Trump Versus the Politically Correct Road to Hell

BY JIM O’NEILL FOR CANADA FREE PRESS

Indeed the [surest] road to Hell is the gradual one—the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts….—C.S. Lewis “The Screwtape Letters”
ss than a prohibition on speaking the truth. …Expressed differently, when you hate the truth, then truth becomes “hate.”—David Kupelian “Is Trump America’s knight in shining armor?”

he United States is on the road to hell, no doubt. “We the people” have been traveling on it for decades—for the most part asleep at the wheel and cleverly lulled into a false sense of security.

I don’t mean hell in some existential spiritual sense, but in a mundane worldly way—hell on earth. Hell in a “Killing Fields” sort of way. “We the people” have been waking up to our peril mainly because the acceleration down that road has greatly increased in recent years. Also, Donald Trump’s iconoclastic style has blown away the stale and fetid atmosphere of “politics as usual” like a full force gale. And thank God for that.

Perhaps the most important thing that Trump has done is courageously refuse to be intimidated and muzzled by the strictures of political correctness. The term “politically correct” implies that any other way of thinking, speaking, writing, or being is incorrect.

The stern inflexibility of political correctness means that reasoned debate and democratic plurality are silenced—you are either politically correct (PC) or you are incorrect, i.e. you are wrong, and if you are wrong it is best that you just keep your mouth shut. In any event, what you have to say is not worth listening to.

PC was labeled “liberating tolerance” by Herbert Marcuse in the mid-1960s—an unintentionally humorous non sequitur if there ever was one. By the term “liberating tolerance” Marcuse meant total and uncompromising intolerance toward anything opposed to what he considered PC. The poisonous fruits of “liberating tolerance” are evident today in college campuses across the country.

Liberating tolerance, then, would mean intolerance against movements from the Right and toleration of movements from the Left.—Herbert Marcuse “Repressive Tolerance”

In other words, if you aren’t spouting leftist ideology then shut up. So much for free speech and a fair exchange of ideas. Marcuse’s “tolerance” boils down to “my way or the highway.”

Besides muzzling free speech, another insidious effect of PC is that it subtly shunts dialogue down restricted channels. As Noam Chomsky noted years ago, if you control the parameters of a debate—what can and cannot be discussed—then you have already won.

“The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum - even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there’s free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate.” —Noam Chomsky “The Common Good”

One example of recent vintage on how PC “allows” debate about certain subjects and not others is the issue of transgender rights in North Carolina. PC parameters encourage debate about the rights of transgender individuals, but treats discussion of the rights of heterosexual men and women as being inconsequential. To quote Attorney General Loretta Lynch:

More to the point, they [North Carolina’s legislature] created state-sponsored discrimination against transgender individuals, who simply seek to engage in the most private of functions in a place of safety and security—a right taken for granted by most of us. —Attorney General Loretta Lynch 5/9/16

What is ignored in Lynch’s comments are the rights of the vast majority of “we the people”—who also wish “to engage in the most private of functions in a place of safety and security.” The federal government wishes to deprive us of that “safety and security.” Especially at risk are little girls and women of all ages. When every Tom, Dick, and Harry is free to enter any women’s restroom at will, then I would say that every female’s right to privacy has been grossly violated. But try telling that to the PC crowd.

In any event, to get back to my main point here: If he does nothing else, Trump’s curt dismissal of the importance of being PC has elevated him to the status of a champion of “we the people” in my book. If the DC Republican elites consider Trump’s “America First” attitude to be an un-politically correct stance, to be un-conservative, then they can keep their brand of “conservatism”—I’ll stick with Trump.

The bottom line is this: The Big Government elites of both political parties, in collusion with Big Banking, Big Business, and Big Media, are tirelessly and blatantly promoting the destruction of Western civilization, nation states (countries), and freedom. That is a globalist social engineering ploy that is destined to end very badly indeed. From “The Terror” of the French Revolution (La Terreur) to the “Killing Fields” of Cambodia, history is littered with the ruins of leftist utopias turned into hells on earth. This is no time for half measures—along with Trump I say “Damn the PCness, full speed ahead!”

  1. You have a Christian Presidential candidate in Tom Hoefling - is the US media writing anything about him? Have you heard anything about him? Everything seems to be about Trump, yet I can’t help thinking the guy is a huge risk for the US. Of course Hillary is much worse!

