Bush-Appointed Federal Judge Blocks Obama Water Rule Citing ‘Risk of Irreparable Harm’

BY MORGAN CHALFANT FOR FREEBEACON.COM

A federal judge in North Dakota appointed by George W. Bush blocked an Obama administration rule Thursday that would allow the federal government to regulate certain streams and other small waterways.

The Associated Press reported that U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson issued a temporary injunction requested by 13 states including North Dakota blocking the Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers from regulating small streams, tributaries, and wetlands as directed under the Clean Water Act.

While North Dakota’s attorney general, who filed the request, interpreted the ruling as applying to all 50 states, the EPA insisted that it only stretches to the 13 that sued for the injunction. The rule is set to take effect everywhere else on Friday.

According to Erickson’s ruling, the EPA has exceeded its authority by creating the rule, which requires landowners to obtain a permit if they take actions that would pollute or harm the regulated bodies of water. The agricultural industry has vehemently pushed back on the regulation.

“The risk of irreparable harm to the states is both imminent and likely,” Erickson said when granting the temporary injunction, alleging that the rule would force “jurisdictional studies” of each proposed natural gas, oil, or water pipeline project in North Dakota.

“While the exact amount of land that would be subject to the increase is hotly disputed, the agencies admit to an increase in control over those traditional state-regulated waters of between 2.84 to 4.65 percent,” he wrote in the ruling.

According to officials in North Dakota, the rule would cost the state millions of dollars.

In addition to North Dakota, the other states exempt from the rule are Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

Planned Parenthood Audit Rejected

By Douglas V. Gibbs — Bio and Archives REPOSTED FROM CANADAFREEPRESS.COM

California State Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez, R-Lake Elsinore, requested an audit of Planned Parenthood. Her request was a response to videos by a pro-life organization using undercover style reporting revealing Planned Parenthood officials discussing selling the body parts of aborted babies on the black market. She intended that the audit of California’s Planned Parenthood locations would ensure the organization is not illegally profiting from the donation of aborted baby tissue. Her request was rejected by a State legislative committee on Tuesday, August 25.

Planned Parenthood contends the videos that exposed their alleged dealings in the body-tissue black market were deceptively edited and that the organization only seeks to cover the cost of shipping fetal tissue, which is used in medical research.

U.S. Congressional Republicans, responding to the outrage among pro-life supporters in the wake of the release of these videos, have been working to defund Planned Parenthood. Their efforts would begin the process of defunding Planned Parenthood by first removing any federal funding or federal influence with the “Family Planning” organization.

So far, five states have investigated Planned Parenthood’s handling of fetal tissue and their investigations found that no laws were broken.

Melendez is pro-life and said she’s not asking to defund Planned Parenthood, but to investigate. She said that if a law enforcement agency that confiscates guns was seen on video discussing selling those weapons they had confiscated, there would be no question about the need for an audit. “I am not asking we harm Planned Parenthood. That is not my intent. But what I don’t understand is why someone would oppose looking into the allegations that have been made and assuring the public that that is not going on…[if]nothing is being done illegal, wouldn’t it be great if you could put that to bed?”

Opponents to Melendez’s request were skeptical that any evidence existed of Planned Parenthood’s wrongdoing. Democrat State Senator Richard Roth of Riverside said, “In the absence of evidence, I’m wondering how we justify the audit and the request.”

State Senator Connie Leyva (D-Chino) said while she doesn’t think Melendez was on a witch hunt, it’s important to conduct an audit based on facts. “Women need these services,” Leyva said. “And if we continue to go after Planned Parenthood or any entity that is helping women and we don’t have our ducks in a row … then I think we are doing them and the women they serve a disservice.”

Sanger’s Birth Control Policy included the “racial hygiene theory.”

Assemblyman Brian Jones, a Republican who represents the 71st Assembly District which includes inland San Diego County and a small portion of south Riverside County said enough evidence existed to support an audit.

In the end, the audit failed along party lines, with the only support coming from Republicans, who are drastically outnumbered in California’s State Legislature in Sacramento.

The Declaration of Independence lists three of our rights in its text to emphasize the importance of our “God-given” rights (which would also make them God-defined rights), and the first of those three is “life” (life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness). Abortion, and medical procedures, are not listed in the Constitution as an authority of the federal government, so any and all funding and influence by the federal government is unconstitutional in the first place. Additionally, as “persons,” the unborn are entitled to be treated equally under the law.

