In 2016, Popular Science reported that train systems are vulnerable to cyberattacks

Was the safety signals for the train carrying GOP leaders outside Charlottesville, Va., hacked to ensure the train would crash – or was the incident completely accidental?

Was the Deep State trying to send a message to globalist Republicans to get back in line – to jump off the Trump train – after the president’s unifying message during the State of the Union?

Of course, the train crash might have been a complete accident, but nevertheless here’s some of the weird circumstances surrounding it so far.

The timing and location: The train was carrying GOP leaders, including globalists such as Paul Ryan who had previously tried to block Trump’s agenda.

Interestingly enough, before the crash, columnist Michael Goodwin said the GOP was now “Trump’s party” and that the president was teaching Republicans “how to fight and win.”

“The evidence is everywhere every day, and it was on vivid display [at the State of the Union],” he wrote. “The president remains in a fighting mood, determined to keep punching his way forward.”

And remember, Trump’s agenda is often called the “Trump Train,” and after the State of the Union it appears that more and more Republican lawmakers are jumping on board.

So was the stalled dump truck crash meant to send a warning to lawmakers to block Trump’s agenda?

The crash, of course, happened the morning after Trump’s address – and it happened outside Charlottesville, Virginia, the site of the notorious “Unite the Right” rally which the mainstream media tried to link to the president.

And here’s another interesting factoid, which likely means nothing but it’s interesting nonetheless: the train was a charter train, but it was operating on the Amtrak Cardinal route, which was the successor to the George Washington train that provided passenger service from 1932 to around 1971, when Amtrak took over.

Other circumstances: The train was apparently operating on the CSX’s North Mountain Subdivision track, which was slated in 2006 for a “modern signal system that utilizes electronics, electric code, and radio technology.”

The media is also reporting that the dump truck “may have been stuck on the tracks.”

So how come the train wasn’t warned of the truck blocking the track, assuming the track had an electronic signal system?

And at the time of the crash the train was nearing a residential area. Aren’t there more stringent controls in place for tracks near residential areas?

In 2016, Popular Science reported that train systems were “vulnerable to hacking” after highlighting a study by German cybersecurity researchers who warned that train warning signals could be compromised to cause collisions.

“The flaws were exposed by German whitehat security researchers SCADA Strangelove, who have previously looked at security flaws in green energy systems and smartgrids,” Popular Science reported. “One problem is that some switches require constant access to the internet, and if that signal is lost the trains stop automatically. More embarrassing, for one of the train systems they looked at there were still default passwords associated with admin accounts, leaving access to the system wide open.”

“…While trains can’t be commandeered and stolen like other vehicles, there is still plenty that can go wrong if a malicious attacker takes control, with delays at a minimum and train-on-train collision as the scarier risk.”

‘Whatever skills I have are better utilized in a courtroom than in Congress,’ he says

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) announced his retirement from Congress to move back to a career in the criminal justice system.

Gowdy, a former prosecutor and chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, wrote that he won’t seek re-election when his term ends and will instead pivot back to the justice system.
“There is a time to and a time to go. This is the right time, for me, to leave politics and return to the justice system,” Gowdy tweeted Wednesday.

Gowdy has been a vocal critic of the FBI and the Justice Department in their handling of both the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private server and the Russia investigation.
On Monday, he claimed the upcoming release of the secret FISA memo detailing illegal spying of Trump will embarrass top Democrat Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) after he tried to prevent the American people from viewing it.
“My Democratic colleagues didn’t want us to find this information, they did everything they could to keep us from finding this information,” he said.
“I think it will be embarrassing for Adam Schiff once people realize the extent to which he went to keep them from learning any of this.”

Let me set the scene…

“Have you no decency, sir?”

In those days, there was no Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). So, even if text messages had existed in 1954, Edward R. Murrow wouldn’t have been able to get his hands on McCarthy’s in the way that Judicial Watch obtained those of FBI agent Peter Strzok, the former member of Muller’s team whose communications demonstrated bias against Trump dating back to before the election.

