Healing Wounded Warrior Project

By Jim O’Neill

In a period of little more than two days in January 2016, the outlook and public impression of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), one of the nation’s most venerable charities, was transformed from substantially positive to substantially negative. During those two days – January 26 and 27, 2016 – CBS News and The New York Times aired and published reports that heavily criticized the way WWP conducted itself.  …CBS News and The New York Times did the public no favors with [their] inadequate and unnecessarily damaging journalism.

Doug White “The First Casualty: A Report Addressing the Allegations Made Against the Wounded Warrior Project

“Great Job, Poor Optics” would be a good descriptive title for an article on the fall from grace of the veteran’s charity “Wounded Warrior Project” (WWP).  By which I mean that WWP as run by its former Chief Executive Officer Steve Nardizzi and Chief Operations Officer Al Giordano, was wonderfully successful at helping many vets, but Nardizzi’s management style, while undeniably successful, left WWP open to charges of playing fast and loose with donor’s money.

As charity specialist Doug White puts it: “While Nardizzi led WWP as a modern, national charity, he overlooked a crucial, if cosmetic, aspect of any modern-day organization: how things look have a bearing on how things are.”

Which is to say that it behooves a charity organization to look like a charity organization, and not a glamorous and financially flush NGO.  The thing is, under Nardizzi and Giordano’s leadership WWP was flush with funds, and if it was not a glamorous NGO, it was certainly one of the country’s most recognizable and successful charity brands.  And then came tag-team exposes by the “The New York Times” and “CBS News” in early 2016.

As a result of the two exposes WWP’s board at the time put out a report denying any wrongdoing on the part of WWP – and then cut their own throat by firing Nardizzi and Giordano (if WWP was innocent of any wrongdoing why fire their CEO and COO?).  If was after the firing of Nardizzi and Giordano that the real damage to WWP occurred, and contributions plummeted.

Firing Nardizzi and Giordano was a huge mistake IMO.  By all accounts they did an excellent job of running WWP, and the charity is still suffering from their loss.  As White puts it: “The tenor of the post-allegation and post-firing news reports smack of how things under Nardizzi and Giordano went terribly wrong, how it’s time to clean things up and become more efficient, and how to make WWP the charity it is supposed to be.”  White continues:

A nice narrative if you can get away with it. The problem is that it’s untrue and, worse, cowardly. …The problem wasn’t the senior management…but the stature of two venerable news organizations that developed reports that were essentially incorrect and based on biased and incomplete perspectives of former WWP employees, many of whom had been fired, who took it upon themselves to blow a whistle that, in the end, was far more the screech of uninformed whining than a signal of any merit.

I will be the first to say that I am no expert on running charities, but Doug White is.  In White’s opinion “it’s difficult to deconstruct things to put order to the reason, to explain why one of America’s most venerated and well-run charities, along with the authors of its success, have been so vilified without reason.”  If you really want to get into the meat of the injustice done to Nardizzi, Giordano, and WWP as a whole then you can do no better than reading White’s report “Addressing the Allegations Made Against the Wounded Warrior Project

[White] is the former director of Columbia University’s Master of Science in Fundraising Management program, where, in addition to his extensive management responsibilities, he taught board governance, ethics and fundraising. He is also the former academic director of New York University’s Heyman Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising. He has also been an advisor to BoardSource, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to “building exceptional nonprofit boards and inspiring board service.”

My purpose in writing this article is twofold: Most importantly I wish to help dissolve the injurious fog of doubt and skepticism that has surrounded WWP since it came under fire in 2016.  It is, and always has been, an admirable organization dedicated to helping America’s wounded heroes.  Also, I would like to help undo some of the unjustified damage done to the reputations of Steve Nardizzi and Al Giordano.