As for Planned Parenthood, as indicated in the book Silenced Screams: Abortion in a Virtuous Society, In 1939, the founder of Planned Parenthood, and a proponent for abortion and forced sterilization in the United States for the purpose of exterminating “undesirable” people, Margaret Sanger, proposed that abortion and forced sterilization must be used to support the agenda of those that defended eugenics. The 1939 Negro Project was designed to convince the black population to participate in the program, and for the black population to accept abortion as an important tool for their well-being as a segment of society.

Sanger’s Birth Control Policy included the “racial hygiene theory.” Racial hygiene theory, according to Sanger, would “cleanse” humanity of the “morons,” “human weeds,” and the “feeble-minded” that negatively affected our populations. In 1922, in Sanger’s book, The Pivot of Civilization, she wrote, “Birth Control, which has been criticized as negative and destructive, is really the greatest and most truly eugenic method, and its adoption as part of the program of Eugenics would immediately give a concrete and realistic power to that science… as the most constructive and necessary of the means to racial health.” (Page 189)

Sanger believed “The emergency problem of segregation and sterilization must be faced immediately…”

Sanger also wrote that she believed “The emergency problem of segregation and sterilization must be faced immediately. Every feeble-minded girl or woman of the hereditary type, especially of the moron class, should be segregated during the reproductive period…. we prefer the policy of immediate sterilization, of making sure that parenthood is absolutely prohibited to the feeble-minded.” (Pages 101-102)

For Sanger, the purpose in promoting birth control was “to create a race of thoroughbreds,” as she wrote in the Birth Control Review, November 1921 (p. 2).

The drive for racial purification included the extermination of what she considered to be lesser races, including blacks. “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population,” she said, “if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”

Sanger’s writings and influence led to the passage of segregation laws, sterilization laws, and the Immigration Act of 1924 that included a provision excluding from entry any alien who by virtue of race or nationality was ineligible for citizenship.

Despite Sanger’s efforts, the abortion issue from a legal standpoint remained as it had been—illegal unless the medical community recognized, on a case by case basis, that it was absolutely necessary to save the life of the mother.

Though the issue seemed to be resolved in the United States, underground, a culture of death targeting the innocent lives of unborn children, still existed. A number of illegal abortionists performed the procedure in what today those that advocate for legalized abortion call “back alley abortions.” Europe, however, remained intent upon moving towards making abortion more prevalent, establishing methods designed to make the killing of the unborn “safer.” In 1961, vacuum aspiration-style abortion spread throughout Europe, and it didn’t take long before the pro-abortion segment of American Society caught on to the idea.

In 1963, The Society for Human Abortion (SHA) was established in San Francisco. The organization, designed to promote and legalize “elective abortion” without “harassment,” supported the repeal of all anti-abortion laws. The SHA challenged anti-abortion laws by openly providing information on abortion through providing speakers and literature to libraries, medical schools, physicians, family planning agencies, and individuals. The information avalanche also included providing their view of abortion through the publishing of a quarterly newsletter. In 1968 the SHA maintained a free Post-Abortion Care Center (PACC), which was sponsored by the American Humanist Association. SHA disbanded in 1975.

In addition to the SHA, a parallel organization was established to safeguard the SHA’s tax-free educational status, while enabling the group to carry out underground activities. The Association to Repeal Abortion Laws (ARAL) made referrals to abortion specialists, while preparing and disseminating printed material about specialists and about self-induced abortion. The ARAL also held classes on abortion-related laws, provided information on Mexican abortion specialists, and sought to teach pregnant mothers on self-induced abortion techniques. For a small donation, pregnant women received a kit prepared by ARAL containing annotated lists of abortion specialists in Mexico, Japan, Puerto Rico, and other countries, instructions for going through customs, an evaluation form to be returned to ARAL after completion of the abortion, summaries of laws, and directions for self-induced abortion. The evaluations were used to update the list of abortion specialists.

Sanger’s vision of genocide through abortion is not only being carried out, but it has expanded into an evil that cases like Kermit Gosnell

When California was legalizing abortion with Governor Reagan’s signature in 1967, abortion was classified a felony in 49 states and Washington, D.C. In California, Dr. Leon Belous was convicted for referring a woman to an illegal abortionist, which was the case that led to the 1969 California Supreme Court decision that ignited the battle over abortion in that State.