And without those revealing messages it’s unlikely that anyone would have required the FBI to produce 50,000 more texts which it claims were lost due to a “misconfiguration” – an error that just happens to have been rectified on the same day that Muller was appointed as special counsel, likely ending whatever corresponding investigation the Bureau had been conducting itself.
Now, on this auspicious occasion, many wait with baited breath as the looming Nunes memo perhaps overshadows both Trump’s first State of the Union Speech and Joe Kennedy III’s rebuttal to it.
Rumors have swirled that Trump created friction in the upper echelons of the DOJ by trying to fire Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, who may have botched the investigation into Hillary’s private email server after his wife received a campaign donation from a Clinton supporter.
Although McCabe originally stood his ground and it’s reported that his boss, FBI Director Christopher Wray, threatened to resign rather than fire him, McCabe abruptly announced his retirement after news of the Nunes memo and its explosive contents rocked the halls of Washington.
Though the memo has been circulated to every member of the House of Representatives, over 400 people in total so far, it has remained under wraps, unlike in the recent past when confidential information useful to Democrats was widely leaked to liberal-leaning news outlets.
Now, Democrats in the House want Trump to observe a 5-day waiting period before the public gets its first glimpse into what the memo has to say about the secret FISA process which may have been used by the FBI to spy on candidate Donald J. Trump during the campaign.
What will happen in those 5 days?
Is the FBI running around immunizing potential witnesses the way it did during the Clinton email investigation, making it nearly impossible for future investigators to get anywhere?
Will President Trump be hamstrung by rules which his opponents have flouted for over a year?
Will Fox and/or Infowars get the Nunes memo early?
Will Muellergate be next?

This could be a response to an earlier report claiming that at least 24 House Democrats planned to bring illegals to watch the speech from the House Gallery – seats traditionally reserved for military heroes and law-abiding citizens.
“Of all the places where the Rule of Law needs to be enforced, it should be in the hallowed halls of Congress. Any illegal aliens attempting to go through security, under any pretext of invitation or otherwise, should be arrested and deported,” said Congressman Gosar’s Twitter.
Just when the event couldn’t develop any more hype, especially with the potential release of the FISA memo during the speech as well the speech itself being partly crafted by White House advisor Stephen Miller, the potential for an illegal alien bust at the State of the Union could deter Democrats – loyal to foreign nationals – from disrupting it with their political pawns.
Tuesday night is indeed the Super Bowl of politics, poised to be discussed and studied years from now while the NFL’s upcoming “Big Game” may already be doomed to irrelevancy.

The secret FISA memo will likely reveal former President Obama was privy to intel obtained from spying on the Trump campaign, ex-Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino says.

Speaking to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Monday, Bongino claimed the much-anticipated memo, soon to be released pending President Trump’s approval, could implicate many in the previous administration, including President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“It is not a coincidence that Devin Nunes, who has an entire scope of what happened went back in March to the White House facility to read very specific intel that I think will very likely be in this memo,” Bongino told Carlson.
“What am I saying by this? That the information was likely breached to Barack Obama. What does that mean? That means that this information was being used by Hillary and all of this other stuff that was in this dossier and all of this spying was probably being inserted into daily briefs by Barack Obama. Why else would Nunes have to go to the White House to read it?”
“That makes sense,” Carlson responds, “and of course it was the Obama administration that pushed for the surveillance powers over the Trump campaign.”
Bongino had previously claimed the FISA memo’s contents would dismantle Obama’s reputation as a political rockstar.
“Take it to the bank, the FBI/FISA docs are devastating for the Dems. The whole image of a benevolent Barack Obama they’ve disingenuously tried to portray is about to be destroyed. The real Obama, the vengeful narcissist, is going to be exposed for all to see,” Bongino tweeted.