Let me close with a helpful hint to “The New York Times” and “CBS News.”  If they wish to investigate some real, honest-to-goodness bona fide criminal charity activity then let me suggest looking into the “Clinton Foundation.”  No need to thank me, it’s what I do. 🙂

Overall, I consider the Clinton Foundation to be a charity fraud network. I base this conclusion on my review of extensive data about its operations including the activities of the Clinton family and their friends in Haiti, a nation that has suffered many disasters, both natural and man-made.

What possesses powerful, wealthy, and educated persons to prey on the most desperately poor humans on earth as they posture as “philanthropists”?  And why has there been no government oversight?

Behind the Pageantry of The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier

by Rev. Austin Miles

The nation took this past weekend to remember all the young men and women in military service who died serving our country. I have conducted many Memorial Day services over the years and still feel the impact every time I do.

And I shed some quiet  tears each time. I am an army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. My company was exposed to Mustard Gas.

That is a horrible experience. It is like a blow torch scalding through every gut in your body.  Two young soldiers died right next to me. The rest of the company died within a short time of their discharge. I was the only one in my company who survived. And I’ve fought severe health problems ever since.

On Jeopardy the other night, in view of Memorial Day, the final question was, How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the Tomb of the Unknowns? —— All three of the contestants missed it —

The continual ceremony of The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C. should be seen by everyone.  It is an awesome sight of rightful respect shown to our service men and women.
Not everyone knows these facts that the Jeopardy contestants could not answer. So here they are:

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

  1. How many steps does the guard take during his
walk across the tomb of the Unknowns and why?

Twenty one steps. It alludes to the twenty-one gun salute, which is the
highest honor given any military or foreign dignitary.

  1. How long does he hesitate after his about face to begin
    his return walk and why?

Twenty one seconds for the same reason as answer number one

  1. Why are his gloves wet?

His gloves are moistened to prevent his losing his grip on the rifle.

4. Does he carry his rifle on the same shoulder all the time and if not, why not?

He carries the rifle on the shoulder away from the tomb.
After his march across the path, he executes an about face
and moves the rifle to the outside shoulder.

  1. How often are the guards changed?

Guards are changed every thirty minutes, twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.

  1. What are the physical traits of the guard limited to?

For a person to apply for guard duty at the tomb, he must be between 5′ 10′ and 6′ 2′ tall and his waist size cannot exceed 30.’ Other requirements of the Guard:
They must commit 2 years of life to guard the tomb, live in a barracks under the tomb, and cannot drink any alcohol on or off duty for the rest of their lives.

They cannot swear in public for the rest of their lives and cannot disgrace the uniform {fighting} or the tomb in any way. After two years, the guard is given a wreath pin that is worn on their lapel signifying they served as guard of the tomb. There are only 400 presently worn.

The guard must obey these rules for the rest of their lives or give up the wreath pin.

The shoes are specially made with very thick soles to keep the heat and cold from their feet. There are metal heel plates that extend to the top of the shoe in order to make the loud click as they come to a halt.

There are no wrinkles, folds or lint on the uniform.

Guards dress for duty in front of a full-length mirror.

The first six months of duty a guard cannot talk to anyone, nor watch TV.

All off duty time is spent studying the 175 notable people laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery. A guard must memorize who they are and where they are interred.

Among the notables are: President Taft, Joe E. Lewis {the boxer} and Medal of Honor winner Audie Murphy, {the most decorated soldier of WWII} of Hollywood fame.

Every guard spends five hours a day getting his uniforms ready for guard duty.

In 2003 as Hurricane Isabelle was approaching Washington, DC , our US Senate/House took 2 days off with anticipation of the storm. On the ABC evening news, it was reported that because of the dangers from the hurricane, the military members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were given permission to suspend the assignment.

They respectfully declined the offer, ‘No way, Sir!’  While soaked to the skin, marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they said that guarding the Tomb was not just an assignment, it was the highest honor that can be afforded to a service person.

The tomb has been patrolled continuously, 24/7, since 1930.

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O’ LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

God Bless and Keep Them

We can be very proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve.