Today, in New York City, more black babies are aborted than born. Sanger’s vision of genocide through abortion is not only being carried out, but it has expanded into an evil that cases like Kermit Gosnell, and the recent videos regarding baby body parts being sold, have exposed. Yet, the media and the Democrat Party are doing all they can to cover up the horror, and I fear that these horrific images and conversations about the selling of aborted baby body parts are only the tip of the iceberg in regards to how horrifying this all truly is.

How the California Democrats could reject Assemblywoman Melendez’s request to at least audit Planned Parenthood is beyond me.

NRA AND GUN OWNERS OF AMERICA SHOULD FIGHT REAUTHORIZATION OF E.S.E.A. ACT

PART 1 of 2

By Anita Hoge

All Americans Should Fight the Reauthorization of ESEA Elementary and Secondary Education Act

Could it be that something happening in education will impact gun ownership? Is President Obama ensuring his legacy to transform America by disqualifying individuals for gun ownership? Does your local school district log information on the social, emotional, and behavioral data of your child and feed anecdotal psychological observation information into federal databanks? Is adjustment of attitudes, values, beliefs, and dispositions to the State’s image the main aspect of the Reauthorization of ESEA, Elementary and Secondary Education Act? Will federal databases eventually disqualify citizens from owning a gun? Yes, emphatically yes! Read on.

The following four reports, two released this past week, and the ESEA Reauthorization legislation moving forward for passage this Fall, reveal that, by tramping on our Constitution, President Obama is transforming America into a collectivist state. Analyzing the intersection of these key initiatives will bring into focus the total scheme changing America into something that most Americans won’t recognize. You need to fight against this totalitarian goal.

Please read the following analysis and pray that it is not too late.

FIRST Blow To Gun Rights

Concurrent with the restructuring of society through education President Obama has engineered a plan to re-organize neighborhoods. Leo Hohmann, WorldNetDaily, July, 2014, first exposed this plan in his article detailing how President Obama is re-structuring housing. The Hohmann article, “New Obama Rule Could Force Cities To House Illegals, Regulation fits perfectly in line with promise to transform America,” offers a glimpse of how President Obama is restructuring ZIP codes. Hohmann rightly calls President Obama’s move the “Common Core for local zoning.”

Paul Sperry, in an article, July 18, 2015, from the New York Post, “Obama Collecting Personal Data For a Secret Race Database,” reports how HUD (Housing and Urban Development) plans to integrate illegal immigrants, minorities, and felons into EVERY neighborhood through ZIP CODE analysis. President Obama’s plan for equity in housing is to relocate minorities and illegal aliens into your neighborhood if your town or city is 50% or more white. This is a giant leap away from privacy and the ability to live your life free of government control and free from fear of reprisal. According to Sperry there are five areas that will be analyzed for patterns of “racial disparities and segregation” — Housing databases, Mortgage databases, Credit databases, Employment databases, and School databases.

Quoting from the Sperry article.

A key part of President Obama’s legacy will be the fed’s unprecedented collection of sensitive data on Americans by race. The government is prying into our most personal information at the most local levels, all for the purpose of “racial and economic justice.”

Unbeknown to most Americans, Obama’s racial bean counters are furiously mining data on their health, home loans, credit cards, places of work, neighborhoods, even how their kids are disciplined in school — all to document “inequalities” between minorities and whites.

This Orwellian-style stockpile of statistics includes a vast permanent network of discrimination databases, which Obama already is using to make “disparate impact” cases against: banks that don’t make enough prime loans to minorities; schools that suspend too many blacks; cities that don’t offer enough Section 8 and other low-income housing for minorities; and employers who turn down African-Americans for jobs due to criminal backgrounds.

Federally funded cities deemed overly segregated will be pressured to change their zoning laws to allow construction of more subsidized housing in affluent areas in the suburbs, and relocate inner-city minorities to those predominantly white areas. HUD’s maps, which use dots to show the racial distribution or density in residential areas, will be used to select affordable-housing sites. [Emphasis mine]

HUD plans to drill down to an even more granular level, detailing the proximity of black residents to transportation sites, good schools, parks and even supermarkets. If the agency’s social engineers rule the distance between blacks and these suburban “amenities” is too far, municipalities must find ways to close the gap or forfeit federal grant money and face possible lawsuits for housing discrimination.

