he solicits Jarrett’s input on every decision he makes.
Jarrett, for her part, puts it this way: “We have kind of a mind meld. And chances are, what he wants to do is what I’d want to do.” “I kind of know what makes them [the Obamas] who they are,” she adds.
Truer words have never been spoken.

The footage shockingly depicts the top medical official at the Planned Parenthood corporation munching on her salad while she discusses the sale of body parts of unborn children victimized by abortions. She brazenly describes how the heads of unborn babies killed in abortions command top dollar.
The buyers ask Nucatola, “How much of a difference can that actually make, if you know kind of what’s expected, or what we need?”
“It makes a huge difference,” Nucatola replies. “I’d say a lot of people want liver. And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they’ll know where they’re putting their forceps. The kind of rate-limiting step of the procedure is calvarium. Calvarium—the head—is basically the biggest part.”
Nucatola explains, “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”
“And with the calvarium, in general, some people will actually try to change the presentation so that it’s not vertex,” she continues. “So if you do it starting from the breech presentation, there’s dilation that happens as the case goes on, and often, the last step, you can evacuate an intact calvarium at the end.”
Federal law prohibits the sale of body parts of aborted babies. In fact, the sale or purchase of human fetal tissue a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000 (42 U.S.C. 289g-2).
Nucatola also reveals that Planned Parenthood’s national office is concerned about their liability for the sale of fetal parts.
“At the national office, we have a Litigation and Law Department which just really doesn’t want us to be the middle people for this issue right now,” she says. “But I will tell you that behind closed doors these conversations are happening with the affiliates.”
A separate clip shows Planned Parenthood President and CEO Cecile Richards praising Nucatola’s work to facilitate connections for fetal tissue collection. “Oh good,” Richards says when told about Nucatola’s support for fetal tissue collection at Planned Parenthood, “Great. She’s amazing.”
The video is the first by The Center for Medical Progress in its “Human Capital” series, a nearly 3-year-long investigative journalism study of Planned Parenthood’s illegal trafficking of aborted fetal parts.
The head of the project, David Daleiden, reacted to the shocking footage his team captured: “Planned Parenthood’s criminal conspiracy to make money off of aborted baby parts reaches to the very highest levels of their organization. Elected officials must listen to the public outcry for Planned Parenthood to be held accountable to the law and for our tax dollars to stop underwriting this barbaric abortion business.”
Operation Rescue President Troy Newman serves on the Board of Daleiden’s Center for Medical Progress. During this investigation, Newman advised Daleiden, providing consultation services and material support.
“Abortionists use ultrasound like a butcher uses scales to sell meat by the pound for profit,” said Newman in an email to LifeNews. “Evidence further shows that Planned Parenthood has gone to great lengths to keep the public from ever knowing about their illicit human body-parts trade, understanding that if news were to leak, it could spell doom for the abortion giant.”

To garner the endorsement from the pro-abortion group Emily’s List, a Democratic candidate must take the most radical and extreme position on abortion. Candidates must support forcing Americans to pay for abortions with their tax dollars and oppose any limits on abortions, including any limits on late-term abortions.
Not only is Emily’s List endorsing Hillary Clinton, the radical group is putting together a multi-million dollar campaign on her behalf to keep the White House in pro-abortion hands.
For a couple years now, EMILY’s List, a group that helps Democratic women who support abortion rights, has been running an effort called Madam President to help propel a woman into the White House.
It never was just about Hillary Clinton, though the group didn’t seem to mind too much when people thought it was. But now, let there be no confusion, EMILY’s List, has set its sights on supporting Clinton.
EMILY’s List is launching an independent expenditure, the largest in it’s 30-year history, focused entirely on her.
“At EMILY’s List, there is nothing we want more than to shatter the highest glass ceiling and see that a woman is finally elected as president of the United States,” Executive director Denise Feriozzi wrote in a memo to donors. “EMILY’s List has been working for 30 years to lay the groundwork for this moment. Our research consistently shows that Americans are ready for a woman president, and most importantly, ready for a fighter for women and families – and we have that in Hillary Clinton.”

The group expects to raise millions of dollars to persuade and turn out female voters in targeted states through polling, message testing, targeting and voter outreach including television ads and a digital campaign.
Clinton, who recently slammed the House of Representatives for passing a bill to ban late-term abortions, has a long pro-abortion history.
Most recently, Hillary Clinton pushed abortion at a fundraising event in March. One year to the date after she received an award from the radical pro-abortion group Emily’s List, likely presidential candidate Hillary Clinton gave the keynote address last night at a fundraiser for the organization.
Clinton’s speech came at the Emily’s List 30th Anniversary Conference and Gala in Washington, D.C. and she applauded the work of the abortion activists, who strongly support taxpayer funding of abortions and strongly oppose banning late-term abortions.
“When I look at this room, I see leaders,” Clinton said, encouraging the pro-abortion activists gathered to redouble their efforts.