NFL Clueless Crybaby Losers

By Jim O’Neill

I am going to attempt to write this article without using any cuss words, but whenever I think of the NFL’s clueless crybaby a–holes I…nope, not going to be able to do it.

My apologies in advance to anyone who may be offended.  If you are offended by profanity then I suggest you stop reading right now.

Hint to the NFL and their crybaby players: Without the United States of America there would be no f—king NFL you clueless Cretans.  The only reason you pathetic, ungrateful, arrogant twits get to play your GAME and earn outrageous sums of money (ludicrously out of proportion to what you contribute to society) is because America exists in the first place.

The unmitigated gall of the NFL and its crybaby players refusing to honor America is breathtaking in its arrogant ignorance, warped sense of unearned entitlement, and dismissive disdain for the United States of America, the most spiritually elevated and free country this world has ever known.

Another hint: The NFL and its crybaby loser players are being played like a violin by the puppet-masters behind the globalist agenda.  The NFL and its kneeling/no-show players are nothing but useful tools/fools being played.  In their ignorance, these tools/fools think that they being oh so clever and “resisting.”  In truth, they are being played by the grievance-mongers like a Stradivarius.  They are nothing but unpatriotic boneheaded idiots…arrogant unpatriotic boneheaded idiots.

Don’t even think about giving me some c—p about how the crybaby players are simply expressing their 1st Amendment rights.  If they can’t respect our flag, the symbol of this great country, then they should get the f—k out, MOVE.  Go to Cuba or North Korea and try out your whining and moaning in those countries.  Let me know how it goes dips—ts.  No, don’t bother, I already know how it will go.  The problem is you don’t.  You have no idea how good you have it in America you clueless, ungrateful schmucks.

I suppose their attitude is understandable, perhaps, even inevitable, given the state of America’s mis-education system (more of an anti-American indoctrination system actually).  America is more often than not portrayed as the “bad guy” – always and in all ways.

This unremittingly negative portrayal of America is bound to have a deadening, dampening effect on the patriotism of the students who undergo such indoctrination.  When you look at America through c—p colored glasses it is bound to look s—ty.

The answer is not to look at America through rose-tinted glasses, but to see America through clear lenses.  That is the only way to achieve a balanced view of things – to balance America’s faults, past and present, against its virtues, past and present – and America’s virtues, history of success, compassion, and innovation are second to none.

But the NFL (and some other major sports) do not look at the United States through a clear lens.  They look at it through the c—p colored lens (negative, dismissive attitude).  Add agit-prop grievance-mongers egging on NFL players who have little sense of gratitude and a bloated sense of entitlement, and you have a recipe for the unpatriotic anti-American c—p We the People have had to put up with.

Personally, I have tuned out the NFL and its overpaid crybaby ingrates.

Addendum:  Not all NFL players are whiny crybaby losers, thank God, and I salute the patriotism of those players who stand for America.  I would like to make special mention of Pittsburgh Steeler Alejandro Villanueva, #78.

While the rest of his teammates cowered in the locker-room when the national anthem was played on Sunday, Villanueva, who served as a US Army Ranger in Afghanistan (three tours I believe), stood tall and proud, and alone.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A small Minnesota town is getting a lot of attention for a Satanic monument coming to their veterans park.

The monument going up for The Satanic Temple — which features an upturned helmet atop a black cube — will soon be at the site of the Veterans Memorial Park in Belle Plaine.

It is being built by a group of Satanists out of Massachusetts, and it will be the first Satanic monument on public property in United States history.

The city is allowing the monument to be built after a religious freedom group threatened to sue over another statue, which features a soldier praying over a grave marked with a cross.City officials say the memorial, which is not inside the park yet, is finished, but they are still working out a date for when it will go in.

It has to be put in a small area called “The Free Speech Zone.” It is an area designated to 10 or fewer memorials, as long as they honor veterans.

“They said they were putting it up and I did not like it,” said resident Donna Karnitz.

City Councilmember Cary Coop says he voted against the designated free speech area.