Civil-rights groups will have access to the agency’s sophisticated mapping software, and will participate in city plans to re-engineer neighborhoods under new community outreach requirements. [Emphasis mine]

…Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing database, which the Department of Housing and Urban Development rolled out earlier this month to racially balance the nation, ZIP code by ZIP code….will map every US neighborhood by four racial groups — white, Asian, black or African-American, and Hispanic/Latino — and publish “geospatial data” pinpointing racial imbalances.

The agency proposes using nonwhite populations of 50% or higher as the threshold for classifying segregated areas. Cities and towns that accept federal funding will be pressured to change zoning laws to allow construction in affluent neighborhoods, and relocate inner-city minorities to those predominantly white areas. HUD’s maps, which use dots to show the racial distribution or density in residential areas, will be used to select affordable-housing sites. (Emphasis mine)

The National Mortgage Database Project compiles 16 years of lending data broken down by race, individual credit scores, employment records, all credit lines, credit cards, student loans, car loans, and anything reported to credit bureaus. The FHFA*collects data on personal assets, debts, bankruptcies, even square footage and lot size of your home and your interest rate.

Through its mandatory Civil Rights Data Collection project, the Education Department is gathering information on student suspensions and expulsions, by race, from every public school district in the country. Districts that show disparities in discipline will be targeted for reform.

…even if there is no other evidence of racism, the numbers themselves will “prove” that things are unfair. Such databases have never before existed. Obama is presiding over the largest consolidation of personal data in US history. He is creating a diversity police state where government race cops and civil-rights lawyers will micromanage demographic outcomes in virtually every aspect of society.

* Federal Housing Finance Agency

Explaining how this will impact your town or city, Stanley Kurtz’s articles in National Review, July 8, 2015, called, “Massive Government Overreach- Obama’s AFFH Rules Are Out,” and July 20, 2015, called, “Attention American Suburbs, You Have Just Been Annexed,” explains how America’s suburbs will be federally re-engineered in nearly every American neighborhood “nullifying municipal boundaries.” Is it the government’s job to diversify neighborhoods by income level and “undo America’s system of local government and replace it with a ‘regional’ alternative that turns suburbs into helpless satellites of large cities?”
(Source 1 and Source 2)

The consolidation of these named databases intersect all aspects of our lives in every ZIP code, in every city, town, and hamlet in the United States.

SECOND Blow To Gun Rights

The next step is to re-define who is mentally disabled and who can own a gun. President Obama now pushes to include SSI beneficiaries, deemed being no longer able to “manage their own affairs” in the broad definition of what is a “mentally deficient” person. President Obama collects data on ex-military or anyone receiving benefits from the government who would meet these same definitions from the Social Security Administration. This data would be logged into the National Instant Criminal Background Checks System, decidedly removing the right to purchase a firearm. The following key question must be answered: What is the definition of mentally deficient or mental illness?

In Alan Zarembo’s article in the Chicago Tribune, July 18, 2015,”Obama pushes to extend gun background checks to Social Security” he quotes the following information: (Source)

Seeking tighter controls over firearm purchases, the Obama administration is pushing for a ban on Social Security beneficiaries from owning guns if they lack the mental capacity to manage their own affairs, a move that could affect millions whose monthly disability payments are handled by others.

The push is intended to bring the Social Security Administration in line with laws regulating who gets reported to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, which is used to prevent gun sales to felons, drug addicts, immigrants in the country illegally and others. A potentially large group within Social Security are people who, in the language of federal gun laws, are unable to manage their own affairs due to “marked subnormal intelligence, or mental illness, incompetency, condition, or disease.” [Emphasis mine]

Social Security would generally report names under the same “mental defective” category. The agency is still figuring out how that definition should be applied, LaVelle said. [Emphasis mine]

The NRA issued a statement from its chief lobbyist, Chris W. Cox, saying: “If the Obama administration attempts to deny millions of law-abiding citizens their constitutional rights by executive fiat, the NRA stands ready to pursue all available avenues to stop them in their tracks. [Emphasis mine]

THIRD Blow to Gun Rights

These four reporters – Mr. Hohmann, Mr. Sperry, Mr. Zarembo’s, and Mr. Kurtz – need to extend their research of President Obama’s agenda into the education area. Why? President Obama is already pushing equity in education, and has already redefined who is poor under Title I and who is disabled under IDEA (Special Ed) – to gain control of ALL children and to label them as “mentally deficient” under the Common Core mental adjustment banner!

