Trump Vs McCain, And Why I Hate The Lying Freaking Media

And Now for rest of the story…

OK so it’s been reported ad nauseam that Trump insulted McCain by saying McCain was not a war hero because he was captured “

Now a little back ground before I tell you exactly what was said vs. what has been reported.

On Saturday McCain Called roughly 15,000 people in AZ. who came out to hear Trump speak “Crazies” . This ticks Trump off. They have been verbally sparing for a few days. Ok so on Sunday what was said by Trump was this. Here is a great dissection of it by

1. The Post did not provide context at the outset disclosing that McCain and Trump have been feuding, with McCain characterizing some Trump supporters as “crazies” and Trump stating that McCain graduated last in his class in Annapolis. The charged rhetoric continued at the conservative Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa this weekend.

2. When a panelist characterized McCain as a “war hero,” the Post is accurate in reporting that Trump initially said McCain is “not a war hero.” But then, Trump immediately modified his statement saying– four times– that McCain is a war hero:

“He is a war hero.”

“He’s a war hero because he was captured.”

“He’s a war hero, because he was captured.”

“I believe, perhaps, he’s a war hero. But right now, he’s said some very bad things about a lot of people.”

3. Did Trump say McCain is not a war hero because he was captured? No, not in the exchanges represented in the Post.

4. Is the Post’s characterization an accident? It would appear not, because it is repeated in the Post’s caption of the video clip, which also states: “Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a decorated Vietnam war veteran, was not a war hero because he was captured by the North Vietnamese [emphasis added].”

Further, in the Post’s second sentence, Trump is quoted as stating of McCain, “He’s not a war hero…He’s a war hero because he was captured,” but the article selectively left out the phrase Trump had uttered in between: “He is a war hero.”

Trump actually said the opposite of what the Post lead sentence and video caption claim. The Post might have been able to get away stating that Trump “implied” McCain was not a war hero because McCain was captured, but even that would have been a subjective interpretation since Trump had actually stated the opposite.

It’s true that Trump stated one time that McCain is not a war hero. But Trump stated four times that McCain is a war hero–and that was not accurately characterized in the article.

I believe he said McCain was a Hero 4 times. Have you read that anywhere in the media? The best part is he does not apologize he doubles down and says

“I like people who weren’t captured.”   Gotta luv the Chutzpah.   🙂

Be ever vigilant in what you read.

  1. OK, the bottom line here is that most people who have a clue as to what is happening in this country do not like John McCain. Everytime the MSM needs a Republican take on something they trot out McCain. McCain has to be the best example of a RHINO there is. He was chosen by the Repubos some years ago to run for prez. They knew when they chose him that he would loose. It was planned. The only thing good that came of McCain’s run for the presidency was it brought Sarah Palin onto the national stage. I know some would disagree with that. Like Trump is doing, if nothing else, Palin has stirred the pot. It needs to be stirred!!

Yes, McCain served in Vietnam but then so did John Kerry. To me they are two peas in a pod. McCain is a POW. However, I think if you will research his POW background, his comrades in arms and the events of the time, McCain does not come out smelling like a rose. I personally think John McCain suffers from dementia or some form thereof. Just a personal opinion. I do know this McCain needs to bow out of public life and fade into the background.

You go Trump. I know the DemocRATS, the RepubocRATS, and the MSM are all wanting Trump to go away. They think that if they misquote him enough, jeer him enough, diss him enough, hassle him enough and make his life miserable enough, that Donald Trumph will fade into the back ground and they can go on their merry way of pushing Hillary and Jeb. Hopefully Trump does not do this. I can’t blame him if he does though. By the way, I am not a Trump fan. I do appreciate the fact that he is saying and talking about all the things that need to be discussed where there is not one other of the sixteen candidates doing that.

  2. I thought McCain was a horrible candidate in 2008. How many millions of dollars has he raised throughout his political career on that POW torture story? He dumped wife #1 and went for the money with wife #2—-just like Kerry.

  3. I think McCain’s debt has been paid in full. I too have heard his POW story is not quite what it seems. I just found this link and if half of it is true he should have been charged with treason, except his Daddy was an Admiral and Nixon himself intervened. Did you know he did 32 propaganda tapes while captured? I didn’t.
Holy Moly on this one I just found. Ever hear of the Forrestal incident,

Well it just so happens to be the deadliest accident aboard a US Navy surface vessel since WWII, and supposedly McCain caused it.

Of Course Daddy covered this up too. 27 dead and over 100 wounded
Never heard of it have you? Me neither. Even when he ran for POTUS the MSM never said a word. Oh my.
Great link after pic explaining whole story, and might explain why McCain has been in pocket of Neo Cons at Pentagon for years.

    Little Johnny McCain's Handiwork. Hmm

  4. McCain’s always been a Harry Reid with a Purple Heart. The ONLY remarkable thing he ever did (outside of fathering a good looking daughter) was surviving captivity and getting home. He’s ridden THAT act like a glorious War Horse-he built his Career on it.

  5. Trump did not make this statement about McCain, but Al Franken did in 2000. Story here;

  6. Great article on the Daily Beast by a writer who clearly does not like Trump, but was honest enough to cover this story. It includes many quotes from Viet Nam vets who support Trump

“Think all vets care about the draft-dodging CEO’s tough talk about McCain’s war record? They don’t.

It’s hard to think of a worse place than Sun City, South Carolina, for Donald Trump to make his first public appearance since unleashing a firestorm of controversy by calling Sen. John McCain “not a war hero” over the weekend.

The “active” retirement community of 16,000 is a magnet for military retirees, many of whom served in Vietnam as McCain languished in a Hanoi POW camp and is a a mandatory stop for “country-first” Republicans looking to win the state’s crucial First-in-the-South primary.

But instead of greeting Trump with protests for his comments, the conservative crowd of 600 welcomed the GOP frontrunner with three standing ovations, an overflow room of 500, and rapt attention.