“I don’t think there’s too many Satanists around here, but it’s free speech,” Coop said.

He says they anticipated other groups coming in.

“We were warned against creating this free speech zone, and it will be probably be just as well that we didn’t have one, that people could use private property to say whatever they want,” Coop said.

Karnitz, whose husband is a veteran of the Vietnam War, says she finds the new Satanic monument offensive.

“It was approved a while back already, and it has not come here,” she said. “I am hoping and praying that it doesn’t come into the park here [laughs]!”

Karnitz is not alone. There is a protest planned at the park on Saturday during the city’s popular BBQ Days festival.

Despite its name, the Satanic Temple says it does not promote a belief in a personal Satan and that that “religion can, and should, be divorced from superstition.”

Homeless Vets SOLUTION!-Plus Much More

by Rev. Austin Miles

WASHINGTON 6/20/16—There is plenty of federally funded money to get all homeless veterans off the streets at this very moment. Here is only one area where money can be found in the coffers of the U.S. Government. There are many more.

Homeless Veteran

This is what they are spending now, with OUR (taxpayers) money:  $13 million for ‘exploring musical preferences of monkeys!’ Another $1.1 million ‘judging whether cheerleaders are more attractive as a squad than individually.’  This expenditure, of course, is very much needed: $5 million to learn whether drunken birds slur when they sing. That, of course is of utmost importance to our survival as a nation. And another $390,000 to determine how many shakes a wet dog needs to feel dry

Plus seven BILLION in aid to countries that hate us, while we have homeless people on the streets that have NO aid. Meanwhile, WHAT ABOUT HOMELESS VETERANS WHO NEED HOUSING?

WHAT ABOUT AMERICAN FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN who do not have food money? Yes we have way too many hungry AMERICAN CITIZENS. How about smart young people who want to go to college and university who have no funds to do so.

These are genuine Americans who need assistance in order to become academically able to have professional careers that will benefit us all.  At least they should be able to provide interest free loans to those who are both qualified and able to benefit from a college/university education.

Obama is not insane. He knows exactly what he is doing in purposely giving money to strengthen those countries who are dedicated to wiping us off the map and putting what is left of America under Communist and Islamic rule.

And yet, the cowardly Republicans allow him to stay in the Oval Office when they could easily have the Sergeant at Arms escort him out of that office and charge him with TREASON. Yet, they do nothing.

While John F. Kennedy put a man on the moon, Obama has put a man in a woman’s bathroom. He has intentionally worked to blur the distinction of the sexes. Yesterday, Portland Judge Amy Holmes Hehn ruled that no longer will birth certificates list the gender of the baby…since that is hatred doncha know, They are now to be considered of ‘binary sex,” which the gays say, documents who they are. How’s that again??

National Radio Host Bob Boyd, of Issues in Education, pointed out that right after the Orlando Shootings, Obama tried to make it clear that the shooter does NOT represent all Muslims. If that’s the case, then why does that shooter represent all gun owners?  Good point to ponder.

Mr. Boyd also reasoned that if it is now the law that EVERYONE MUST perform ‘gay marriages,’ then when will they begin having those ‘weddings’ performed in a Mosque?  Great question.

In San Jose, a men’s restroom in Columbus Park is THE hook-up place for sodomites. Not necessarily with other deviants, but coming on to anyone who enters.  Still cannot understand how they are so sexually turned on by stinky public toilets. And they say, “we’re just like you.”  Really!

These goings on stimulated complaints since the park definitely is now not a safe place for children, or even adults. So the police dept. set up a sting operation using decoys. Arrests were made.

HOWEVER: The Obama Administration’s Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Jose S. Franco, according to the East County Times, concluded that “Sting operations at the park constituted selective discriminatory enforcement in violation of the suspect’s equal protection rights.”

This, of course, is profiling and “selective enforcement.”  We can’t have that y’know! Forget having cops patrol the streets. Instead, let’s have men in white coats. That would make more sense.