The results are staggering. The targeting of mostly white neighborhoods and the controlled relocating of minorities and illegals into every ZIP code will effectually artificially inflate the poverty statistics in education. Title I guarantees schoolwide one-on-one interventions with EVERY CHILD if the poverty threshold is met. This will be guaranteed with ZIP code population redistribution. This means that in every school district accountable to federal guidelines EVERY child will now be labeled a child “At-Risk” of failing to meet government standards – even if his/her parents are millionaires and the child has 120 or higher IQ. For part two see the next article.

Murdock, Beck & Erickson – Trying to Destroy the Trump Card

By  REPOSTED FROM IDJACKSON.NET
Why is the Republican Party attacking Donald Trump and Ted Cruz? Could the Old Republican and Chamber of Commerce establishment fear they’re about to lose their cushy jobs and the support of American people? It is good to remember that a small group of people can in fact change the World – remember the Nazarene..

Birds of a Feather?? Jeb Bush, Rupert Murdoch and Valarie Jarrett
Birds of a Feather?? Jeb Bush, Rupert Murdoch and Valarie Jarrett

.Two men, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are exposing the Republican and Democratic Parties – they are taking a stand with the American populace because they love their Country and want America to be great once again! Let’s talk about Trump today and tomorrow discuss the brave patriot, Ted Cruz.
Maybe it’s time to investigate those who oppose Donald Trump. Do they hate him because he has exposed their years of corruption in our Government abusing and misusing Americans? Is it because Donald is an outsider and not a politician? Maybe the real truth behind the extreme criticism of Donald is because Republicans, lobbyists and the Chamber of Commerce don’t own him nor can they buy him off behind closed doors.

Cheap Shot from the “Cheap Seats”
Cheap Shot from the “Cheap Seats”

Let’s start with George Will who not only exhibits an extreme hatred of Donald, but Will stoops so low as to attack Trump’s supporters. George Will recently described Donald’s supporters as the vulgar, unwashed masses. Will backed up his statement about Donald’s supporters saying they’re “incapable of cognitive thought or rational argument.”
So let’s just slap a big Pinocchio on George Will, because the bottom line is his wife works for Scott Walker and remember George detested Ronald Reagan, so one could easily plaster his face with Pinocchios.
Shhhh, shhhh – looks like George has joined the Democrats (party of demonization, racial slurs, and vulgarity.)
Next would be the one called Erick Erickson the master of pot stirring, name calling and hatred of women. The story goes that he ‘uninvited” Donald Trump to his event in Atlanta.

Woman Demonizer
Woman Demonizer

Erickson said, “There are even lines blunt talkers and unprofessional politicians should not cross. Decency is one of those lines.” He’s referring to Donald’s Trump’s comment about Megyn Kelly.
Me thinks this is the “Pot calling the kettle black.” This is the same Erickson that called our first lady a “Marxist harpy.” Gave a below the belt pot shot at Wendy Davis (Texas Politician) calling Wendy “Abortion Barbie.” Erick has an intense dislike for women (especially intelligent ones) – poor Carly Forina, Erickson will stoop to any low to keep Carly out of the Presidential mix.
Bottomline on this, if Donald had been referring to Megyn’s time of the month, than that’s exactly what the man would have said – he’s known for his extreme bluntness and Trump wouldn’t have hesitated to say that on National TV. Martin Pengelly, August 8, 2015,the Guardian.
Last night 8/16/2015 Glenn Beck (Rupert Murdoch’s water boy) appeared on the Hannity show and proceeded to vilify and demonize Donald Trump. Why has Beck decided to enter the Trump fray?