    • Sorry to strongly disagree with you, but Trump needs to win. Apparently you haven’t done your research on Hoefling…he was tied to globalist Alan Keyes and if you don’t know about him, here it is:

Alan Keyes - CNP Membership Directory (1996, 1998, 1999). Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Alan Keyes was William Kristol’s (Bilderberger) roommate at Harvard, whose father, Irving Kristol, joined the Young People’s Socialist League in the 30s. In 1953 Irving Kristol founded the magazine “Encounter” in England that was secretly being supported by the CIA. It, for example, ran puff pieces for Fabian Socialist and Bilderberger Huge Gaitskell, head of the Labor Party. In 1965, together with Daniel Bell, Kristol founded the “Public Interest. This was a publication of “Freedom House.” Bell belonged to the Young Socialist League and the League for Industrial Democracy which had been named the Intercollegiate Socialist Society. Like Kristol, Bell was subsidized by the CIA through an organization called the Congress for Cultural Freedom of which Bell was a leader. Irving Kristol’s partner Daniel Bell has suggested that we do away with state boundaries and most local government. That is not surprising since he was a member of the Institute for American Democracy, an offshoot of the ADL. Daniel Bell is a CFR member.
For ten years Bell had worked for Brotherhood of Death member (Skull and Bones & CFR) Henry C. Luce at one of his magazines, Fortune. In 1969, Irving Kristol was made the Henry R. Luce professor at New York University. George Field ran the Freedom House which published Kristol and Bell’s, The Public Interest. Field was chairman of the Rand School for Social Science which was owned by the American Socialist Society. It was financed by the Garland Fund which keep many Communist projects going. Freedom House’s Bookshelf Program was run by Rex Stout who previously published New Masses, a Communist Weekly. Nelson Rockefeller directly gave Irving Kristol $100,000 through his Commission on Critical Choices for just 15 short essays. Irving’s son, William Kristol did make it big time, he is a member of the Bilderberger group. William Kristol is being promoted by Newsweek as one of the top three strategists of the GOP. He launched a weekly magazine called the Standard and is backed financially by Ruppert Murdock. Kristol is assembling the next generation of socialists on behalf of the NWO. The Kristol’s have plotted for two decades under the disarming word, “neoconservative.”
William Kristol ran Alan Keyes’ 1988 Senate Campaign in Maryland. Keyes was part of Reagan’s National Security Team! Reagan’s National Security was made up of CFR George P. Schultz, CFR/T Henry Kissinger, CFR William Case, CFR/T Casper Weinberger, and CFR Gen. David Jones with David Rockefeller (Chairman of CFR/T) being an unofficial advisor. Keyes was promoted by Jeanne Kirkpatrick. Jeanne Kirkpatrick is a member of the Trilateral Commission and the CFR. In fact, as recently as the 80s, Kirkpatrick was still on the letterhead of the League for Industrial Democracy. She believes in abortion, East-West trade, business with China and that the Monroe Doctrine is no longer valid. Her American Enterprise Institute is supported by NY Banks and big Oil, CFR and CIA assets. Her husband for many years… Evron, was with the OSS, State Dept and was Director of the Office of Intelligence Research. His specialty was behavioral science. He since 1954, had been the executive director of the American Political Science Assoc. Hubert Humphrey was the direct product of Evron Kirkpatrick. The Kirkpatricks have fashioned candidates scientifically. Keyes is the product of his handlers (those with global fish to fry).
Saying all the right things to sop up and drain support of gullible traditionalists. Keyes was president of Citizens Against Waste founded by J. Peter Grace, CFR. J. P. Grace is no more conservative than McGeorge Bundy, Henry Kissinger, or W. Averell Harriman. See Esquire Sept. issue 1977, The Latest Secrets of Skull and Bones by Ron Rosenbaum. William Grace is J. Peter Grace’s father and was the signer of incorporation papers of the CFR in NY City the 25th of July, 1921. Also signing on that document was Paul Warburg, who was a key personality in the founding of the Federal Reserve in 1913. The W.R. of W.R. Grace stands for William Russell, William Russell was a co-founder of the Brotherhood of Death. It is considered by some students of history that J. Peter Grace has been born into the American Illuminati. Also see Soviet expert Dr. Antony C. Sutton’s book, America’s Secret Establishment on page 5. [Kelleigh Nelson]