Last year, Clinton said that to be pro-woman is to be pro-abortion. Clinton, at a pro-Braley rally, told voters in Iowa, “It’s not enough to be a woman, you have to be committed to expand rights and opportunities for all women.” Because Joni Ernst (who defeated Braley) thinks unborn babies should be protected, she isn’t committed to expanding rights and opportunities for women?
National Right to Life’s Carol Tobias said in response: “Pro-abortion advocates like to say abortion is a woman’s issue, but only pro-abortion women should voice their opinions. Indeed, they come very close to saying it is illegitimate for a woman who is pro-life to speak on abortion. The voices of pro-life women just don’t count. The hypocrisy, or should I say the gall, of people who think you have to want to kill unborn children in order to be pro-woman is stunning.”
Meanwhile, Clinton launched a new partnership with the Gates Foundation, that supports abortion. The Gates Foundation operated by Bill and Melinda Gates supports abortion and the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
Clinton says she admires Margaret Sanger, the racist founder of the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
In her role as Secretary of State Clinton pressed for abortion on an international scale. As recently as June 2012, she was upset the document the United Nations adopted at its Rio+20 conference did not promote abortion by inserting terms like “reproductive rights” into he language of the text.
A diverse group of countries rallied together with the Holy See to successfully remove any mention of reproductive rights or population control from the final outcome document produced during the last round of UN negotiations at the Rio +20 conference. The UN Population Fund (UNFPA), along with Norway and Iceland, and Catholics for Choice and the International Planned Parenthood Federation, worked feverishly to take advantage of the Rio +20 conference on sustainable development in order to promote both an international right to abortion and population control.
However, nations like Nicaragua, Chile, Russia, Honduras, Syria, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Egypt all rejected the introductionof “reproductive rights” into the Rio +20 outcome document.
Responding to the resounding defeat, Clinton said she was disappointed, according to a CNS News report.
“While I am very pleased that this year’s outcome document endorses sexual and reproductive health and universal access to family planning, to reach our goals in sustainable development we also have to ensure women’s reproductive rights,” she said. “Women must be empowered to make decisions about whether and when to have children. And the United States will continue – the United States will continue to work to ensure that those rights are respected in international agreements.”
Clinton personally urged Obama to veto a State Department funding bill over cuts to groups that perform and promote abortions.
In 2010, she testified before a Congressional committee where two pro-life members of Congress presented her with a long lecture on abortion and how it hurts women.
Congressmen Chris Smith, a New Jersey Republican, and Jeff Fortenberry, a Nebraska Republican, both addressed pro-life issues during the hearing.
Smith, who had frequently led the fight against abortion on an international scale, made his full remarks with Clinton sitting as the lone witness at the witness table.
“Secretary Clinton, the most persecuted and at risk minority in the world today are unborn children,” Smith said. “Pregnancy is not a disease. The child in the womb is neither a tumor nor a parasite to be destroyed.”
Smith said he is troubled by President Barack Obama’s decision to overturn the Mexico City Policy and open the door forcing taxpayers to fund abortions in other nations.
“I am deeply concerned that with the elimination of the Mexico City Policy by executive order last year, NGO implementing partners may actively seek to integrate abortion with the many necessary and noble undertakings funded by the Global Health Initiative,” he said.
“I respectfully ask that the administration consider that for many of us, all abortion—legal or illegal—is violence against children and poses significant, often underappreciated risks to women and even to children later born to post-abortive women,” Smith added.

Richard Mellon Scaife
Richard Mellon Scaife (born July 3, 2026) was an American billionaire and newspaper publisher. Scaife owned and published the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. With $1.2 billion, Scaife, a principal heir to the Carnegie-Mellon banking, oil, and aluminum fortune, was No. 283 on the 2005 Forbes 400. In May, 2014, he announced that he had untreatable cancer. Link On Friday, July 4th, 2014, Richard Mellon Scaife died at the age of 82. Link Scaife has been a huge financial supporter of Heritage Foundation for many decades, as well as being on their board of trustees for years. Link
Scaife provided support for a variety of organizations through the private, non-profit foundations he controlled: the Sarah Scaife Foundation (2012-990), Carthage Foundation, and Allegheny Foundation, and until 2001, the Scaife Family Foundation 2012-990), now controlled by his daughter Jennie and son David, children by his first wife. He was thought of as a neo-conservative donor, yet he funded both sides of the aisle.
Then there’s the Colcom Foundation (2012-990), run by Scaife’s sister, Cordelia Scaife May, until her death in 2005. Scroll down in the 990 form to the grants, and you’ll see that Cordelia May funded population control proponents, environmentalists, Carnegie-Mellon, the Nature Conservancy, John Tanton’s organizations, etc. Cordelia Scaife May was an environmentalist committed to population control, and believed limiting immigration was the best way to do it. She founded the Colcom Foundation to advance this goal, providing tens of millions to anti-immigrant groups, as well as funding environmental organizations. I would agree to limiting immigration, but not for the same reasons Cordelia and Richard had for funding these organizations.