Murdock’s Water Boy
Murdock’s Water Boy

Probably the only reason Beck is throwing his weight around is his close ties to Rupert Murdoch. Beck was Murdoch’s community organizer during the tea party era. What a tangled web of politics as usual.
We have Rupert Murdoch at the forefront trying to force Ailes (Fox News) to ban Trump, because Murdoch has his own candidates in mind Bush, Bush, Bush followed by Kasich and maybe Chris Christie.
Ailes refused to bow to Murdoch’s demands on demonizing Trump so Murdoch pulled one more bunny out of his hat (Glenn Beck) in an attempt to remove Donald Trump from his run for President in 2016. Thumbs up to Sean Hannity, he graciously allowed Beck on his program last night, but Sean didn’t budge to the usual Beck “Better than thou” philosophy.
So we get down to the nitty gritty of what is really going on behind closed doors. Roger Ailes (Chairman & CEO, of Fox News) is a business man and knows in order to maintain Fox’s ratings banning Trump from FOX would be a very bad business move.
Murdoch also a very prominent business person realizes that Trump is derailing his plans to endorse Bush, Kasich or Christie, so Murdoch is calling in all of the junk yard dogs to do his dirty work.
The Murdoch, Beck and Ailes saga boils down to one thing money and politics as usual. But, it’s going to take more than money to remove the “Donald.” Trump is an outsider, he’s not politically correct, he’s brash, arrogant and not a man owned by Washington.
Trump has identified the critical problems that are weakening our Nation and he’s awakened the “silent majority.” Trump is Trump – that’s it in a nutshell and he’s not about to change. He loves his Country and wants to help make America great again. Trump isn’t trying to make this a one man show; he’s already identifying men and women who will work with him if he wins the Presidential seat.
Will Americans be strong and determined enough to chuck the race card and stand shoulder to shoulder to fight for their children and their Nation? Or will they succumb to the “political machine” that is made up of corrupt politicians (Republicans & Democrats,) lobbyists, special interest groups and the Murdocks, Ericksons, Roves, and false ideologists?
Only time will tell, but all Americans are being given one more chance to restore their Nation, “AS ONE NATION UNDER GOD WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.” May God bless America.

The Donald Trump phenomenon: hidden meanings

by Jon Rappoport for NOMOREFAKENEWS.COM

August 30, 2015

(To read about Jon’s mega-collection, Power Outside The Matrix, click here.)

“You could take the five major news networks and filter Jesus Christ, Buddha, Hitler, Stalin, Attila, Gandhi, and Lawrence Welk through them, and eventually you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference among them. They’d all come across in the same way. That, in fact, is the purpose of television.”(The Underground, Jon Rappoport)

I have nothing against hope, but the brand of naïve hope that surfaces during every presidential election season is truly ridiculous.

Candidate after candidate lies through his teeth, and the people buy in.

Now some are saying The Donald is running to form a third party and thus hand the election to Hillary. Whereas the preferred alternative would be what? Prince Jeb? There’s a difference between Hillary and Jeb? Who’s kidding who?

Or they say The Donald is running to provide a safety valve, so the American people can blow off steam, but ultimately wind up with nothing to show for it.

If that were true, so what? Public despondency will set in? What grotesque political swamp-soup are we wading in now?

I approach this from a different angle.

Trump is unpredictable. He’s the only unpredictable presidential candidate in recent memory. That’s a major plus, because the press can’t do anything with him. They attack him on point A, and he responds with his own attack, or he replies with a non-sequitur, or he just changes the subject because he’s bored with the reporters.

He’s mentioning taboo subjects. Bring back tariffs on US imports. Get rid of inner city gangs.

He says something culturally and politically incorrect, and the press jackals go after him with flashing teeth and claws, fully expecting a take-down, demanding a grovel—and he shrugs—and his approval ratings go up.

Putting the press into the wall—this alone is a feat worth celebrating. Reporters want Trump to be one defined thing they can identify, and then they want to assault that…but he keeps shifting ground and juking and putting on new moves and faces. He drives them crazy.

And the crowds at his speeches are building. Maybe he’ll fill a football stadium one of these days.

What brings the people out? They sense he hasn’t got a script. They love that. They think he’s a different breed from Politician 1-A Normal. They love that, too.

The press hates that.

Right now, The Donald is all throwaway lines—and that’s good. If he resorts to analysis, the press will bring on an army of experts to refute him “on the facts.”

Megyn Kelly thought she’d make a bigger name for herself by trumping the Trump, and instead helped power his new numbers-busting popularity. Another defeat for the press.

When it comes to election campaigns, you have to understand that the job of the media is to grind down every candidate to a small series of meaningless truisms.

The press wants empty generalities. They want android candidates in the debates. They want to make a possible something into nothing.

This is a form of intended political correctness that goes largely unnoticed.

Trump has broken the mold. Therefore, he must pay. But…it’s not working. Not so far. Something in the machinery has gone wrong.

Trump has triggered a response in an audience who feels they’ve been bottled up and straitjacketed for far too long. They’ve been seething and straining. They can’t say this, they can’t say that. And they can’t look to presidents for solutions. Presidents spout rhetorical bullshit.

