ALERT: Did Muslim Police Chief of Dearborn, Mich. Announce He’ll Enforce Shariah on Christians?

From THE CONSERVATIVE TRIBUNE

Ah, Dearbornistan. It’s the one place in America where the Council on American-Islamic Relations isn’t terribly concerned about the separation of church and state.

Dearborn has one of the largest populations of Muslims in the United States, with an estimated 40 percent of the city’s population being of Arab descent. So, for Ramadan, the police chief announced that he’s going to be enforcing a curfew on all residents — including Christians.

The Islamic holy month of Ramadan requires Muslims to fast from sunrise to sunset, meaning that many food shops are open 24 hours a day to accommodate fasting needs. The city has a curfew in effect during the hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday, with a slightly later curfew on the weekends.

Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad, a Muslim, said that the city’s Muslim parents should be extra careful making sure their children don’t congregate after those hours.

The first meal after sunset, iftar, and the last meal before sunrise, suhur, both take place during those hours. During the holy month, many Muslims will come together for those meals.

“When we find them in curfew violation we take them home the first time,” Haddad told reporters. “And the second time, we give them a ticket.” (H/T Shoebat)

It’s important to note that there are several viable alternative interpretations to what is being done here. On the one hand, the police chief could be reminding Muslims that while they are out during Ramadan, the rules will still apply to them. On the other hand, this could be seen as reminding non-Muslims to be respectful during the holiday. And even another way to interpret what’s happening is that the chief is enforcing curfews to keep Muslim children near their families and at home celebrating the religious meals required during Ramadan, and telling Christians and others to keep out of the way.

This isn’t the first time Shariah law has raised its ugly head in the Michigan city, and it’s not the first time the police chief and his deputy chief have come under fire for seemingly enforcing shariah law. The city arrested Christians for street preaching during a fair in the city and also refused to protect Christians who were being assaulted.

Given the police chief’s history, it’s alarming that he would make these kinds of comments without clarifying exactly what he is enforcing and why. In other words, if there are no sinister motives, he should say so.

Dearborn is also the city where The Home Depot employees receive special training to “better serve their Muslim customers and accommodate the religious sensitivities of their Muslim employees.”

The training was put on by none other than CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood front group usually seen picketing any slight visited upon the “religion of peace,” perceived or actual.

Just another day in Dearbornistan, the new liberal capital of crazy.

US Embassy moves Fourth of July Celebration to June 4 ‘out of respect for Ramadan’

My Friend’s comments:

How about if the Islamist “whiners” change Ramadan so it doesn’t interfere with our holidays? Huh? This sniveling and whining is getting to be a bit tiresome, don’tcha’ think?

By Thomas Lifson for AMERICAN THINKER

In a mind-boggling gesture of official US Government dhimmitude, the US Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia celebrated our sacred Independence Day holiday on June 4, so as to avoid any conflict with the month-long Ramadan celebration. If you think any Islamic countries – there are 57 of them (not counting ISIS) that count themselves officially Islamic – will move their DC embassy’s celebration of Ramadan to accommodate our Independence holiday, I have some bridges to sell you.

The Jakarta Post (hat tips: Pamela Geller and Jihad Watch) writes:

“US Embassy celebrates 4th of July earlier out of respect for Ramadhan,” by Dylan Amirio

The United States Embassy enjoyed its annual 4th of July celebration on Thursday, June 4, one month early, in order to respect the upcoming Ramadhan month, which will begin on June 17 and last for one month.

US Ambassador to Indonesia Robert O. Blake and US Ambassador to ASEAN Nina Hachigian presided over the festivities, which involved brass band renditions of the Star-Spangled Banner and the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya.

Blake explained that the theme of the event leaned toward “green” development, which supported the US’ focus on building and promoting a green economy and more environmentally sustainable development.

He also praised Indonesia’s performance as a fully functioning democracy, aiming for further collaboration between the two countries in the years to come.

“The US will continue to support Indonesia in the future through its democratic achievements. Democracy is an American value which we have championed since [the country’s birth in] 1776,” Blake told the crowd during the festivities at his residence near Taman Suropati, Central Jakarta, on Thursday.

He added that moving the 4th of July celebrations to June 4 was one done out of respect for the upcoming Ramadhan month, which will last from June 17 to July 17.

The event also showcased a number of American products and businesses, including the Zero FX Electric Motorcycles, which Blake explained were an environmentally friendly vehicle used by the California Highway Patrol.

Officially, embassies are the national territory* of the country being represented, not of the host country. So there is no need to accommodate local sensibilities in celebrating our most sacred national holiday. Perhaps the pipe dream of peddling electric motorcycles to one of the world’s biggest petroleum exporters that happens to have a pretty large conventional motorcycle industry of its own took precedence over our national dignity?

It is a bedrock of Islamic scripture that infidels must bow down in submission to Islam and Muslims, being tolerated so long as they endure humiliations and pay a special tax. Muslims have no obligations at all to infidels, which is why you will never see an counterpart to the submission just demonstrated by the US Embassy in Jakarta.

This is a moment of national dhimmitude and deep shame. I hope someone will ask Marie Harf to explain if any Muslim countries plan on moving their embassy’s Ramadan celebrations to accommodate our Independence Day. That would allow for some great Harfing.

The State Department website says:

“While diplomatic spaces remain the territory of the host state, an embassy or consulate represents a sovereign state.”