“William Kristol is editor of the Washington-based political magazine, The Weekly Standard. Widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading political analysts and commentators, Mr. Kristol regularly appears on Fox News Sunday and on the Fox News Channel. Before starting The Weekly Standard in 1995, Mr. Kristol led the Project for the Republican Future, where he helped shape the strategy that produced the 1994 Republican congressional victory. Prior to that, Mr. Kristol served as chief of staff to Vice President Dan Quayle during the Bush administration and to Secretary of Education William Bennett under President Reagan. Before coming to Washington in 1985, Mr. Kristol taught politics at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Mr. Kristol recently co-authored The New York Times bestseller The War Over Iraq: America’s Mission and Saddam’s Tyranny.”

And this bio from THE THEODORE H. WHITE LECTURE WITH WILLIAM KRISTOL, Joan Shorenstein Center, Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, 2004 < http://shorensteincenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/th_white_2004_kristol.pdf >

WILLIAM KRISTOL, a scholar turned media figure, was once described by The Washington Post reporter, Howard Kurtz, as “part of Washington’s circulatory system . . . [a] half-pol, half-pundit, full-throated advocate with a nice-guy image.” Born in 1953 to Irving Kristol and Gertrude Himmelfarb, Kristol was raised in Manhattan. After volunteering for Hubert Humphrey in 1968, he went on to help lead the Harvard-Radcliffe Students for Scoop Jackson while studying at Harvard College. However, by 1976 he had left the Democratic Party for the right, eventually managing the failed campaign of Republican Alan Keyes—his former Harvard roommate—for the Maryland State Senate.

After receiving his A.B. in government (1973) and Ph.D. (1979) from Harvard, Kristol began teaching at the University of Pennsylvania and, from 1983 to 1985, at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He left Harvard in 1985 when he was hired to work in the Department of Education, quickly becoming the chief of staff for U.S. Secretary of Education, William Bennett, during the Reagan administration. A few years later, with the election of President George H.W. Bush, Kristol was selected as Vice President Dan Quayle’s chief of staff—a position for which The New Republic named him “Dan Quayle’s Brain.” After appearing on “Crossfire” during the 1992 presidential election campaign, he began appearing frequently on ABC’s “This Week” and “Good Morning America.” Currently, Kristol serves as a regular commentator on Fox News Sunday and on the Fox News Channel.Kristol led the Project for the Republican Future and helped shape the strategy that produced the 1994 Republican Congressional victory. In 1995 he launched The Weekly Standard, a Washington-based political magazine, for which he serves as editor. He is also chairman and co-founder of the Project for the New American Century.

Beyond his work at The Weekly Standard, Kristol has published several articles and essays on such topics as constitutional law, public policy, and political philosophy. He has been the co-editor of numerous books, including: The Neoconservative Imagination (with Christopher DeMuth, 1995), Educating the Prince: Essays in Honor of Harvey Mansfield (with Mark Blitz, 1995), Present Dangers (with Robert Kagan, 2000), Bush v. Gore: The Court Cases and the Commentary (with E.J. Dionne, Jr. 2001), and The Future Is Now: America Confronts the New Genetics (with Eric Cohen, 2002). In addition, his recent book, The War Over Iraq: America’s Mission and Saddam’s Tyranny, written with Lawrence Kaplan, was a New York Times bestseller.

Kristol serves on the board of directors for Sanford C. Bernstein Co., the John M. Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs, the Manhattan Institute, and the Shalem Foundation. From 1996 until 2001, he served on the Visiting Committee of the John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Kristol resides in McLean, Virginia, with his wife, Susan, and their three children.

    • Thanks for the information - I know almost nothing about Hoefling - I heard him interviewed on Hagmann and Hagmann’s radio show for about an hour - but that’s it. I’ve heard nothing more about him in the media (but I’m in th UK, so I probably wouldn’t).

It concerns me if the US can’t find a really true Christian candidate. I hope and pray that Trump is everything you hope he’ll be.

  2. Trump has more Christian charity in his little finger than any of the other candidates or politicians.