And then a man shows up who seems to feel the same way they do and isn’t afraid to say so.

The press doesn’t know what to do. Every line they feed Trump, in an effort to slam him, becomes the occasion for one of his comebacks that carries the day.

Trump doesn’t use filler. He improvises. He doesn’t play fast and loose behind the scenes; he does it right out in the open.

Worst of all, the media, for decades, built up the image of Trump. He was great copy. His hair, his marriages, his business deals, his scandals, his greedy eagerness for self-promotion.

Now here he is, and he can’t be cast off like an old suit. He’s front and center.

Presidential campaigns ARE the press. That’s the way it’s been for decades. Campaigns are media events manufactured out of slime you’d sue the city for if it bubbled up in your back yard.

The press takes the slime and lies and packages them into neat little products and puts them in front of television viewers. The press runs the campaigns and wins every election.

But right now…a monster has showed up.

Making a joke out of him doesn’t help, either. People laugh, but the laughs are becoming with-Trump rather than at-him. So what if he’s a self-serving cartoon? Isn’t all presidential politics a cartoon?

You can be sure the foul stench-ridden execs at the major networks are trying to figure out how to torpedo Trump. They’re in a dither. This is supposed to be their presidential campaign, not his. They own the franchise. But he’s ripping huge chunks out of their hides.

Is it possible they could unearth some horrendous cheating scandal from Trump’s past, expose it to the sky, and then watch Trump nod and say, “Yeah, I screwed up, so what?”—and his ratings would jump another ten points? Yes, it’s possible.

Regardless of the issues coming to the fore in this presidential season, the real issue, as always, is the press itself. That’s not supposed to be noticed, but more and more people are noticing it. And because they instinctively hate the powdered and coiffed anchors with their presumptive attitudes, every time Trump hits a home run against one of these smug bloodless motherfuckers, it’s an occasion for great glee.

Trump is doing much more than gaining ground on the other candidates; he’s attacking the whole framework of the Show.

He’s sawing off the pillars of the studio sets. He’s slapping the faces of the news hosts. And as the ultimate insult, he’s lifting their ratings.

An interview with Trump isn’t an interview. It’s a circus. He’s essentially saying, with every breath he takes, “See, audience, see this whole charade, it’s ridiculous, isn’t it? Why should I agree to their terms? Why should I consider these doofus Demo-Repub media mouthpieces are any better than I am or you are? Watch me crack the illusion of television. It’s fun. Let’s kick some high-priced ass together…”

On the media front, it’s looking like Trump is too big to fail. The only thing the networks can do is try to shut him out. I’m not sure that’s going to work. He’s cranked up too much visibility jizz.

On the Disney spectrum of personality, Trump is Scrooge McDuck with some Goofy thrown in, plus a slice or two of Mickey Mouse’s good will. But then there is also a piece of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a clump of Ralph Nader (Nader would hate to admit it), a splash of Salvador Dali, and a passable imitation of Ronald Reagan.

Let the press try to reduce that down to a mainstream presidential candidate.

The television medium, in particular, sets itself up to accommodate the lies candidates tell. It builds studios and lights them for those lies and empty promises. It provides camera angles to feature those lies. It hires hosts and moderators who will facilitate the candidates who lie.

But even all this is not enough. The networks set themselves up to offer a style of lying. Candidates are expected to deploy all sorts of hollow, sanitized, and familiar phrases. They’re expected to affect a fake sense of passion. They’re prompted to offer some fake “new beginning,” as if no other candidate has ever tried that before.

Through these mechanisms, the viewing public is conditioned to expect predigested soulless corporate PR and accept it.

This, as much as anything else, is the death of modern politics. It’s bright grinning groomed zombie android death.

Any man or woman who can come along and punch a gaping hole in that illusion is a threat to the Big Sleep.

Trump is warming to the job.

Could he win the election? It’s hard to fathom it. But again, consider his crooked business past against the crimes of the Bush and Clinton families. In those terms, Trump is a mere piker.

But right now, he’s providing another service. He’s cracking the media egg. And any presidential candidate who even mentions laying on protective tariffs and getting rid of gangs is outdistancing Queen Hillary or Prince Jeb.

Trump is trying to roll crazy sevens and elevens. Hillary/Jeb roll snake eyes every time.