And finally, all are familiar with the Stanford University star swimmer, Brock Turner, who raped an incapacitated young woman. The Obama Administration Judge, Aaron Persky, simply slapped the rapist on the wrists and sentenced him to six months in county jail, which will only be three months.

The left-wing newspapers soften their accounts (after all, the defendant IS a Stanford swimming star) to say that he “sexually assaulted,” the young woman while she was incapacitated. JOURNALISTS-let’s tell it accurately.  While the young woman was incapacitated, Brock Turner RAPED her.  Meanwhile, the victim is now at fault since she was intoxicated.  AGAIN NEWS WRITERS: SHE WAS RAPED, NOT SEXUALLY ASSAULTED! Get it right for corn’s sake!

Oh yes, Judge Aaron Persky stated that a reason for the light (no) sentence for the serious crime of rape was due to the fact that he had no previous criminal record.  This would mean that anyone who has not had a criminal conviction is allowed to rape a girl once, meaning that all law abiding citizens have a rape coming. Are you kidding?  This is absurd!

Then today, someone came to kill Donald Trump at a rally, a kid with a gun. Trump is a serious threat to both Democrats and Republicans who are firmly settled in the status quo. Trump will turn all that around and that they do not want. If the Republican Party sabotages his nomination, Trump still has more than enough votes to put him in office. And these voters are American citizens who have had enough of government deception. They far outweigh those giving out false news stories that he cannot rally enough votes for that office.  Oh yes he can. He has already accomplished that.

The rise of militias: Patriot candidates are now getting elected in Oregon

Like Trump, the Patriot Movement’s surge is due partly to fear and the perceived indifference of political leaders to places that didn’t recover from the 2008 crash

Oregon militia standoff
Duane Ehmer rides his horse Hellboy at the Malheur national refuge on the sixth day of the occupation.

Joseph Rice’s manner is a long way from militia stereotypes. The Patriot Movement leader does not present as a crazed gun nut, nor as a blowhard white supremacist. He’s genial, folksy, and matter-of-fact in laying out his views. But talk to him for long enough, and time and again the Patriot Movement leader returns to what really drives him: land.

Rice is running for Josephine county commissioner in south-west Oregon, and believes that the federal government’s current role in land management is illegitimate and even tyrannical.

His campaign is well-advertised around the county and appears well-organised. His growing experience in organising Patriot groups and community watch organisations has polished his skills in retail politics. He’s clearly done a lot of work to make himself politically palatable to conservative rural voters.

He has positions on education (kids should finish high school), legalised marijuana (it presents an economic opportunity) and Donald Trump (“people are tired of career politicians, and they know the country’s in trouble”).

But county supremacy is what really drives him.

Joseph Rice, who advocates for community members who would take policing into their own hands.

It’s this notion that is once again becoming central to local politics in the Pacific north-west. Throughout the region, people whose ideas about land management broadly align with Rice and the now infamous Bundy clan are aiming for elected office in cities, counties and even the state houses.

Taking notice of the trend, progressive watchdog group Political Research Associates even pointed to “a wave of Patriot-affiliated candidates in Oregon”.

Rice talks proudly of his connection with the Oath Keepers – a group which recruits from serving and retired law enforcement officers and military personnel. The group asserts that the oath taken by soldier and police “is to the constitution, not to the politicians”, such that serving personnel are obliged to disobey unconstitutional orders.

He’s also proud of his role in founding the Pacific Patriots network, which aims to coordinate members of various patriot groups in the Pacific north-west.

Both groups, and Rice himself, were prominent actors in the standoff at the Malheur national wildlife refuge last January. On Rice’s account, “we acted as a buffer between the federal government and the refuge”.

In practice, this meant that they were a constant presence in and around Burns, Oregon, as the occupation unfolded. Their actions included everything from warning law enforcement officers against attempting a forceful resolution of the situation to forming an armed perimeter around the refuge.

