A 'children Book' to Celebrate Abortion

The sacraments of modern secular humanism are abortion, same-sex pseudomarriage, and coercion. The second two are intimately linked: they can’t make the parody of marriage stick unless they can force people who don’t believe in it to “celebrate” it and take part in it—by baking and decorating “wedding” cakes, filming the festivities, or hosting the abomination on their private property.

Outside of Red China, they have not yet gotten around to forcing people to abort their babies. They may be able to do it someday by hitching it up to Global Warming—er, Climate Change—and Overpopulation. Obamacare has tried to force businesses, schools, and individuals to fund abortion, against their consciences, but so far the courts have not upheld that. So for the time being, all they can do is try to convince people that having an abortion, in addition to being absolutely necessary to Save the Planet, makes you a fine, upstanding, praiseworthy citizen of the world.

Which brings us to this week’s culture-poisoning item—a “children’s book” praising and celebrating abortion, “Sister Apple, Sister Pig” by Mary Walling Blackburn, an assistant professor of art at Southern Methodist University an academic and, it seems, a card-carrying moral imbecile.

Where to begin with this idiotic exercise in evil? This is the story of a little child who knows that the baby who would have been his elder sister was slain in the womb by his parents. After a little bit of confusion, the boy comes to realize that this was a very good thing.

The girl, you see, would have been “inconvenient” for the parents—and if there has ever been a child who was not inconvenient, at some time or another, that’s more than I know. Indeed, Blackburn has the little boy say to his parents, “I’m not sad that my sister is a ghost! If you kept my sister, you would be tired, and sad, and mad!”

See? Everything is hunky-dory. The aborted little girl, the parents have explained, is now “a happy ghost.” Ta-dah! Problem solved. The surviving child can even make used of his slaughtered sister as an imaginary friend. And no one is in the least bit inconvenienced.

I don’t know about you, but if I were that little boy, I would be dreadfully afraid of what my folks might do if I ever made them tired, sad, or mad, or became in any way an inconvenience.

One need not read very deeply into the Bible to learn that the Living God cares for the defenseless and the powerless, and will avenge them on those who take advantage of them. Thomas Jefferson said, “I tremble for my country, when I reflect that God is just.” If Americans sat down and thought about it, there would be a lot of trembling going on today.

Have we no reverence? Have we no fear? The stink of our sins, the reek of some 50 million abortions, rises up to Heaven. We ought to be repenting on our knees.

Instead, we send our young people to church-affiliated colleges and universities that hire witless moral wipe-outs who write books aimed at getting children on the bandwagon for abortion. If this is what they’ve got at the church-affiliated schools, I don’t even want to think about who’s teaching at the state universities.

But that’s our mainline, flatline churches for you, nowadays. Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Catholic—when the Son of Man returns, will He find faith on the earth? Only if He looks in the right places for it.

The red flags, the distress flares, are up—all over the places. Our way of life is in mortal danger.

There is more than mere inconvenience awaiting us, if we don’t change our course.

  1. How sad. Teaching children that abortion is OK. What will this little boy think when he becomes of age and realizes just exactly what abortion is? I have heard that lying about Santa Claus has caused some children to distrust their parents. What is this going to do?
Pastor David at Bible study last night talked about true repentance. He stated that the churches no longer have or know what true repentance is! May the Lord come quickly.