Cordelia May was a close friend of John Tanton, another conservationist turned anti-immigration activist, responsible for the creation of a network of anti-immigrant groups, such as the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) and Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and Numbers USA, headed by Roy Beck. The latter is promoting E-Verify, which would subject all Americans to an international databank. How would you like to go through a federal data bank in order to get a job? Since 2001, Colcom has been the primary funder for many groups in the anti-immigrant John Tanton Network, giving over $17 million to Numbers USA, almost $15 million to FAIR, and more than $6 million to CIS.
Richard Mellon Scaife had long agreed with his sister, Cordelia Richard Scaife. Through his management of the Carthage Foundation and the Sarah Scaife Foundation, and together with the Scaife Family Foundation (controlled by Richard Scaife’s children since 2001), he strongly supported Tanton’s organizations with huge donations. He has donated more than $4 million to FAIR and more than $3 million to CIS since the early 1990s. Additionally, since 2001, the Scaife foundations have given Numbers USA $987,500. So let’s take a closer look at the Tanton Network.
John Tanton’s Numbers USA
Many conservatives are familiar with Roy Beck from Numbers USA. Roy Beck is the heir apparent to John Tanton’s network. Numbers USA has maintained a number of questionable contacts, such as the brazen Holocaust denier Jim Rizoli, who was listed as the group’s state contact for Massachusetts in early 2011. In its 2009 video, “Immigration 103—American Trauma: Jobs and the Economy,” Numbers USA featured the testimony of Roan Garcia-Quintana, a board member of the white nationalist organization, Council of Conservative Citizens. At a CofCC national conference, Garcia-Quintana stated, “There are three types of people in the world: Negroids, Mongroids, and Caucasians.”
From 1977 to 1981, columnist Samuel T. Francis was a policy analyst at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., specializing in foreign affairs, terrorism, and intelligence and internal security issues. Francis also wrote the Council of Conservative Citizens‘ platform, the “Statement of Principles.” Francis was editor of the Citizens Informer quarterly newsletter (published by the Council of Conservative Citizens) and an editor of The Occidental Quarterly, a white nationalist journal edited by Kevin Lamb and sponsored by William Regnery II.
Roy Beck’s writings have appeared on the anti-immigrant blog VDARE.com. VDARE was founded by the white nationalist, Peter Brimelow, and regularly features anti-Semitic, homophobic, and flagrantly racist authors and articles. VDARE has long allowed Tanton personnel to bridge the gap between the more concealed bigotry of their anti-immigrant project and their explicit white nationalist tendencies.
Just who is John Tanton, and what does he represent? Here is a list of his networks, and notice population control and eugenics. John Tanton M.D. is “publisher of The Social Contract,” and served as editor for its first 8 years. He is a retired eye surgeon whose boyhood on a farm made him into an ardent “greenie” conservationist and advocate for the environment.
His conviction that continued human population growth was a large part of the conservation problem led him to chair the National Sierra Club Population Committee (1971-74), and to the national board of Zero Population Growth (1973-78, including a term as president, 1975-77). In 1979, Tanton shifted his focus towards fighting immigration to reduce the U.S. population, and organized the anti-immigrant Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) based in Washington, D.C. Since then, Tanton has formed, funded, or otherwise been affiliated with many prominent anti-immigration organizations, in what has been termed the John Tanton Network. He is also closely affiliated with a number of white supremacist organizations such as the Pioneer Fund, whose founders included CNP charter member, Senator Jesse Helms. Tanton’s close relationships with white nationalists and eugenics is documented at the Center for New Community.
Planned Parenthood Funding
Both Richard Mellon Scaife and his sister, Cordelia, were major donors to abortion rights advocates, and both have given millions to Planned Parenthood. Their mother, Sarah Mellon Scaife’s, favorite causes were population control, environmental conservation, and hospitals. As a matter of fact, Dick Scaife took out a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal on Monday, April 4, 2011. It was an open letter from Scaife to fellow conservatives, entitled, “Why Conservatives Should Oppose Efforts to Defund Planned Parenthood.” Obviously from his statements in this letter, he loved Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger. Scaife called abortions a “minor aspect of Planned Parenthood’s mission” even though they recently announced that all affiliates should prepare to operate at least one abortion clinic over the course of the next two years. It has always been my belief that our nation has lost the blessings of God because of our murder of innocents in their mothers’ wombs, and euthanizing our elderly. We are a culture of death. Yet, politicians, Tea Parties, and even our churches will not speak of these social issues which have destroyed the fabric and culture of American life and lifted the blessings of God from our nation.
In Part 12, of this series, we’ll take a look at a few of the top organizations funded by this so-called conservative, Richard Mellon Scaife, as well as his devotion and funding of Heritage Foundation.