Click – Watch >>The Guardian spoke to the Oath Keepers in Ferguson last year: ‘The police have become tyrannical’

—————————————————

While the Malheur occupiers are mostly in custody awaiting trial, the ideals that fuelled their protest are still very much at large.

Gradually, these ideas are taking hold in local Republican parties. While the nation has been transfixed by the Trump tilt in presidential politics, at the grassroots level in Oregon, candidates who have sympathies and connections with the Patriot movement have already successfully sought office under the GOP banner.

Josephine County local elections are non-partisan, but Rice is clearly well-integrated with the GOP there, meeting reporters in their offices and running as a precinct committee person in the primary.

David Niewert, an author and journalist who has spent decades watching the right, says that as recently as 10 years ago, Rice’s message would have been unpalatable to most GOP voters. But the Tea Party movement established a conduit for more radical ideas “to flow right into the mainstream of the Republican party”.

GOP legislators have been floating these ideas in the Oregon state house. In Oregon Congressional District 3, Carl Wilson is seeking re-election. After an initial stint in the state house between 1998 and 2003, he successfully ran again in 2014. He has wasted no time in pushing an agenda that borrows, like the Bundys, from the so-called “land use movement”. Wilson also lent his support to the Sugar Pine Mine occupation, which was a dress rehearsal for Malheur.

Wilson – who did not respond to interview requests from the Guardian – proposed Oregon Bill HB3240, which sought to set up a taskforce to investigate the transfer of federal lands in Oregon to state ownership.

The bill went nowhere in the Democrat-dominated state house, but Wilson’s stance has drawn a large number of donations. Notably, according to Oregon electoral filings, last year Koch Industries donated $2,500 to his campaign committee.

This kind of support in a sleepy Oregon district only makes sense when it is seen as a part of the right’s bottom-up strategy to push and legitimate the view that federal land management needs to be rolled back.

Those ideas get a hearing in Oregon’s rural counties because communities there are squeezed in a social and economic vice. In the last three decades, counties like Josephine have been hit with a series of shocks.

First, the timber industry declined, though only partly because of changes in federal land management practices. This led to diminished prosperity and a collapse in funding for public services. Federal timber payments declined 90% over the course of the 1990s. Later, the 2008 bust and recession hit rural Oregon hard, and many areas have yet to recover.

Armed groups take US border patrol into their own hands

NOGALES, AZ. (WNCN) — Spanning nearly 2,000 miles the border between the United States and Mexico is made up of a variety of terrain, from major urban areas to isolated towns and uninhabitable desserts.

Federal border patrol agents are responsible for ensuring the security of the border in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. But even with protection, the border has become a gateway for drug trafficking and illegal immigration.

More than 11 million illegal immigrants currently live in United States, a drop of about 1 million according to the Pew Research Center.

Every year, more than a million pounds of illegal drugs pass over the U.S. border from Mexico. Arizona is one of the busiest sectors for marijuana seizures, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. And now more than ever, groups of men and women from all over the country — including here in North Carolina — are taking it upon themselves to watch over the border.

Border Keepers

In a small camp near Nogales, Arizona a group of men and women set patrol plans for each day.   border keep 2

“We have no extra rights being down here than any other citizen that comes down,” a group leader announced to the camp. “That means you do not have any special arrest powers, you do not have any ability to go out and start detaining people, tying people up, handcuffing people, chasing people and tackling them down for border patrol. You have none of those, ‘privileges’ let’s say,” the man announced.

The groups are well-numbered, well-organized and well-armed. But unlike Federal Border Patrol agents, these groups have absolutely no authority.

“If you come across folks the best thing to do is keep eyes on them. If it’s a close encounter you can tell them to stop. Funny thing is most of them will,” the leader announced.

It’s a trip sponsored by groups like the 3% United Patriots and OathKeepers, who rally support and funding online.

“Doc” from North Carolina

border keep 3One man, who they call “Doc” is from right here in North Carolina. He decided to take a vacation and drive more than 2,200 miles to take part in a border patrol operation.

“Our government doesn’t have a handle on what’s coming through our borders,” he said.

Once out on an operation the groups have to be prepared for hot days as they patrol miles of dessert looking for vulnerable spots along the border.

“They come through and they cut the barbed wire and it takes literally just a few seconds to get on the other side, on our side of the border with packs and mules and things like that. It’s basically not even a deterrent, it only holds them up for a few seconds,” explained a man they call “Geezer.”

During this operation in Arizona, the non-government sanctioned group didn’t stop any people from crossing illegally but they did find marijuana that was dumped near the border in the U.S. They contacted Border Patrol to pick it up. “We’re not on an assault force, we’re not here to arrest anybody, we’re here to observe and report,” Doc said.

The Pew Hispanic Center estimates that North Carolina has about 325,000 “unauthorized” immigrants, giving the state the ninth-highest illegal immigrant population in the U.S. border keep 4

“My forefathers came nine generations ago from Germany and settled into North Carolina. So I mean we were all immigrants at one time. We just want it done legally,” Doc said.

But not everyone believes in their motives.

Vigilante ‘Hate Groups’

Kate Woomer-Deters is an attorney with the NC Justice Center and says, “That’s the federal government and the state government’s responsibility to enforce those laws. From the little I understand from this particular group they are considered to be a hate group,” she said.

border keep 5“It’s not about race, it’s not about racism. We have a problem in our country and we don’t know what’s coming in our borders,” Doc said.

One group member is on camera using a racial term while patrolling at night.

Federal border patrol agents do stop by the camps to check on the non-government organizations but often times they are isolated miles from anyone.

Doc says their guns are for protection against cartels. “I carry a weapon because down here there are bad people, unscrupulous people that do bad things to good people and I carry that for self-protection,” he explained.

The men and women who make up the non-government organizations are from all across the country and motivated by many different reasons.

“I’ve always hated illicit drugs, I mean it’s something; I’ve lost friends and family to drugs. It’s a problem in our country and these guys are jumping the fence bringing drugs,” Doc said.

Woomer-Deters argues that it is not that simple, “What we think is called for at the border is a humane process for immigrants who come across, often times fleeing terrible tragedy and violence in central America, are offered due process, a chance to see a judge,” she argued.  border keep 6

Doc says he and other like him are just filling a gap left by the actual Border Patrol, acting as an extra set of eyes protecting the frontline, “They’ll probably find somewhere else to come over but we’ve got this area taken care of,” Doc said.

The 3% United Patriots are on the list of 20 groups in North Carolina who the Southern Poverty Law Center consider anti-government.

Clarno, a lifelong Democrat and social worker at Hines VA hospital in Hines, Illinois was referring to Florida Congressman Jeff Miller, the Republican leader of the House Veterans Administration subcommittee.

She was the president of the hospital’s union of doctors during a clearly avoidable, deadly wait-time scandal that took the lives of innocent sick veterans.

Over the span of this scandal dozens of veterans died needlessly due to inordinate waiting times at multiple VA hospitals around the country. This cruel abuse of patients led to the death of some 40 veterans in a Phoenix facility which came to light in 2013.

At Clarno’s hospital in Hines, the House investigation found other substantial, potentially deadly problems such as heart scans being thrown away without having even been reviewed.

When Clarno recognized she was going to be grilled by the Miller Committee, she went to a Democrat whom she knew could/would not do anything about the criminal neglect she and her co-workers were guilty of. This was to clear her conscience without actually giving political ammunition to Republicans, something she considered worse than letting innocent veterans die.

Clarno displayed the true colors of a typical Democrat when she tried to weasel out of her guilt by implying that she would have gone to a Republican (who would have done something) had it not been for the “frosty” relationship between Democrat union officials and Republicans.

She commented, “It was really upsetting. This isn’t about, you know, whether you have a D or an R at the end of your name. This is about the VA, this is about protecting the men and women who fought for our country.”

“I am a scorpion and I do what scorpions do,” comes to mind.
